I'm years behind but I'm on Volume 5 of Vinland Saga and I can't get enough of it, I'm also three volumes in to Golden Kamui and that's a blast as well. I'm just way in to this big story's and journey's.

Other than that Again!! also keeps being a joy 5 volumes in, I adore the art and character designs.

A certain Stand from JoJo springs to mind after this chapter. What an utterly terrifying ability this man has.

One Piece 923

God damn, Kaido. One shot out of nowhere.

Dr. Stone 81

I wonder if Hyoga is off the no-kill list after that science-chidori.

My Hero Academia 204

Oh man, I need to see red-hot Tetsutetsu in animated form.

One Piece 923

Welp, Kaidou is pretty much almost invincible, no matter if he's using his Devil-fruit form or not.

My Hero Academia 204

Tenya upgraded his engine that allow him to accelerate in high speed, but difficult to control it which is a pretty worthless, lol. And I kinda feel bad for Ojiro though, his quirk was so useless that make him a biggest jobber in MHA, no offense to this guy. Todokroki is still held back from his trauma flashback with his father. It's seemingly that his father is trying to teach him to be a superior or something.

Indeed, KC is the first thing that came to mind when I realized the time loop.
STILL I'm not 100% convinced they're totally identical, that's how much confusing I still find KC : }
If they're the same and Togashi managed to explain it in ONE fucking schema I'll lose it.

God damn, Kaido. One shot out of nowhere.

I thought obvious it would end like this, especially after taking (on purpose) such a pounding.
He was hopeful but gear 4 Luffy is still far from being the "liberator" he seems to be waiting for, so he gently shoved him aside. : o

This depends on how much you like waifus

I like them enough.

Also the reaction of the others when there girl didn't win, even when its been telegraphed for a while LOL.

So on the the manga and i'm really digging it even if its has the usually harem style tropes but the characters really do shine though (all 5 sisters and the mc are the obvious standouts).

As for the list i honestly like all 5 but 3 are running neck an neck right now for my number one spot.

But if i had a gun to my head and had to pick it would be between Miku and Ichika with Ichika edging it out at this moment. Nino is going in though with some great plays in the span of 2 chapters so shes up there as well

Kimetsu no Yaiba Volume 13

Finished reading this. Basically an entire volume of pure fighting with a short flashback or two. Was a good read.

Tanjirou busting out the full page Hinokami Kagura moves is always hype:
1541221812-capture.png

The main antagonist of this volume, Hantengu is strong but he doesn't seem as overwhelmingly powerful as the previous Upper Moons we've seen in action. It's probably just that Tanjirou's gotten more powerful though.

Impatient to see what's next with the other Upper Moon though.

Sept 2018 Recommendation: Sket Dance

8HgaOTz.jpg

Case-by-case comedy | 32 volumes, complete work, not licensed in English

The hilarious misadventures of the "Sket Dan"; a couple of high schoolers who help out people as part of their club activity: Himeko, the hot-headed ex-delinquent with a soft spot for cute things and a taste for strange food; Switch, the brainy otaku who only talks via a computerized speech-application; and Bossun, the atypical leader of this looney bunch, with the amazing power to... concentrate very hard!

Sket Dance won the 55th annual Shogakukan Manga Award in 2009 for best shounen manga. (source)

From Chase:
I won't go on to rave about it too long, but I found the series to be great both with its comedy and in the times it took a serious tone. (source)

I'm confusing myself, but I might have forgotten to do October

Yakusoku no Neverland Volume 11

The Goldy Pond arc is thus completed. Really enjoyable volume, feels good to finally see Leuvis go down (although it's weird that his body is missing when they're showing all the dead demons at the end of the arc, there could be some fuckery going on here). It's a very action-centric volume so there hasn't been a huge amount of plot development (which isn't an issue) so I'm guessing the manga will now veer back towards developing the intrigue.

I seem to remember reading something about the series entering its final arc recently, am I remembering this right? Since I only read this manga when the volumes come out I don't really venture in the OT. I like the series but I'm not unhappy about that - not every series need to be running for 10+ years. I won't say no to a short(er) series that's good all the way through and knows how to end on a high note (which it hopefully will).

Radiant Volumes 9 & 10

These two volumes conclude the Caislean Merlin Arc, the second big arc of the series which started on Volume 5. I found them to be a really good conclusion to the arc, I couldn't put the books down after starting haha. They're a big emotional rollercoaster, I went through pretty much every emotion in these two volumes.

