This is the President of the United States. We did this to ourselves, elected someone who resembles us at our worst.
No, he resembles
us. Calling him our "worst" puts the blame out there, to an "other". No. I would argue he's our
normal.
Donald Trump is precisely what you get in a neoliberal capitalist state where money means all, that exceptionalism is propagandized, that business is seen as the work of living deities, and that obliterating the "other" is all you have to do to be a person of power. We, as members of society, have either supported or normalized all of these beliefs in our daily lives, consciously or not. This is
our social game.
He's a genuine reflection of what we are when it comes to ego. If anything, the wake up call here is to see the state of affairs that gave us Trump shouldn't continue to exist, but how many think Trump is the disease but not a symptom?
