Cons:

- Sam is annoying.
100% disagree. Unless you want a 999% female staff, Sam is a wonderful surprise for the role. The Sam x Nadine talking is amazing fun with jokes and insults everwhere.
Chloe is even more Lara than the Lara inself and thats a good thing. We need strong female leads. Hope if have a 'next' Nadine can be the leader. Much to do.

This game reminded me of Uncharted 1, in the sense that you're venturing deeper and deeper into a single location uncovering the mystery the further you get, as opposed to globe trotting of Uncharted 2/3/4. I absolutely loved that aspect of Uncharted 1 and was glad to see it return here.

I didn't realize the ship from Arrival was in this game.

Just finished last night. Going back for Crushing right now.
TBH I did not enjoy Uncharted 1&2 that much, did not play 3 and 4. This one was pretty alright. Although for a game where half of the time you spend climbing, the climbing is a bit monotonous, just like the recent Tomb raider or AssCreed and the likes. Something like Prince of Persia required more dexterity I remember. They could have introduced a stamina bar, I wonder if it helps.

Chloe and Nadine are more of "laid back" x "serious" dynamics we see a lot in media, but they do have good chemistry.

Yeah it was great. I had a grin stuck on my face after I finished it. Definitely my favourite Uncharted game, right up there with 2.

Bonus:

Chlodine is a thing!

If it wasn't for Horizon, The Lost Legacy would be my 2017 game of the year. For me personally, it's one of three 9.5/10 games this generation. TLL matched Uncharted 2 in rating but it's officially my new number one in the franchise. After being disappointed with Uncharted 4 to where it only beats the original Uncharted for me, I was done with this franchise but TLL revitalized it and made me want more.

I know this probably doesn't fit maybe with the timeline but the only thing that prevented me from seriously considering giving TLL a perfect 10/10 (which I have never ever done in 30 years of gaming) was the happy ending. I was really hoping for Nadine to turn against Chloe, kill off Sam, escape with the artifact and setup the sequel. If done right, that would have most likely led to a perfect score and it being my goty.

Yep, awesome game and great uncharted game (even without drake)! Total steal for the price they were asking on the Black Friday sale, which was $20 with PSPlus (game includes multiplayer as well).

I just beat the Lost Legacy. It, honestly, felt a little weak. I enjoyed it still, though. The first area in the city should have been used more, as it's one of my favorite in the series. It was disappointing to see the rest of the game was all jungle. Not a big fan of jungles all the time. The set pieces felt a little like a greatest hits compilation. It had it's benefits, as we got to see how far we've moved, since U2, but was also a little disappointing. They were still fun, though. Not a fan of the tiny openworld they tried. I play enough openworld games, I want this to be a linear experience. The little slice of openworld felt underwhelming, given all the other games that do it better. Wide-linear is a better approach.

I felt like Cloe, Nadine, and Sam were never this sympathetic, in a bad way, and Nathan Drake attributes were forced on them. They are all super well written, until they are forced into the hero role. They should have kept it as a fun adventure, with fortune hunters, without forcing some hero elements. They could have done a hero type thing, I suppose, but it didn't feel natural to me, the way they did it. In the end, I came away with liking Nathan Drake as a main protagonist a lot more. Cloe, Nadine, and Sam have more potential together than Sam and Nathan, but, I like Sam and Nathan's relationship more because they pulled it off better.

The gameplay really displayed some weaknesses, this time around. I actually felt like the other Uncharted games were funner, as they really allowed for a run and gun type of approach. U4, less so, but the scenarios kept it interesting, and, every once in awhile, it shined bright. Not to mention, it was actually rather light on combat, as a whole (as both a positive and a negative).

Overall, this was missing a bit of something. I like the story, characters, and gameplay, but it was all uneven, for the reasons listed above. I think U4 was better in almost all areas, except LL ability to string together story with Gameplay. U4's biggest problem was that it had too may slow story moments, that broke up the pace. LL didn't have this problem. I would give this a 7.5 or low 8, as opposed to a solid 9 I would give U4.

U2 is easily the best in the series, IMO.

Finished the game last night and my impressions are very similar to the ones described here. I liked the game and don't regret buying it (for 20€) but something was missing. The bolded part in particular matches my thoughts. Heroics felt strange for the Chloe I had been introduced to in 2. The hero moments were hard to buy for me.

Also, I was pleasantly surprised to have Sam be in the game, only to realise (once he joined) that he is my least liked addition to the Uncharted cast. Never liked his character or saw the necessity of him. Made me miss Sully more than anything else.