Just like the latest Yakusoku no Neverland Volume they are chock-full of action - for the first time in the series we get simultaneous 1-on-1 fights on top of a big all-out war. We get some good character development for most of the main cast and Seth's team gets a new member (Ocoho, the girl on the cover of the fifth volume - just an awesome, badass, and fun character all around, shame she won't be in this season of the anime). Finally, Volume 10 ends on a more fun and light hearted note and starts hinting at what's coming in the future.

The next volume was supposed to come out next month but the author missed a deadline so it's reported to around March next year... It's gonna be a long wait.

But otherwise for all you English-speakers, a fan has started translating the manga into English. From what I've seen of it it's quite obvious English isn't their native language, but it's not Duwang tier either lol - it just sounds kinda weird.

Green Mechanic Volume 1

A French-language shounen manga from a Swiss author. I originally ordered it to kinda pad my order because paying 18 euros in shipping for just 2 volumes was a bit much haha.

The story takes place in a future where outside of main cities the earth is just a bunch of deserts littered in trash and the average life expectancy is 35 years of age. The main character, Misha, is a teenage girl with the ability to sense other people's feelings. Due to that, she doesn't go out much and tends to keep to herself, as it can be quite overwhelming. The manga starts as she discovers a morphing robot and repairs it, asking it to take the form of her long lost (boy?-)friend. She then begins meeting other people and learning about the Ersatz, humans that were contaminated and can turn (voluntarily or involuntarily) into grotesque monsters. After the basics of the world are laid down, she starts looking for that long lost friend with the help of her morphing robot and her new acquaintances.

This volume mostly sets up the world and the main intrigue, and concentrates a lot on developing Misha as a character as she starts to learn how to interact with other people and take initiatives. There are a couple of short action scenes, but they do not seem to be what the manga is focusing on so far.

In terms of art, some of the panels are pretty cool (kinda hard to find pictures online but this article has two), the Ersatz designs are grotesquely well done, and the author likes playing around with the panels arrangements which can be interesting, but I guess nothing really made me go 'goddamn' so far.

I think a fair assessment is that I am interested but I'm not loving it either yet. I think it could become pretty good but I'll have to see how things evolve in the next few volumes - apparently they're a bit more heavy on the action side. I'll probably order the next two (or maybe three if it's come out by then) volumes at the same time as the next volume of Radiant in March next year.

Manga-Era I need your recommendations for adventure sci-fi manga. I wanted to know if there is any manga about planet hopping adventures, like some one piece in space kind of thing maybe. Doesn't have to be shounen, I think I actually prefer it to be seinen really, but anyway, anybody know anything like that?

The first that came to mind would be Astra Lost in Space. It's fairly short (49 chapters), so it's not exactly a grand adventure, but more of a mystery/adventure, but I'd give it a try. It's free to read on VIZ' website.

no why did they give him all those books. Little childish Rinka was pretty hilarious.

Especially his fit when Shiro beat him.

Seiya Himekawa is kind of dumb, why go all out like this, that will onyl make R.S. even more suspicious of you :(

Unlike some other series you really do care about the strategies and characters involved in this series. Favorites all over the place.

I cant wait for Hyuse to surprise, as well as Taichi.

The Seven Deadly Sins

Something tells me Escanor is gonna get Worf'd here even using The One. I'm betting on him holding off Zel long enough for Mel to get back to his body and just stomp out all of the demons on his own to make him look strong.

This Man 19

This mystery manga is shounen as fuck and I love it.

Kimetsu no Yaiba 131

I think Tanjirou is one of my favorite protagnists ever, even if I usually don't like the naive overly optimistic type he's so frank it wraps around to amazing.

This was probably one of the best weeks of viz shonen jump in a long time. I actually had a hard time picking a top 4 this week because every series deserved a nomination.

I don't think defeating everything under the sun by yourself needs to be the goal of someone who wants to be the pirate king or the most free person in the world. You clearly need allies to take on Kaido, and that doesn't betray the notion of becoming a king of the pirates especially considering the large number of allies Luffy has gathered across his journey. The Luffy rescue arc involving everyone of his friends who isn't dead is now going to happen and maybe he'll become buddies with kid too.

Destroy All of Humanity. It can't be regenerated. One Shot
While I don't know anything about magic the gathering, I decided to check this out because of YOKO. Pretty enjoyable. Kind of reminds me of High Score Girl but is late 90s instead of early 90s.

Hopefully the actual serialization has a better title lol. The hinting of some world ending prophecy is pretty odd when compared to the content of the one shot.
