Fuck no. Whats revolutionary about it? Name one thing
Most realized open populated world ever.

Most realised atmosphere of a slice of time in a video game.

Best horse testicles in a video game, by far.

...there's 3 for you.

Its not as blatantly cut and paste as say AC Odyssey but I already saw repeating stranger missions all around me, the stagecoach, train and store robberies and hunts are all the same, and I dont think dinosaur bones, treasure maps and cigarette card collections are worthy of any mention

I've only encountered 2-3 repeating things in my 50 hours so far, compare it with any other open world....then come back to me with a more non-repetitive 50 hours anywhere else in open world gaming (if you can, kudos though, happy to be proved wrong).

Also just to repeat - can people be more sensitive with spoilers. Even saying what a certain character does in later chapters is a massive spoiler unless it is a character like Abigail who was in the previous game of course lol we know she makes it.
Agreed. Shit like "Playing Chapter 5 and OMG Hosea" (this is just an example, im not on chapter 5) is really god damn annoying.

Is the Jim "Boy" questline bugged? I found Black Belle, but not the other two gunslingers. Still on Chapter 3.

Once again, which honor story missions are cut and paste? And which stranger missions? The ambient ones or the actual stranger missions? Because I've done pretty much all of them and while the ambient ones are largely of the same ilk, there's a ton of the "actual" stranger missions and honor stories that are standalone side missions that span chapters and have a ton of depth.

All of the big stranger missions are different. All of them.

Did you read and inspect the photos of each?

I feel that the hype killed some of the enjoyment for me. Yes, you can do more things than most open worlds and its more realistic but there are far more things you now expect to be able to do which you cant do! Why cant I enter some buildings especially if a cutscene had someone enter it? Why cant I kick the fish that jumped out of the pond back instead of clumsily picking it up? Why is there just one throw animation and I cant toss people into windows, etc? Why is every interaction merely defuse or antagonize? Why is the bounty system so broken and lawmen appears out of thin air? Why when I smash running into a store and break a window the shopkeeper doesnt care? Why are the seasonal changes only limited to particular areas? I can go on and on.

Plus, the rain looks worse than in Horizon or Driveclub which is paradoxical for a game filled with so much detail elsewhere. Oh and the npcs in the theatres.. look so so bad.

I think

It technically ends once you loot the jewelry box? I think that counts as a "stash" for the home robberies thing?

Not sure if this is exactly the right place for this but it's semi relevant as I'm not sure if it's a Red dead issue or just Xbox.

So with RDR2 I bought an Xbox one X (my first xbox since the OG), can someone tell me how resume suspend works for Xbox? It seems to be so so inconsistent. Sometimes it goes right back into the game and others it's a full relaunch.

Am I doing something wrong? More often than not I get distracted / go out with it in the pause menu so I assume it goes to sleep, when I return I never know if it's going to be a full relaunch or just right back to the pause menu.

Got wayyyyy used to just never thinking about it with heavy vita usage and can't retrain myself now.

Could someone give me a quick yes or no on whether or not certain stranger missions become unavailable
when going into the epilogue?
No spoilers please :)

You can visit her even if she doesn't have a marker on her.

I have the same problem with the x. It just sometimes seems to shut all the way off and I have no control over it. Sometimes sleep/resume works sometimes it doesn't.

I'm sort of feeling lost in the middle of chapter two right now. I guess I need to explore a little more as I've completed all of the story stuff except for one mission that I don't think I'm ready for. Any tips on getting rid of a bounty (I have two that are between $150-300). Should I just offload my money at camp via donation and serve jail time?

Got spoiled by looking up a character and finding out he/she (trying to be vague) is the main antagonist.

Well shit :/

Well that sucks :/ Such a shame as am loving the console other than this.

I know it will bug me more and more over time too.

Yep, just upgrade the camp and surrender yourself.

You should have enough money to pay your bounty. Unless you wasted it all. :P

Go to a mail office and pay. It's an option.

Spent like an hour yesterday trying to find a 3 star badger and squirrel. Totally worth it for the satchel. Hunting is so fun!

I agree to an extent, though i understand that there are limits to how far the simulation can be pushed. The one that stood out most to me was heading back into the bar after the first bar fight in Valentine, trying to loot bottles from behind the bar and finding that I couldn't; another was trying to trade in the big black horse that Hosea gives you. I stopped outside the stable dismounted, went to lead the horse by the reigns, but there was no option. Went inside to speak to someone instead (leaving the horse outside) and the two men in there were completely non-interactive. Walked around the building looking for someone to talk to, but there was nothing. Turned out that what I need to do was climb back on the horse and ride it directly into the stable to trigger a cutscene.

BotW occasionally suffered with inconsistencies like this too, but they're way more apparent in RDR2, particularly with all scripted missions.

They should have never given you a leather jacket, vest, and the option of buying a flat cap and fingerless gloves right at the start of the game. I'm never going to be a cowboy outlaw in this game now. I'm a city street gangster.

It's not about any one thing. It's about the whole. If you sit there, and look at Watch Dogs 2, and compare and contrast with RDR2, and think "well, these games are basically the same!", then I don't know what to tell you.

But if I had to name one thing, it'd be the persistence of the world. Not a single game out there does it anywhere close to RDR2.

.

What do you mean by persistence? I agree with the other poster in tht the game isnt anywhere close to revolutionary, but it still remains very good.

Made it to Chapter 3 yesterday, got to spend some time with Sadie. Also completely changed Arthur's look to go along with it, only to find that everyone else at camp did the same thing. Posers.

Aside: I wish Trelawney was voiced by Paul F. Tompkins.

Me and my lovely horse, Rafalca:

reddeadredemption2_20kndiq.jpg

She's the first horse I got from the stables in Valentine; she may not be the fastest steed, and she spooks real easy (probably due to all the times I smashed her head-first into a tree or toppled her down a misjudged steep slope) but she's always been there for me. She loves oat cakes.

Any word on when the official soundtrack will drop? Some tunes are simply too amazing not to be reheard.

Speaking of world persistence. Sometime in Chapter 2 I did a mission for Micah that involved stealing a stagecoach which Micah proceeded to crash next to a river. Ten hours later, I was on horse autopilot while texting with a friend when I hear my horse scream. I look up and find Arthur floating face-down in the river, and my horse collapsed in a heap. We crashed into that ruined stagecoach and Arthur got sent flying.

I would've expected that coach to have disappeared from the game world by now (the enemy coach that spawned during that mission DID despawn), but apparently not.

I think it was pretty obvious as soon as they were introduced, wasn't it? I have not finished the game yet (still relatively early on in St. Denis) but I am really curious to see how the events which lead to the outcome of the first game unfold. Love this reverse storytelling a lot.