Regardless the game looked incredible and the final chapters were great. I regret driving around to get the 11 trinkets in chapter 4 only to be rewarded not by story but some stupid bracelet which I switched off in the options menu about ten minutes later. However, the small riddles to get the tokens were all right so I guess it wasn't a total waste of time.

I was very hyped that Chloe got her own game and I think they did an OK job with it but she's just not quite main character caliber, despite the Croftian backstory. I think Naughty Dog realised this and gave her Nadine as an almost equal partner.

Still a much better choice than a Sam game, however.

Good game, not great game.

Papaya said pretty much everything I wanted to say.

Maybe I had too high of an expectation since I've seen many people proclaim that LL is their favorite Uncharted game. Which I'm honestly super surprised by playing the game (currently in the last or second to last chapter). I really liked the opening in the city but once you get to the jungle it all kind of starts to fall apart. The game stops being original. And starts to focus on everything I don't like about Uncharted games. The combat was never really that good in the franchise but with LL they seem to start to focus on the combat in a bad way. Especially with the open world chapter. You just get a load of badly designed combat areas. Those were the moments I really realized how poor the actual combat mechanics are in this game. And I'm honestly not looking for open world segments in a UC game. Give me amazing linear and tightly designed set pieces and combat areas. I guess creating that open world area was a smart thing to do recourse-wise to pad the game out a bit.

It's definitely not a bad game. I'm having fun playing it. I'm just disappointed after saying the crazy positive response it got. I'm glad I got it on discount. If I had paid full price I'd probably be pissed off.

It was a good game that proved we can have a Uncharted game without Nathan Drake. I had a lot of fun playing it. That said, Lost Legacy felt somewhat smaller to the other Uncharted games. I was fine with that, considering it was originally supposed to be DLC and it wasn't priced as a full standalone release. I liked how they did a relationship between Nadine and Chloe. Sam was also much more relatable than he was in Uncharted 4. Loved the sequence during the end credits.

I enjoyed Lost Legacy for what it was, certainly was a good piece of DLC. Being Nathan Drake-free was different, however playing as Chloe instead, it felt natural. It does feel like Naughty Dog can certainly make a great Uncharted game without using Drake as the lead. It did feel at times like ideas were running out, and one or two pieces felt like they were put in for the sake of it. However none the less, nice addition to the franchise.

What a great, great game, my co-GOTY with Wolfenstein 2.

It just had perfect pacing, incredible visuals, great gameplay balance, and the most endearing characters. I loved the dynamic between the two women, and it got even better when Sam was injected into the mix. So well done.

It's the little things. The facial animations and body language in that high five during the final cutscene just felt so...real. Hard to describe. Wonderful game.

The game ends on a high which is partly the reason why everyone loves it so much. it's also short and concise and unlike Uncharted 4, not a fucking snoozefest. they also keep the climbing sections to a minimum.

That said, the game felt a little short on the second playthrough. i was hoping for another chapter like chapter 4 and another setpiece chapter like chapter 9. The game starts off with a walking section in the streets of a war torn city. i think that was their chance to do a next gen version of the Nepal city escape with Jeff the Camera Man, Chloe and Elena. With Chapter 9, the integrated U2's train level with the chase sequence in Uncharted 4 to perfection. they could have done something similar here with helicopters and APCs chasing you through the streets. The rooftop escape in the rain looked cool but it did nothing for me from a gameplay perspective. Though i guess thats way too much work for a game that took just a year to ship. But thats exactly why I want a full blown sequel. I thought i was done with Uncharted but that final chapter and chapter 4 showed me that there is still life left in the series.

The game's biggest accomplishment is that they made Sam likeable. I didnt think it was possible. the way they hint at him in chapter 4 is hilarious on the second playthrough.

Just finished this yesterday and I think it's my favourite in the series. Its such a tight experience from start to finish, I liked the fact that it was shorter. Didn't over stay it's welcome.

The fact this was made in a year gives me great hope that TLoU 2 is a late 2018 title. By that point it would have been in production for a few years.

It isn't impossible. We have to keep in mind that they faced a major setback with UC4 and that considerably extended the release date. ND is actually quite efficient when things are "going well" (I put this in quotations because that doesn't really apply to game development but you get my point).

To produce something of this quality in 1 year is impressive.

I just finished this game, I enjoyed it but I wouldn't say I loved it. It's the second Uncharted released without any supernatural characters and I guess I miss that. Fighting guys with machine guns/trucks/helicopters seems like it only slows down the pace rather than add to the fun. Having said that, the game is beautiful and I really enjoyed the dialog. It was nice that Sam joined in towards the end of the game. I also learned a lot about Indian gods which is kind of cool.
