Thought it was Jaffe himself being a douche, don't remember Colin making a comment on it. Wouldn't doubt it though.

Well, this is disappointing. What a bizarre collaboration man. I just don't get why you'd think this is a good idea, especially this early on.

I'm going to keep my patron pledge at the 1 dollar tier for access to CoJ and wait and see how this evolves. Though uh, that won't be particularly helpful if Jones is going to be this vague about things. I'm disappointed he seems to be afraid of addressing a lot of people's concerns in the latest episode, even if his thoughts aren't what some of us want to hear I'd at least like to hear him voice them. It's a disappointing response from what I've watched.

Colin or any folks like him becoming even remotely evolved with EZA is where I draw the line. But I do believe Jones means well so I doubt this'll happen. Still, Jones seems like a progressive, accepting guy. I just feel like Colin isn't someone you should be accepting to this degree. Sorry, but he very much falls in the hate actions category to me, and Jones clearly isn't going to be confrontational here. No offence but he's pretty milquetoast when it comes to these things. And Jones is supposed the face of EZA. Honestly, I feel like he needs to understand that if you aren't going to speak up an appearance can be read as an endorsement by EZA as a whole even if it's not meant that way. That's my biggest issue with his more diplomatic stance.

If I never hear anything about any of this kind of stuff again (I mean I sure as hell won't be listening to Jones' guest appearance) I'll probably be okay with things in the end. But what I'd really like to see if for the Allies to take a stance as a group more often. Some of his CoJ responses really don't really feel that way to me, but Jones does say he wants this too, so I'll believe him. If that's a change I notice from EZA in the future I might actually feel somewhat happy about this whole endeavor in retrospect. Fingers crossed.

Anyway yeah, definitely hoping for the best for Huber and his family. :(

I also don't like Jones collabing with Colin. It would be one thing if he were going to hash out some of the controversies and have a fruitful debate. But I doubt that will happen since it doesn't seem like Jones' personality, more likely it will just be normal video game talk.

He did but that was on an episode on the Gamescast where they were talking about gaming personalities they liked, Tim said Kyle Bosman and Greg said the only thing he'd seen was Kyle saying KF was less than kinda funny.

Perhaps there's been more stuff but I haven't listened to KF for months now.
Fwiw KF got way better since Colin left and they regularly give shout outs to EZA (or Tim does anyways, not sure how Greg feels about them)

You are still talking about a person that made derogatory comments about Kyle Bosman on a LIVE PUBLIC PSX PANNEL STREAM.
Why would you want to associate yourself with someone that insulted a close friend of yours like that.

Wow, I forgot that even happened. Colin and Jaffe went out of their way to shit all over Bosman for a silly joke. It was so great to see Shu come up right after and defend Kyle.

Tim loves EZA. I'd be down to see Tim on some EZA stuff, he's really grown as a host/presenter in the last couple years.

I've been really busy in the last month and haven't followed the thread, but I've seen the patreon CoJ post and wanted to chime in. I really, actively, don't like Colin. That said I can understand Jones wanting to do a collab with him, even though I don't like the idea, and I'm certainly not pulling my patronage over this.

However, what I don't understand is Jones doing such a thing with Colin first. We've been saying for months, if not years, that the Allies need to do more collabs, appear on other gaming shows/channels, do more events, especially charity ones. Yet, one of the first collabs they do after months and months is with Colin, one of the most controversial and hated figures in the games media at the moment.

That sucks. If they did something with Mega64, Tim from Kinda Funny, Giant Bomb, What's Good Games, Danny O'Dwyer, Screw Attack, the AVGN, GameXplain, DYKG, Jim Sterling or literally anyone else first, it'd be more bearable to have Jones go there. The fact that after months of promises about eventually collaborating with someone, he goes to Colin's show first out of all options is disappointing.

Incredibly disappointed that Jones would decide to go on the show of a known racist and sexist. Especially because I don't think Jones is anything like that.

Colin isn't getting involved in any EZA content so I won't get too upset. But it's just disappointing.

