Spark's startup time is almost annoyingly noticeable considering how often apps refresh with the X.

So I got this in today and it does come with a wall charger, but separately packaged. Here's what I received:
I'll have to compare it to the one I got from Amazon when I get home. The wall adapter that came with the Amazon one was white.
Edit: Going by photos online I'm thinking that the wall charger at least may be a knockoff.

Played around with the phone for a bit, I like it but don't love it and the Verge article about people coming from + iPhones maybe not liking it is spot on. It's just too small for me, have to wait for the X+ or whatever.

I was charged on the 13th or 14th and got the phone on the 20th. Look for a tracking number really late tonight or really early in the morning. I think I got the tracking number at like 3 or 4 in the morning.

It really is more in line with the 6/7/8 in that regard. .2/.15mm bigger. Shrinking the bezels really does make a difference. It would be cool to see an X+, but I don't know if they will. That would be a humongous screen size. I imagine it would be touching $1500, too.

Same here, I got the Apple silicone case and it is really good but this phone needs to be caseless so I took it off after a few days. Way too nice to put it in one.
holy shit my friend at work brought his original iPhone into the office and holding that thing next to the iPhone X is just wow....its something else
I took my case out today to access the sim card, and I have to say that I really appreciate the caseless look. I mean, well duh, but, and I guess that especially in space grey, there is such a raw look to the phone, in a futuristic way, that you feel more after having used it in a case for a while and got used to the slight extra bezels they give.
I still feel like this phone looks and feels finished and whole when in a case, especially an Apple Case designed in tandem with the phone, but when out of it and you can still use that reduced to the bare essential of what makes a phone, that all-screen black glossy slab of metal and glass, luxurious but subdued, is really something special.
Still going back in the case LOL, I'm not taking chances. And I do love my cases too, on their own merit, and also the way I can use them to switch up the look of the phone.
My Sena Ultraslim sleeve arrived yesterday, and it's great... mostly. Since it hasn't broken in and loosened up yet, it tends to simultaneously pinch the side button and a volume button, which triggered SOS warning and automatically called 911 lol. The emergency dispatcher wasn't pleased. So if you get a sleeve rather than a case, disable the Emergency auto-call feature in settings! I disabled Siri from the side button as well, but that's no big deal since I barely ever use it (and can still activate it by voice if I need to).
yeah maybe because I always went with the smaller phones which had smaller cameras but the camera bump/rocking on a flat surface seems especially bad with the iPhone X
Same on my 8+. I used my 5S naked for the last two or three months before upgrading and the screen looked pristine. Didn't pay particular attention. My 8+ already has a tiny deep scratch and tons of hairline scratches and that is with regularly dusting out my phone pocket. Pretty weird development
My 6s+ also got micro-scratched to hell when my previous 5 didn't - that's why I didn't take my chances with the X.

I'm really used to opening Mail and getting out within a minute or so. And Mail.app is pretty good about opening near instantly so Spark having the hold screen with the logo and all is a bit annoying.
I bought a few weeks ago a white one with the Fatboy pillow here in Finland for 30€, new. It's super cool. The downside is that it's supposed to be "slow" but I wouldn't know, I just charge it there overnight and when I wake up, the phone is at 100%.

It's really common now in nyc so I no longer worry about looking odd with it, not sure why "douche" would be used to describe someone wearing it
So... I can basically get the phone plan I'd like for $50/month with no phone or for $70/month + $130 purchase of an iPhone 8(or 8+) on a two-year contract. Basically if I go plan only it's $610 less than the plan+phone over the two years ($20/mo x 24 + $130 purchase). I would have to buy the X for $1300cdn unlocked.
I guess what I'm asking is... does the X seem worth $700(cdn) over the 8(+)? I played with both in store and I REALLY like the X but... it's a lot more expensive as I'd have to buy it from Apple instead of getting a carrier subsidy. I like the size better as it's closer to my 6, but the dual-cameras and screen of the 8+ are better. With the X I get the size, screen (better than the 8+), cameras and other goodies. Though it's a lot of money.

That is quite a difference. For me it was $7 or $8 a month extra, so it was a no-brainer.
