And what law would that be?If he is legally required to handover all documents, under what capacity could he keep personal copies?

Of course it's good. Sessions is terrible. Next guy will be just as bad.
He was essentially fired. Had he refused he would have been firedThe thread title is still misleading. Too many people see this as a resignation even though it most definitely wasn't.
Trump - MUELLER, YOU'RE FIRED
Two months later.
Democratic House - And now here's the new special referee
GLASS SHATTERS
Jim Ross - BAH GAWD, THAT'S BOB MUELLER'S MUSIC!
Mueller got receipts in multiple places to avoid something exactly like this, I'm sure.
You are right of course. This would be a setback but a very minor one.we dont need a mueller restart we need all the evidence he has collected and everything to continue without a hitch.
Is there anything preventing all the documents compiled by Muller to be destroyed before January? There's nothing preventing from happening is there? By this admin of course.
Yeah, the new acting AG is an evil fuck too, so I'm not celebrating. All this does it put Mueller's investigation directly under a Trump stooge and no longer with Rosenstein. He will try to block the release of any info from the investigation or obstruct it through shitty loopholes.

Whitaker is also another Anti-Clinton Loon who wrote he would Prosecute Hillary Clinton under the Espionage Act in 2016 so god only knows what else will start beyond screwing with Mueller
A flash drive. Is there anything preventing all the documents compiled by Muller to be destroyed before January? There's nothing preventing from happening is there? By this admin of course.
My brain says you are right, but my anxiety about this admin won't let me believe it's just going keep moving forward. This man was the head of the FBI for 12 years, he's planned for every eventuality. Especially the most obvious one.

Schumer says he finds the timing of Sessions' resignation "suspect." He says protecting the Mueller investigation from interference "is paramount." Hopes Senate Republicans would join Democrats in "thwarting" any constitutional crisis targeting Mueller.
That needs to be re-visited IMO because while I think it would be worthy of protesting, the impact of such a firing has been drastically mitigated with the Dems taking the House. They can re-open the investigation Day 1.
Probably enough time to get rid of any evidence that was gathered against him and his family. Hope Mueller has a plan for this.
The Independent Counsel existed because of a law that was passed after Watergate. The law was allowed to expire in 1999. The Special Counsel is a position that can only be appointed by the AG.

Just like Kemp's fuckery in GA... They're playing Americans for fools.
They're getting away with it. Sadly.I think it's safe to say that a very large number of Americans truly are fools, in the worst ways.

Schumer just heard the Sessions news during his press conference, says "protecting Mueller and his investigation is paramount, it was create a constitutional crisis if this was a prelude" to Trump ended Mueller investigation...
Here's the moment Schumer spox @mattwhouse handed his boss a note during his press conference saying AG Sessions had just resigned.
