I do think he is making an interesting point and I am surprised at all the reactionary answers in here.
We are being sorted in all kinds of boxes for whatever statistical purposes – gender, "race", sexual orientation, age etc. One by one we are starting to realize that these can be sometimes arbitrary constructs or at least definitions that don't work for many of us.
His reasoning mentioning Tinder is silly but I think it's good that this question is being raised.

There's no scientific basis. Therefore it's a dumb joke and an even dumber analogy.

I have many opinions on this. The most prevelant is how everyone is hating on him. He used name and gender as a comparison. He didnt go to court and say 'I hate trans people so make me younger to show them up'.
He feels, physically and mentally, younger. So he wants to change his age to reflect what he feels comfortable with. Anyone taking this as a personal attack is ignorant and self absorbed I say. Its not all about you. Consider his feelings.
If you can prove to me that he is anti trans then I'll accept it. But it seems to me he is genuine and everyone is getting pissed off over it because what? Their identity issue is bigger and more important?

EDIT: It does seem that he supports Trump. Which is a disconcerting sign. I still think he may be genuine though.

I could be wrong here but I don't think Trans people argue their physical anatomy they argue a dysphoria between their physical self and their mental self. This doesn't apply to age since you would be arguing that you didn't experience the last 69 years as years but instead something shorter. The chronological period of a year is not fluid.
I consider myself a progressive person, I'm all for recognizing gender and sexual orientation in non-binary ways, for example.
But honestly, we've over compensated so much over these past few years, I feel things like these were a matter of time.

A birth year is not fluid. He is trying to change the date of his birth. But the date of his birth is actually that. It has nothing to do with feeling something. I could say that I 'feel' that the Twin tower attacks happened on 03-05-2013, but that would simply be bullshit. Same with Emile's birth date.

See above. Homosexuality was considered a disease until recently. Same for transgender matters. Scientific bases and that is often good. There certainly is a lot of ageism in society. I think it's good that we look at this topic and try to decide wether or not it makes sense that so many things are decided based on a number.

So what happens when an adult determines with a kid that that kid is actually much, much older beyond their years! And coincidentally they want to get married or start a consensual relationship, since kids that feel like adults *are* adults! Age is fluid, after all.

There is no reason to take this concept into consideration. Transgender identities are backed up by science while transracialism, otherkin, and this new nonsense are not with a lot of them being used specifically to mock and attack our identities. No I said why it's a trash opinion. Transgender is a legit medical condition. Even in the bad days when they called it mental illnesss and tried to change the brain it was classified as medical. It's not that it's a medical issue that has changed it's the classification and treatment.