But on another note, my thoughts are going out to Huber and his family.

maybe it has to do with colin starting videogame coverage again and asking jones for help/a favour/to collab. and jones being respectful of the fact kindafunny really did a lot to help eza at the start. i think it shows the character of jones, that even though he doesnt agree with colin and knows that its going to rile up the community, he is going to help someone who helped him.

There's one thing that really make this whole thing really puzzling:

Even if you remove Colin's political views and comments out of the conversation. Lets say he is just a regular guy in the industry with nothing controversial attached to him. You are still talking about a person that made derogatory comments about Kyle Bosman on a LIVE PUBLIC PSX PANNEL STREAM.
Why would you want to associate yourself with someone that insulted a close friend of yours like that.
Because that was David Jaffee, not Colin. Although he did it on the Kinda Funny PSX stage and Colin laughed at it.

Its not hard to say no to someone who helped you in the past who currently expresses some racist remarks, if he felt that way then current Kinda Funny have expressed interest in colabs.

I've said enough about the other guy's show in this thread. What I want to say now is how much I appreciated Jones's show today and Ian's subsequent series of tweets on the subject.

We dislike some other content producers because they are only interested in outside perspectives that absolutely mirror their own. Anything else is dismissed, even attacked. The Allies are taking a different approach, and what I'm hearing from them is: We can't make everyone happy, but we do want to understand, so let's have a conversation. At this moment in the gaming industry that's a message I am especially grateful to hear from people that I feel are genuine.

To be perfectly fair concerning the "first collab" thing, Jones had been on the Gamescast in the "Void Month" between GT and EZA and he's been on the GameOverGreggy Show as an EZA member. So this isn't really the first time Jones has been elsewhere. It's also not the first time an EZA member has made an appearance elsewhere as I know Bosman has been on other podcasts since the creation of EZA and I think Damiani might have as well.

That was just to be perfectly fair. Otherwise, the Colin collab is shitty.

Fwiw KF got way better since Colin left and they regularly give shout outs to EZA (or Tim does anyways, not sure how Greg feels about them)

Honestly when I stopped listening to KF, it was because I had started liking their work less and less and Colin's departure was the final excuse I needed. Since then I haven't seen a single Colin or KF video and while I won't be watching Colin stuff anytime soon after the good folks in this thread showed me how much of an unapologetic and antagonistic shitty person he's been since his departure, I have been considering checking out KF stuff again. I miss Nick Scarpino and I hear Tim's been getting A LOT better as a host.

Also apparently they had Mia Khalifa on their show and I'm really curious as to just how the hell that happened.

I mean, I don't doubt Jones for a minute: he's a good guy and it shows in everything he does.

The fact so many people hate Colin yet end up accepting what Jones is doing anyway, speaks volumes about the trust the Allies in general and Jones in particular have from us. I didn't think for a second that Jones is being apologetic towards Colin's views or that he meant any harm by appearing in his show.

It's just extremely disappointing that they have to meddle in such muddy waters when there are so many better venues to express themselves and to have different communities get to know each oher and grow.

No hate or anger, just extreme disappointment.

Kinda Funny is way better now having three more members on permanent staff, Andy, Joey, Cool Greg, ( And Andrea Rene for regular CoHost for KFGD) has helped them make more content and diversify the group and opinions. The whole channel was suffering a few months before Colin left (partly due to Colin) and after but now its picked up a good pace and with them trying to get new guests in all their shows its nice to get the formula broken up, they are big enough that they can get developers or people like Gary Whitta (hes fucking great) to come and give their perspective.

I started watching the Mia video and I just had to stop, way too awkward knowing they've all probably fapped to her a hundred times. :P

Andy and Andrea are excellent additions to the podcasts (I think the others are more behind the scenes)

Good stuff! There was a time where I absolutely loved their stuff so I'll definitely check them out. (Need the right combination of school break and a nice podcast game to binge though)

In other news today. This might come as a shock but apparently discovering a leak in a house isn't fun!

