I really wish it had been bumped down to Uncommon. Would've been sweet for my Uncommon Cube.Talrand is a sweet card but so feel bad from a rarity perspective.

Yeah, there's no amazing limited format possible that can justify 45-90 dollars for one try at it. This set is insane and I hope all the people with more dollars than sense enjoy it.
Yes, people are gonna pay full msrp.
Given how this set is shaping up it would have made sense from a value perspective for sure. I agree. But I'd wager the "draft power" excuse is the reason he's rare.I really wish it had been bumped down to Uncommon. Would've been sweet for my Uncommon Cube.
I feel like draft power should be less a concern in this sort of set, especially when the difference in power level between an Uncommon and a Rare for Limited is typically small.Given how this set is shaping up it would have made sense from a value perspective for sure. kyora not being the one casting the spell feels like a missed opportunity.

The original Modern Masters is currently going for around $500 a box (about $21 a pack), meanwhile this set has even more value in the box than the original Modern Masters. This is not a set that is going to stay at or below MSRP for very long once it goes out of print.
I had zero interest in buying boosters or doing drafts of Iconic Masters or Masters 25, but I am going face first into this set. I understand if people are on a budget and just can't afford a $45-$50 draft, but there's plenty of sense in jumping into this set if you can afford it.
If you are so gung-ho on drafting the set because it looks cool but can't justify the price, just draft it once or twice on MTGO. Phantom drafts will be $10, and normal drafts will be $24ish
But draft
Ugh. I hate that excuse so much for this sort of thing. It's only viable for like bombs that are easy to cast. This sucker is 9 mana and doesn't win the game on the spot. It's heinous.

I don't think they need to be worth money, but this isn't an exciting rare or even an overly powerful one. At face, even as a reanimation target, it is not great, and you have to untap with it at least once to really get even decent value for your efforts. It's a reanimation target (discard-heavy set plus Resurrection at common). I think it's a good rare for limited but I also don't understand the logic that every rare in the set should be worth money. Think it's fine that the scratch-off ticket doesn't always pay off.
I feel the odds are high. The question now is at what rarity?Yeah with all this R/G Madness stuff, they have to reprint Goblin Lore, right?
It doesn't seem like they've upshifted anything in this set? At least not anything that wasn't already upshifted. I would imagine it would stay at uncommon.
Speculators cold sweating in the meantime.
Not using that art on booster packs. Some are guessing it could be for Preordain instead.
