Fuuuuuuckkkkk!!!!

Background. My xbox live account was set up ages ago in the UK. I now live in Germany

I bought Crackdown digitally when BC was announced. When I go to download I get the 'cannot download in your region' mesage. Ive had my region set to Germany since I bought my X at launch. Ive set the language to German aswell now. I STILL get the same message.

What the fuck do I have to do? Is it because its originally a .co.uk hotmail address?

Im desperate to play this game and this shit makes me want to break my controller!

Tried googling it, changing account region, followed all the steps. Same error.

How strange, I was in the same situation UK account, which had originally been Hotmail, I must have grabbed the digital copy in the past (Games on Gold at one point presumably) yet never played as my 360 was long gone.

I moved to DE a few years ago and though I initially set the account to Deutschland, I've left it as UK out of laziness more than anything, when it finally came to BC the other month I was able to download and play no issues.

No VPN or special steps or such, it just worked.

As I say my account was made in the UK and had a hotmail.co.uk address assigned to it until I grabbed my Xbone (fnarr) so I can't imagine it's that. Can you set it to remote download by using the web browser set to en-gb? Maybe that bypasses whatever is annoying it.

It's because Crackdown was never released in germany and you must have migrated your 360 account to Germany at some point.
The only way around this is to migrate your 360 account to another region where it was released.

This will however make it tricky should you want to buy 360 games in future, as you need a valid payment source from the region which you are purchasing.

Ah is it based on "360" account rather than a "Xbone" account (that whole thing about separate stores), can they be independently migrated (or could they be at some point)?

The 360 and Windows 10/Xbox Accounts are totally independent of each other.

You can change the newer system at will , you just need a valid payment method and be physically located in the region from which you are purchasing (they use Geo IP systems)

The 360 migration tool used to allow it to be change every 3 months, I was suprised it was 12 months now.

Gotcha, I knew about the stores being separate entities of course, but I didn't realise the accounts would be different, though it makes sense. It's been a long time since I had a 360 long before I moved to DE. I've also retained my bank in the UK so it maybe makes me an outlier in that I can use credit cards form either country.

Cheers EB :P

The Milky Way
I forgot how good this game looked at night with the neon signs etc. 4K really helps it shine. That's one area where Spider-Man really disappointed for me, there was only a small area in the city with neon signs and screens and not as impressive as during the day or sunset.

Also forgot how alive the city is in Crackdown. It's actually a little better than I remember in many respects. The platforming and climbing for orb collecting is still fun.

Of course it's extremely dated now in many ways, but it is over 11 years old. Nice to play it in 4K though and revisit it after all these years.

Is there a way that I can snag it in Germany?

I would like to know that too. Have tried already when it was on sale during summer, but eventually gave up.

Sometimes ...living in Germany is not all that great. -.-

Dammit, not available in Germany.
I'd have loved a digital copy :(

Even tried it via VPN, but it didn't work.

It didn't work for me in Germany, although I do use Paypal with the Austrian account, too... I never had any problems getting Dead Rising or Sleeping Dogs.

Heads up, MS seems to have fixed the issue. I tried it again today and could download it without problem