I've been dealing with this all day. The leak is now fixed and now the water restoration people are here to start drying out the carpet/flooring.

It hasn't been cheap but so far the water damage hasn't been too bad. Not as bad as other cases.

There was a post here about how I was disappointed with cup on Jones but I deleted it because it wasn't a very well thought out comment. Just know that I miss when easy allies was just that, easy. I regrett every time I made a comment about wanting to see more collaboration.

After taking some time to think over cup of Jones I feel like Jones didn't actually say anything. All he said was I hear your concerns a bunch and read a couple comments. He did address the fact that people were worried about colins fan base infecting easy allies but that was it really. He didn't address comments about sexism or rascism. So he's either choosing to ignore those comments or he doesn't believe the tweets to be sexist or rascist. Either option doesn't sit well with me.

What do you want him to do?

I dramatically edited my comment so your post doesn't make sense now, sorry. My post wasn't very well thought out. I might try again tomorrow.

Edit again: I thought my edit would change my post you quoted, does that make sense. Anyways, my initial comment sucked. Ill do better next time.

Watching the newest Cup of Jones and i think his "response" to all of this is actually worse than him appearing on Colin's show. I'm surprised that Jones of all guys would talk talk talk and at the same time say absolutely nothing about the matter. He basically didn't do any positioning, only read pros and cons from the community and announced he would be on his show, i'm just not more disappointed because there is no cell in my body that feels Jones is a bad person or actually agrees with Colin's thoughts, but not a good vibe from all of this situation.

Huh, so he decided to go through with it. I'm not gonna lie, I'll (probably) watch/listen to it. Never before have I've been interested in Colin, well not that I'm so interested in him now either. But I want to see if this controversy is adressed at all in the discussion. I'm not expecting them to have any serious debates about actual issues besides gaming. I'm not sure if Jones would be the right person to do that anyway. I'm sure Moriarty also has fans with questionable and even straight up hateful views and I don't want those inviduals to get any nearer to EZA. Unless EZA was more vocal about these issues, it could then affect some and help them grow as people. EZA has had (condemning of Nazis apparently got rid few of those) and sadly probably still has that kind of people as fans already.

That was one of the most enjoyable streams yet from the EZA crew. Absolutely hilarious and what an ending! I like the idea of having say four pieces of paper with mole on it out of 20 and then drawing from the pot so no one knows how many if any there are. I haven't laughed that much in a long time so thank you EZA!

10/10 stream. Great concept Tregard! Would love to see that become a recurring format like every other month!

If we could get it with all 9 Allies, there could be a tournament-style stream where each Ally would answer a small quiz between the rounds and the person with the lowest score would be eliminated, like the original show. One person would have to be Anderson Cooper in this way, but it might be cool to see it played out to the final 3. They'd have to be a lot more stealthy so as not to draw suspicion too early.

Not sure what happened with Hubers brother but that's rough to hear , hope whatever it was is something he can jump back from. On the topic of Brendon Jones deciding to have a chat with flagboy ... well you know what ? Brendan doesn't represent EZA and HIS values aren't Colins. Perhaps he feels he owes the guy something because KF helped EZA out when it first started ? before Colin said any of the most abhorrent garbage he's now known for. I don't necessarily feel that Jones deciding to talk about games is an endorsement of Colins politics but you know, there are repercussions - this WILL lose them patrons , possibly for good unless Brendon changes his mind. Honestly ? I'd be pissed and probably stop supporting these guys altogether if it went the other way (I'm only at the 5$ tier) but this isn't an EZA collab with flagboy. It's just Brendon sitting down or even doing a skype call for an hour with someone that helped him out in the past. Best course of action ? just voice your disappointment with his decision and don't watch whatever that chat ends up being. Unless Colins gross politics leak into EZA there isn't a problem with EZA or Jones for that matter.

I think the adjustment for the next Mole stream should be, do 10 slips of paper:

8 normal
2 moles

Guaranteed to get at least 1 mole, with the potential of 2
