I love it. The idea of Lucifer having to legitimately play nice to stop Alt-Michael is great, and I'm just waiting for the showdown between Jack and Lucifer, with Jack potentially finally being the one to kill him.

But I honestly kind of like the idea of Lucifer turning somewhat good at this point. Could be fun.
That's what I mean. Its an excellent twist if they do it temporarily, but a permanent change will feel forced.

Lucy is amazing this season and I'm saying that after he killed my bae Cas

That's good to hear @_@ I can't wait to dig into the alt-earth scenes when it comes on Netflix, since I dig that kind of lunacy. I've been watching Gotham on the side >_> GOTHAM IS A GOOD SHOW AND I RECOMMEND IT. That's my hot take for tonight.

Gotham is the best Batman related media since TAS for the aesthetics alone. Everything else is an added bonus. I definitely can say its more then worth watching.

Holy crap.

That episode was amazing. I can't believe some of you are negative over it. Two legitimately surprising returns, the story is moving fast as well, exciting stuff happening all over the place.

That was so damn good.

It just didn't feel like Supernatural to me, more like some parody on steroids, with caricatural versions of characters and dumbass twists every two minutes.

And I don't think that's just me clinging to an old version of the show, because the previous episodes did not feel like that at all. They felt more focused, dealt with each character's state of mind a lot more, and generally just felt a lot less insane.

I'll just be waiting for the show to go back to its normal self, which thankfully shouldn't take too long, should be as early as next week. Buckner-Leming are just doing their own thing this season and something tells me Asmodeus (poor man's Crowley), washed-up Lucifer and Ketch will go MIA until episode 13.

And of course same goes for Castiel, because that character cannot be allowed to have more than one good episode at a time.

Yeah, I just don't agree with this. Earlier in the summer, I got through rewatching the entire series. It's changed, obviously, but I'm not remotely seeing where you're coming from in terms of a parody. Ketch coming back ins't jumping the shark or anything. Sam and Dean and Cas have come back over and over again, it makes sense that someone like him who is so deeply ingrained in the culture would have a backup plan.

And I don't think that's just me clinging to an old version of the show, because the previous episodes did not feel like that at all. They felt more focused, dealt with each character's state of mind a lot more, and generally just felt a lot less insane.

This was a hectic episode but they've had a few episodes over the past two years that made it a point to focus on a larger cast, rather than just Sam and Dean, and I've enjoyed it. I think that 13 years in, that's a good thing to do. It's honestly what I've been hoping for.

They're known to be the worst writers on the show and I agree. But I mean, this episode was very much in line with the ongoing arc this season. It wasn't their own thing. Hell, my fiancee ended up saying it was one of her favorite episodes in seasons. Haha.

and something tells me Asmodeus (poor man's Crowley), washed-up Lucifer and Ketch will go MIA until episode 13.

To be fair, that's literally how the show has always been. They go back and forth between the ongoing arc and the MOTW stuff. That being said, the mid-season finale is the week after next and that's part 1 of a two-parter so we should be seeing those people before episode 13.

As for Asmodeus, he is definitely a poor man's Crowley in a way but he's also actually threatening, which Crowley obviously wasn't for a long time. Honestly, I think Crowley is going to come back and kill him instantly and it will be very satisfying.

I feel like you're negative on the show a lot though. :P

Yes, Asmodeus is threatening, which is what Crowley needed to become a great character again. And since Asmodeus doesn't add anything new except an annoying accent, I don't see why we just couldn't keep Crowley.

Crowley is never coming back, Mark Sheppard burned some bridge when he left.

Hell yeah I'm being negative. I had a horrible time and I despise BuckLeming episodes (episode 2 was somewhat acceptable).

Episodes 4, 5 and 6 were good though, and it's even more annoying that they broke the streak.

I wonder why Asmodeus wants Rowena, I guess to jail Lucifer. I'm also guessing that is how they will defeat or attempt to defeat Alt-Michael, locking him into the cage, for that you would need Rowena.

Well the issue with Crowley was that the natural progression of his character was to fully push him towards Team Free Will, rather than regressing him into a full bad guy again.

Crowley is never coming back, Mark Sheppard burned some bridge when he left.

lol. Not a chance. They're playing a game with fans to bring him back with some big moment later on. If he burned a bridge, I doubt they would have had Dean mention he wanted Crowley back at all in the season premiere.

Crowley will be back. Asmodeus is not meant to be around for a long time, I promise.

