This needs to happen. I wonder which combat system they would choose to make it. Give Dante dodge offset or give Bayonetta styles.
Honestly, I have always hoped for Street Fighter/Tekken sort of deal. Where Capcom and Platinum make their own games, with their systems and takes on the characters.

Not to mention Capcom already did that with SNK back in the day and was comparatively more successful than when they tried it with Namco. And even then, the Capcom side benefited more with two CvS games, while SNK came out with SvC Chaos which was...a thing.

I hope DMC5 keeps up the sweet just frame mechanics. It's amazing how much depth and feedback being able to maximize practically every single attack brings.

It was 'a thing' thanks to Capcom. SNK was in a bad way back then due to the bankruptcy etc. and asked Capcom to give them an extension to make the game (the time on their deal was running out) and Capcom said no, so SNK could either rush and release Chaos or not be able to release anything at all. It is said that this is what started the bad blood between the two of them back then.

And honestly, between the SNK and Namco deals, Capcom has been the one profiting. They also almost screwed Arcsys when the latter approached them for a cross over game. So personally I'd be cautious of doing a cross over with them, or at the very least if I were Platinum Games I'd want my game to release before whatever Capcom releases.

Yeah, this has been a longshot wish of mine for a while. I would adore a collaborative effort between Platinum and Capcom that would result in two co-developed titles "DMC x Bayonetta" and "Bayonetta x DMC."

DMC x Bayonetta would be developed by Itsuno's team at Capcom.
Bayonetta x DMC would be developed by a team at Platinum.

Both games would cover two sides of one story arc, and there would be intersecting paths at different sections of each game. There could be boss fights against the respective player character in the other game, and also battles cooperatively with the other player character, but the gameplay would obviously be tuned and balanced by the respective development studio.

You could maybe even integrate online cooperative or versus play (or turn it off) during these cross segments with the other game. Think almost two campaigns of RE6 as separate games, but not sloppy and with more crossover.

In DMC5, you'll play as a new female character chasing Lucia around some kind of religious city that worships Mundus.

Playing DMC3:SE on the HD collection. It's been so long and all this hype has got me going back to it. Man I forget how much slower it is compared to 4. Style meter is so different, too. I feel like it's tougher to build up in 4, but easier to keep at high levels. 3 has the opposite, where it's easier to get up, but harder to maintain.

So here's what I'm thinking for some characters

Vergil:
-No Beowulf or Force Edge. Trish has Sparda and Dante took Beowulf and stashed it somewhere. He should still have more swords though. It'd be kinda cool if he replaced those with Ifrit and Alastor. Unlikely, but cool.
-DmC had the right idea in giving him Doppelgänger. Also give him Quicksilver with on the fly style switch. Dark Slayer, Quicksilver, and Doppelgänger. He'd be a real mobile and zoning character. Just all over the map.
-A couple more "guns" would be good. His Summoned Swords is great and all, but I'd like to see some extra stuff. More magic, obviously. Dunno what, though. Trish's lightning tricks and traps from MvC3?

Trish:
-Really needs some heavy weapon variety. Some classic stuff. I think it would be pretty awesome to just give her classic weapons. Use her as a rehash character in some ways. Take all the lightning-based weapons for instance. Giving her Nevan and Alastor would be super cool and I'd be down to clown with that.
-Giving her transformation weapons in general seems like a solid idea. Sparda and Pandora would be the biggest, considering you have a transforming sword and a transforming gun. Of course, this would be a full Pandora instead of the neutered tech that we got.
-Translating her from MvC3 wouldn't be a bad idea. I'd like to see her lightning magic make it in, and maybe they could even do something with her flight tech.

Lady:
-Honestly, there's already a really solid base here. Give her Spiral, since it's not a demonic gun. Try to keep her away from demonic weapons and do much what Vergil did, although she needs a far more versatile sword weapon. The Kalina Ann (Bayonet) doesn't even touch Summon Swords. Not even remotely. Having her as a reverse Vergil is a really amazing base to build off of though. For sure.

Nero:
-Increase the Devil Bringer versatility, instead of having pre-programmed throws, allow him more control over the types of throws he does using inputs. Also allow more direct usage of the Devil Bringer e.g. throwing some punches. I'm not sure about giving him different DB "styles".
-Maybe giving him different guns equipped to the D-Pad and then swords equipped to the right trigger while still leaving the Exceed function attached to the left trigger, giving all the swords a secondary function.
-Having more unique and complex DTs with their own move sets is also a great idea as well, rather than them being just a power-up (albeit, a cool looking power-up that sometimes gives movesets a little extra oomph). Like the DTs from DMC2, maybe?

Just some base ideas I had that I didn't want to bog down and drag the leak thread off-topic with.

Hi there, quick questions about the SE on Steam. I saw that there's a bundle and included in it is the Super "costumes." Those are just early unlocks, right? And I can unlock them all on my own? I'm assuming the only things in the bundle that aren't unlockable are Trish and Lady's costumes?

Oh, and is there support for the Dualshock 4?

Yes, those DLC items are unlockable in game, pretty much the intent I think was to have those for people coming back to it and not wanting to unlock everything all over again.

As for Dualshock 4 support, don't know if it's natively supported through Steam as I always just used DS4 Windows to make the Dualshock act as an Xbox controller. Much more efficient.

Saw in the leak thread that Danielle Burgio (voice actor for Trish) is retweeting stuff about DMC5 rumors. Is it safe to believe yet?

Cool, thanks!

Guess I'll just have to find out myself regarding the DS4 then. Not a fan of using third party programs for controller support, but I suppose I could check that out too, just in case. Or I could play using the keyboard like before...

I hate Secret Missions

HATE them. They are not fun. They are tedious and difficult. I have this issue with every character action game that does this. At least Bayo 2 simplified it and just made them basic combat challenges with a twist (no Witch Time, only one hit, etc.).

Secret Mission #9: Unbreakable is killing me. Chimera monsters are the worst. They just start swinging blades around with no telegraph.

Quick question. I kind of want to re-start DMC4SE from scratch, but I kind of don't want to lose my progress either (my save was cloudsynced to my new pc), what is the best way to go about this?

Go to the save location on PC and back it up somewhere. Should be USER > USERNAME > DOCUMENTS > CAPCOM > DMC4SE > Save file.
