Dick Grayson is a good name for a comic character, and that's the point. It's a comic character.
Rick is also a nickname for Richard to some folks. I had a co-worker who went by Rick where his name was Richard. My Dad's name was Richard and went by Dick. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I don't care if they want the character to go by Rick instead of Dick, whatever, both are short for Richard so both are fine really. But Ric? RIC? With no K? Why? For what reason? He was Dick with a K for decades, why drop the K? Is he going to swap back to Dick in a few months time but drop the K so he'll be Dic?

My old boss was named Richard. He went by Ric. Had three managers at once all named Richard. They went by Rick, Ric, and Dick. Rick and Dick were in their 60s. Ric was in his 30s.
