I would assume it would work like any other form of paymenteven if the preorder is already made? I still have to pay 100 so it fits perfectly, but I'm not sure if this can be applied to that preorder I have.

Or a Roku or Chromecast. Is the only way to watch digital movies on a TV is with an Apple TV?
I've never redeemed digital movies before so I have no idea if they are all played on the same source.
As long as you have to still pay for it, you should be good. A problem I could see is if you have paid completely for the preorder.even if the preorder is already made? I still have to pay 100 so it fits perfectly, but I'm not sure if this can be applied to that preorder I have.

Yeah, I have a pretty low-end Vizio and it has the Vudu app, as does my son's hand-me-down Vizio from like 5 years ago.
Also, PS4, Xbox One, pretty much everything these days has Vudu and/or MoviesAnywhere.
If you redeem on iTunes I think you need an AppleTV because I don't think the iTunes app is available anywhere else (besides PC.) I always just use Vudu and with MA, Google Play links as well. (Probably others but I try to stick to one ecosystem.)
So it'll either require Vudu or Apple? What about Ultraviolet, I see that posted a few times.
It doesn't help with my confusion that the latest sellers just call them "digital movies" without stating which service it has to run on.
And if it's a digital 4K movie, will the quality be the same as if it were straight from the disc?
Ok, so UV can be redeemed with a couple different services, Vudu being the most common and the one I use. With MoviesAnywhere, which is a new service, it's increasingly irrelevant where you choose to redeem, as they'll port to various other services. It's finally getting standardized, so if you own the movie, you can watch it wherever you choose.
Technically, codes can be split. If you know how, a code that should provide one redemption can provide two, traditionally UV and iTunes/Google Play. I would advise avoiding split codes, but I don't think I've ever seen them here. That's more of a digital movie collectors group thing.
99% of what you see being sold here is UV. I like and recommend Vudu for its simplicity, but again, more and more, it doesn't matter and you can switch between services/apps if you find one you like more.
4K can be tricky. Some need to be redeemed on certain sites to get a 4k version. And id recommend redeeming on vudu over movies anywhere. Redeeming on ma doesn't give you a in license, but redeeming on vudu should give you both. Thanks, that makes things easier.
Though again, I'm wondering about their quality, particularly the 4K downloads when compared to their original disc releases.
