Finally. I wasn't sure he was ever going to upload another video. I saw that his latest video was a channel update a month ago and assumed it announced him quitting without watching it.
He basically said he wasn't making enough money on Patreon to do it full-time, so he'd have to do things more sporadically (if at all) if he couldn't get his income up. Well, that was enough to get his Patreon income up quite a lot, past his goal, so he's full-time now. I hope it lasts and works out for him. I love his videos.
He almost exclusively shits on right wing/PUA/etc stuff though. His videos almost always have a left lean. And I explicitly stated that he's a comedy channel.
New one looks pretty good, its basically a complement to the immedietly previous one, focusing a bit more on the way that argument becomes a frame for posturing
He always came across to me as someone that rips the piss out of terrible/stupid people rather than taking a side. Just seems odd to have him labelled as be someone who does anything other than that.
I didn't follow Gamer Gate when it originally happened. I think I was nose deep in college at the time and to be honest it was such a bizarre flurry of noise it was hard to follow the plot. I didn't really understand it other than "Gamergaters are bad news" . This series is such a definitive description of Gamer Gate and it's timeline that the internet should auto post these series in response to anything about Gamer-Gate.
I don't want to ruin his channel for anyone, but it's worth noting that he's collaborated with some shitlord centrists before (did a collab video with Boogie2988 and had a cameo in an idubbbz video). I don't think this makes him inherently bad, the content he makes is still hilarious in a bubble and this info doesn't really make me think lesser of the videos themselves but I would hesitate to call him leftist when the content he makes isn't inherently leftist (like someone else said, just taking the piss out of objectively terrible people) and he aligns himself with people who "both sides," political issues.
He hasn't "both sides"d himself in his own videos, in fact in his election video he made fun of people like that iirc. I think his ironic nature of acting the opposite way of his actual position makes it seem like he's never endorsing a specific view, but I can't see how his channel is anything but a left lean on the issues. YMMV I guess.
Not really sure why we are giving Secular Talk the time of day. He unironically uses the term sjw and has had people like The Amazing Atheist on his channel.

Yeah TaleSpun brings more good evidence to not take Kyle seriously. And to be clear to Inuhanyou , these days I always make it clear to not accuse Nina Turner of being a fake progressive like Kyle Kulinski is a fake progressive and I can explain why.
On the recent November 7th Election Day, Nina Turner was retweeting all sorts of tweets in which were saying how proud they were to have voted that day and that everyone else should vote too. You know why? Because wanting people to participate in a democracy is something that comes NATURALLY to a real progressive. I may have my minor disagreements with Nina Turner, but I know that at the end of day what she is trying to do is push the for Reform of the Democratic Party NOT disunity among the progressives. Nina knows that progressivism is about progress and progress comes from not just the top of the race but every little seat that someone runs for which is why it's so important that people vote.
In comparison, people like Jimmy Dore, Kyle Kulinski, Michael Tracey, etc, did NOT do any vote encouragement on that Election Day because they are not REAL progressives and thus do not actually give a shit about making real progress.
Also, on the day that Paul Manafort was arrested, Nina Turner retweeted the CNN article about Manafort being arrested, because while Nina doesn't want Dems to lean too much into relying on JUST the Russia stuff, she doesn't deny it as an actual thing that has been going on.

Kyle did advocate voting though. He said up and down during the general that if you are in a swing state, you should vote for Hillary. if you are in a solid blue state that is in no danger of being flipped, you should vote for who you want. He has said that if he was not in new york and was in a swing state he would have voted for Hillary. but instead because he was in new york voted for the person he most felt represented his value system.
Again, you keep making the same false points without really thinking about it...you can't call someone a fake progressive if they are not a "fake progressive", you dont have the authority to call people names like that. Especially if they
A. support livable wage
B. support universal healthcare
C. support ending money in politics
D. support social justice advocacy including even divisive things like black and brown reparations and female equal pay measures and LGBTQ empowerment like Kyle does.

Furthermore uses the term "SJW" specifically in regards to people not letting the right speak on college campuses, and not anything else. He is 100% social justice, to the point of alienating a small percentage of his userbase when he brings up black disproportionate incarceration and the war on drugs being a part of our broken system or BLM as positive forces for change.

Twitter is a horrible form of communication especially for topics that require nuance. If you label someone a fake progressive, I do think you should put more effort into finding out what they actually believe, than just judging them based on there tweets.
If I just judged Destiny on his twitter I'm pretty sure I could make a strong case of him being a racist or something.

Both of those tweets are directly cribnotes from the video. And can be easily taken out of context. Someone could easily get the "see he's saying both sides to leftism and white nationalism!" when he's not saying that.
He's saying that a right winger would probably say the same thing about a left wing story done to give humanity to a normal Muslim who joined a terror group and became a jihadist because of a extreme situation in their lives due to extreme upheaval.
So you have to divorce the perceived 'tone' NYT story itself and judge whether or not the NYT author is merely giving context to why this otherwise normal guy is apart of a white hate group, or whether or not the author is actually attempting to normalize the concept of white nationalism itself through this guy's mundane behavior.

Also, to anyone who is interested, i really enjoy kyle's content because he gives nuance and context to Muslims in the middle east in regards to all the different factions, like the moderate non violent sects versus the fundamentalist jihadists sects.
Nobody i follow, even in general political channels gives such a nuanced take on how normal Muslims suffer against extremist oppression, so i'd recommend watching this recent video he did on that Egypt attack, really illuminating stuff.
