My phone has started recognizing me with a scarf over my mouth. Not sure if that is good or not, but it is convenient.
It's my most annoying iOS 11 bug. Was present from the first beta and is still here
What bothers me is that FaceID does not work at an angle. Looking at the phone, which is lying on the table from anything but the bottom is a no go.
It's only not a screen size issue if no UI elements are ever in the top 20% of the screen. Which will never be the case. And Reachability is not an acceptable UI solution, and never has been. That kind of jank should've stayed on Android devices.
Yup, and it doesn't seem to work when the phone is perpendicular to your face. I am not me when I wake up.
Well at least I now know it's not just me then!

Same combo I got, 256 Silver with the midnight blue Apple leather case.
I haven't been able to read through the whole thread yet so I apologize if it's been discussed already, but does anyone else notice a weird sort of shaded horizontal line/separation on the bottom portion of their screen? Sort of like where the screen would end if this phone still had the bottom bezel and home button. I notice it if I'm cleaning my screen, it sometime leaves a faint smudge on the bottom and I can clearly see the line across the screen.
Edit: can be seen pretty clearly if I tilt the screen...Also the phone:screen needs to be off/dark to see.

Now just to decide if I really want it or not. The fact that Face ID supposedly has problems with angles doesn't so great, considering that I have to look at an angle at the phone when I have it in the car.
Next stop: My local Apple Store to play around with the iPhone X.
I personally would pass. Just knowing the cracks are there would eat me up inside.
If you're cool with the cracks, I'd say it's a pretty good deal.
Not sure I'd risk it personally. Even with a case on I would assume those small cracks will probably get worse over time. Especially if you ever dropped the phone. And it costs $549 to get the back glass repaired because they have to replace the entire chassis.
Also kills the resale value obviously.
Have you looked into the iPhone upgrade program? That would cost $600 ($50x12 payments) for the 64gb model - instead of completing the full 24 month term you'd just upgrade to the iPhone 11 next year (which starts a new plan). And that includes Apple Care coverage too. I feel that's the better way to go.
Two things:
1) I'm really not sure who to blame, but I'm STILL having problems with using both Apple Music and Spotify. The phone just absolutely loves to default to AM... it's fine most of the time. But I subscribe to Spotify as well for the better custom playlists/discovery. So many times a phone call or moving to my car or pausing will temporarily stop Spotify... and when I hit play again, it'll default back to AM. The worst offender is the damn lock screen. I'm convinced you just straight-up cannot use Spotify from the lock screen any more.
2) My X' sleep/power/wake button suddenly today for no reason felt "mushy." It was missing its tactile click. I thought it was in my head, but I swear it's getting worse and worse. It works. It's not a HUGE deal. But kind of annoying. If it doesn't get better, I may try to flip it out. Anyone else having a similar issue?

Work pays for my cell bill so the upgrade plan isn't an option
Lol of course it kills the resale value that's why I'm getting $400 off now. That is a massive drop in the resale value. I could probably turn around and sell this thing for $600 a year from now
You must have some odd settings or something, because Spotify works perfectly for me (including lock screen)

Every single photo I take in portrait mode has red eye. I know how to manually tap each eye to remove it. Is there something wrong with the phone? My old six plus never had this problem.
I'm finding it really hard to justify not doing it when I typically put a case on my phone for the first year, then DBrand skin for the second year.
I'm largely in the same boat. I assumed this was an intentional choice by Apple to make Music a more attractive/convenient option.
I was going to suggest it is probably just a temporary images retention from some game you played for a long time, that's not optimised for iPhone X yet so it doesn't show full screen. But if you see it even with the screen turned off, that sounds more like a physical defect.
Google Maps is super broken on iPhone X. When doing turn by turn directions you literally can't do the swipe up home gesture
The X is kind of ruining other things for me. I got an iPad Pro 10.5 today. The screen is good but not on the same level of the X. And the lack of haptics and an old style home button... I dunno. I've wanted this thing for a long time but now I'm not sure.
