I only had it happen in one game, when I had one of those red card... Red Mist Pillager I think?... that multiplies if it hits the tower.

I generally like the UI in the game but I do think the extra units going off the side of the lane is awkward. Not sure how they can change it though.

I agree. I just makes countering those units a bigger chore. I'm so bad at this game right now, though, that it really doesn't matter.

I can copy the deck fine, but the game doesn't pick anything up. Tried using ctrl-c + v, tried using the copy deck button, tried just hitting the load button as I see someone else had the game auto-detect their clipboard.

I have a feeling this *might* be a bug with the Linux version of the game. Either that or I am an absolute idiot.

Does copying it successfully generate a link?
it should look like this if you paste it into your browser: https://www.playartifact.com/d/ADCJdcAMbgCHkcUhGq7AgKkAQFICxEPBRkHBQFBDUQdYAEKF9QEdwEB

The randomness really elevates my salt levels. First round my heros are placed up against stuff that instantly kills them, my hand has nothing playable that can save them, and my opponent is able to take out 2 heros and get 21 gold. How the hell do you come back from that?
After thinking about it, hero depolyment and arrows have to be random. Or a lot of things would have to be redesigned to not make squishy heroes suck ass

They're not doing it for no reason...

Having to wait a week or two to switch devices is less of an issue of someone losing an account with multiple $100 items on it and having more trouble getting it back because a new steam guard was applied to the account. I'm sure they could probably do something more intrusive and less time consuming for the player, but on a large scale it'd be a bigger undertaking.

Youre right. Im just venting a bit.

I am just pissed that I didnt know this would happen and did it while at work. If I would have been home I could have used my old device. It just sucks I wasnt hit with a warning or something first.

Just tested - sorry Nvidia driver took a little bit longer - Working fine for me.
Running on Fedora 29.

But yeah as Hektor wrote - is the link copied correctly? Do you have some clipboard management software in use?

Playing U/B econ control has made me fall in love with the game even more. Wanted to hold on to my second copy of Axe a bit longer but decided to sell it and a couple of other duplicates and that funded the remaining cards of this deck (mainly the Annihilations) but it was so worth it.

Played my first match with another human in the pre constructed gaunlet and got my ass handed to me.

I should play with bots but damn I hate playing with bots.

Also, love the presentation. It's really well designed and it's so good and invoking Dota!

Found the issue - was me being an idiot after all.

The link wasn't being copied correctly, but the difference was small enough for me to not even notice it. For example Hektor's link would be https://playartifact.com/d/ADCJdcAMbgCHkcUhGq7AgKkAQFICxEPBRkHBQFBDUQdYAEKF9QEdwEB

Loads the same on the website, but Artifact doesn't know what to do with it. It needs the www.

Don't mind that. I lost my first 4 games, but then went on a winstreak. What deck did you use?

Aw, man - I just lost 4 drafting matches in order. Either all of you guys are getting better or my drafting game is way off.

So you need to sign up and show up by 1PM EST to do your "draft"
And matches will start when people are ready to go.
Drafting speed will be up to me as admin so please don't take like half an hour to draft by reading up on every card lore and cross-referencing some database site.

Fridays 20 player tournament took about two hours for the finalists so keep that in mind

I think almost everyone showed up around the start time, but a lot of people were ready early.
defending champ eridani last minute addition to Mango 1.1
last call for entry

Finally started to get the hang of drafting and synergies and how many of each colors to heroes per slot and items. I'm not amazing yet but it's fun as well. Me and a buddy ran a couple of 8 man single elimination drafts through a discord last night and had a fun of fun.

Aw, man - I just lost 4 drafting matches in order. Either all of you guys are getting better or my drafting game is way off.
Ever since i glanced over Draw Two's draft tiers and studied a lot of synergies and got familiar with the colors and what works best with my play style i have gotten a little better but not that great. Takes time to get used to it, i am used to drafting Magic the Gathering for 25 years, Hearthstone and ESL since they came out and all games play differently. Just have to keep trying and trying. My biggest hurdle was picking the first hero cards that popped up now i work on getting synergy between 2-3 colors and picking up hero's as i go. As well as Weapons 3-5 packs in.

