I'm sorry man, this is horrible. Good thing you reached out to the building management, have you contacted your renters insurance yet?

Sorry to hear, OP. I'd be really pissed if this ever happened to me, but the joke would be on them because the vast majority of my games are on Steam, so they'd get away with like a couple dozen games tops.

I'm sorry OP.

If you're positive your stuff was stolen by some punk and not actual competent burglars, you might be able to get some stuff back.

Hell I got my phone stolen a few months ago and the moron who did it put it on an ebay-like website less than 24 hours later. If you had some stuff that was rare/recognizable, you might want to check if they're going to be put on sale.

One way or another, I'll know I'll replace this shit. It's just the hassle and headache. I don't need this...no one does.

Currently talking to the police. They're about to dust for prints and question the parents

Sorry to hear OP. My place was busted into back in March 17. They took my laptop and smaller items but left the ps4 and the big stack of games. Fucking cracked idiots.

I know who did this. Some asshole "kid" who recently got kicked out. I've had two packages stolen by this guy too. Other tenants have had mail stolen too. I confronted his parents and they claim they know nothing. Bullshit. Property manager is livid and promised me he's throwing them out ASAP.

Still waiting on cops to show up (told in middle of shift swap so it would be a bit)

Lived here for over 5 years without any issues until this asshole showed up. I will personally go out of my way to fuck his life up. He picked the right one, boy.

I'm just so beyond angry, sad and just shocked.

If you have the opportunity to get back at this dude, wait until after you replace all your shit.

Definitely targeted, your theory on who did it is probably accurate.

I know several people who had their gaming stuff stolen, and every one of them said the only thing left behind was the Wii. Apparently pawn shops pay almost nothing for them so they're not worth the trouble to even carry out.

Sorry to hear that happened, people that steal shit from others are definitely scum. Knowing others broke into ones place which is suppose to be a safe place must be a shitty feeling.

Sorry to hear his dude.
Getting robbed is the worst possible thing I could ever imagine happening to me. And I'm not even kidding, the worst.

Cause your home is your place, your own private sacred area, your safe space and the moment someone breaks into it and goes through your private stuff is the moment I couldn't sleep one more night in it. I would have to move immediately, I could never ever trust this place anymore.
Who was that, what if he watched you and planned this and kinda knew what to get there? What if he took notes of when you're gone and come back?
Like I said, I couldn't be there anymore, it's the most horrible thing I can imagine.

Not to make you feel bad but it's usually someone that has been over to see what you have, then relays the goods to a friend without a conscience who breaks in and steals everything.

We had assholes pretending to be from a legit gas company scoping people's homes out here and once they cased a place with valuables they'd be broken into.

Think about any iffy friends or people who have been to your place or someone who knew what you had there.

This is some bull, I would be so mad if someone stole all my games! In that case I guess it's better to be digital so you have some chance as recovery

Shit, do you rent ? Make sure you talk to landlord, sometimes there is insurance that covers theft.

The insured needs to have a renters insurance policy to cover the contents. The landlord should also have insurance, but their insurance is to cover the building. If you're making this call you already missed your chance to be covered.

Check your local Gamestops for recent trade-ins too. I have no idea if Gamestop/EB Games can you give you info on recent in-store transactions however.

That absolutely blows bro.
I would say whoever robbed you has been watching you for your schedule the past few days - can you put a finger on any suspect at all?
Hopefully you have renter's insurance.
Edit: If it is the scumbag kid that's your neighbor's son, you can (falsely) threaten with having video footage and see his or their reactions and see if the thief plays his card.

Don't do anything to him, it can cause you from retrieving your belongings. I know from experience.:/
What? You can not get your things back if you do something to the fucking scum that robbed them?

Fuck that. Hope you can get your things back OP, this sounds like a nightmare.

Real sorry to hear it OP. I know the pain.
When I was 14 I got my PC stolen.
The guys stole my jacket from the back room when we held a private view of an art exhibition. Someone let them in without following the rules (no one should have been let in without their family member picking them up at the door) and they found my jacket with my keys in it. That was the only thing they stole from there. They apparently knew where I lived, went to my apartment, picked up my PC and our cameras, left and locked the door behind them. We didn't suspect a thing at first, but then obliviously realized that the place where my PC should be was empty. That seriously scarred me for life.
A year after that we had a "proper" break-in at my mom's guy's house. He was visiting us and they had truly ransacked the place while he was gone. Everything they didn't steal, they smashed. He couldn't sleep at home for weeks after because he felt so violated.
Never got anything back, but got some money from the insurances in both cases.

I have Arlo cameras now and DNA marked all my stuff, but I still can't ever relax away from home. :(

I won't say that everyone should get cameras or DNA mark their stuff and such, but one simple thing that can help a ton is to take photos. Take photos of your whole apartment now and then. Save backups of the pics. If something happens to your stuff (fire, flood, break-in) you have some proof of what you had at home.

Idiot didn't realize the Wii is also a GameCube.

That fucking sucks. Good luck to you.

My friend was moving on Christmas Day several years back. He locked his car door as he did a load of boxes, but when he came back he watched his car turning the corner with all his videogames inside. He grew up with a Saturn, so he had some tough games to replace. The cops basically shrugged and said it's Christmas, so nobody was gonna do shit.

You should keep an eye on your area's craiglist and such, look for any posts that are selling those systems.

It youre lucky that he's stupid enough to keep those in his house then you should call cops to there asap and without letting those people know otherwise they're gonna hide it elsewhere in advance prepared and likely sell it off

Make sure to mention the pawn shops within fifteen mile radius bit to the cops OP. Sometimes cops need to be reminded how to do their job, and the cops around here tend not to do anything unless they're ostensibly force fed suggestions on how to police.

In a lot of places they are actually considered pawn shops, so they should have a lot more info than you'd expect....but I've also seen some shady GameStops.