Figured I'd give Artifact a shot. I played years on years of Hearthstone and this is the first game that seems to scratch that semi-casual itch.

From starter packs was able to sell Axe hero for $15.50 and a Blink Dagger for $2, so I guess I lucked out.

Anyway, the game is really nice. Production values are top notch. Card prices don't seem too crazy. The entire setup is unique. There's a lot of mechanics so it doesn't seem quite as easy to get into as Hearthstone, but maybe not as crazy as Magic. Or maybe I just haven't played enough.

Here's a first draft of a Blue-Black deck which uses every single card with the Lock mechanic. I tested it against the bot and ended up with nearly my entire hand locked by the end of the game.

The return of Handlock. Hearthstone balancing problems even in Artifact. Damn you, Brode.

Aw man :( Wish I wasn't working so I could enter.

I'd probably lose right away anyways so I guess it doesn't really matter.

You're able to spectate the tournament if you're in it, but I'm not sure if it's possible from outside the tournament. Or at least how to do it.

I'm almost blown away by how good the tournament system is in this game. It feels like they put a lot of effort into it.

I was just coming to say that. It's faaaaar beyond what any other game is doing right now to support communities or friends playing together... and there's still more they could add to it.

Every PvP game needs a tournament feature.

Anyway I lost round 1 in a super close game. In hindsight probs should have just tried to take an ancient rather than abandoning that lane after I took the first tower. I had n oanswer for the many imrpovements I got hit with.

Is there a way to spectate the tournament?
Sadly no:( and I don't think anyone will stream because you could see their cards then, which also would be a problem with spectating.
A huge delay might be the only fix for that.

What is it with people conceding just before they lose the game? Just take it and move on.
Takes a little bit away from the victory.

This was there on release. And to think that Blizzard cancelled their tournament option for Hearthstone because they found their conception of it didn't look anything like what their players wanted.

Making a mistake in this game feels so much more demoralizing than other card games for some reason. Playing stuff in the wrong order, or TP'ing too soon or too late. So many damn things make a big impact and just become apparent as a mistake right after doing it.

its a race to see who makes the least mistakes and capitalizes on the other person's more!

Yeah, that's why I hope we get a replay function as soon as possible - just to check what went wrong.
There is currently no good way to analyse.

Did something change with plans or something? I was thinking early on in the announcement that a lot of that stuff was a big selling point as it was built into steam or something? I didn't even think about spectating and replays not being in it, but now that I think about it I feel like that type of stuff was a big selling point around announcement.

You can spectate in tournaments though, and tournamentents alone are actually a really cool feature.

Tournament 2: League
Since some people are having issues with the timings and it's hard because I can't micromanage everyone as admin I thought that we could have Tournament 2 as an ongoing December League + Single Elimination Playoffs.

*Find time in the week to play your opponent on your own time - contact them and make arrangements to play at a set time*
If the next opponent is available keep going, if not they have 1 week (not sure if this will work or if we should have EU/NA/SEA divisions but let's try it out)

***Both players lose via Admin if time cannot be made within 1 week, but the swiss is just seeding for the Bo1 single elim bracket"

Name Tango League Era 1
Format: I *think* what I've done is 4 round Swiss Bo1 into Bo1 single elimination into Bo3 Grand Final
Swiss Format (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Swiss-system_tournament) so it's not auto-lose if people who are in wildly different waking hours are matched up.
Default Constructed - all cards, but it's the same deck throughout
Spectate enabled

link: https://www.playartifact.com/tournament/?invitekey=2891921510846582079

Register your decks by Monday

the tournament was super fun! got to semifinals but couldn't quite clutch it out! Replay is definitely needed. Definitely made some mistakes and would love to go over the games.