Introducing Lucifer again is either the best or worst idea they have had these last two or so seasons, depending on where this is going. Like if he wants to defeat Alt-Michaal for ridiculing him and wanting to destroy Earth, okay its kinda funky because despite being Lucifer and the Big Bad of all Time, all he wants is the talking monkeys to stop soiling and defacing his ideal planet. But if losing his powers and gaining a son(LOL) turned Lucy into some sort of big softie and wants to also save the humans as well, then yeah just stop the show guys, you have gone too far.
Nah he's not becoming a big softie. He tried to kill the lady by snapping his fingers remember? Just he ain't got enough juice to actually do it.

I love it. The idea of Lucifer having to legitimately play nice to stop Alt-Michael is great, and I'm just waiting for the showdown between Jack and Lucifer, with Jack potentially finally being the one to kill him.

I don't want Lucy to ever die :( I know he's pure evil and stuff but he's just too damn hilarious.

I really didn't see alt universe michael becoming the seasons big bad, that's a neat twist.

Neither did I. That was awesome. He's not too different than our Michael either, he doesn't have much care for humans, and he was the one ruling over Heaven when God decided to leave and jump started the apocalypse and shit...I wonder if that universe michael did the same thing.

Great to see Kevin back, even if it was just for a few minutes. REALLY hoping they bring my beloved Gabe back.

Superpowered being losing all his powers is getting really boring.

Yup, but have a full-powered Archangel fighting for Team Winchesters would be a bit OP, and it makes Asmodeus an actual threat if Lucifer is weakened.

Just when the show seemed to have learned from its mistakes, they tease that annoying old Rowena may still be alive. Joy.

The episode was pretty good, but that didn't make me happy. The show relied too much on Crowley, Cas and Rowena, and they got quite annoying after a while. Cas used to be great, and has gotten better as of late, but he wasn't used well. And Crowley and Rowena just got on my nerves.

Please, god, no.

Here's my idea: we'll see Gabe again but in the alternate universe. It will be the same actor but with a completely different personality.

Then we find out later in the episode/season that it's actually our Gabe and he's been hiding out in the alternate universe this whole time.

Yeah... that's some long-ass game. Not buying it at all. Is his choice of skipping the entire lineup of US conventions (the only ones that are WB official) part of the game too ?

He was mentioned in the premiere because he was a super important character, but he was also left out from several lines of dialogue, he was just cut out of the promo pictures at Comic-Con, and the actors basically pretend he doesn't exist anymore.

Rowena is one of the worst characters in Supernatural's history. They should've just left her dead.

I agree. She absolutely ruined Crowley, made him weak and worst of all, dumb.

Besides, how about we take a break from character returns for a while ? Donatello, Cass, Billie, Ketch, Rowena maybe, and new versions from the AU. All of that in 7 episodes. I'd like death to mean something on the show again, and not just wonder in how many episodes a character will return after he/she's been killed.

These characters don't allow Supernatural to be what it's best at: good monster of the week with some story. I like Jack, and how he's fit in with that. But Rowena, Crowley...ugh.

Rowena gives me a headache

Nah, I love having characters come back like this. It's actually a change of pace. More, please.

But the witch episode last season with Rowena was very fun. So that's just not true.

If you want the standard Sam & Dean MOTW stuff, you have numerous seasons of that. Me? I want more of a focus on an ensemble cast of good characters at this point.

Looks like Eric Kripke is suing Warner Brothers claiming that he hasn't been getting his full share of the profits...

Kripke suing Warner Brothers... http://comicbook.com/tv-shows/2017/11/22/supernatural-warner-bros-profits-lawsuit/
Peter Jackson sues WB for full share of profits on Lord of the Rings.
George Miller sues WB for full share of profits on Mad Max: Fury Road
Eric Kripke sues WB for full share of profits from Supernatural.

I sense a common denominator here.

Yeah, more Kevin is good, more Rowena is bad. Kevin as an abused prophet who only wants some booty is pretty hilarious, but an all powerful Rowena who can't die just rubs me the wrong way. Okay because she has been around 300+ years I can assume she has used the 1-Up bag(or whatever its called) n serious times of need, but she has reached her peak before the show and she was just hanging on to scraps at this point. The cynic in me says that Rowena will come back, sure. But the optimist in me is hoping that as it involves Witchcraft there is a penny to pay, as in absorbing someones life force so the bag can even work. Where I am going with this is very simple, Crowley knew about this and let his mom die so that he can come back if something went horribly wrong.(It did) I mean, its the only way I can see him come back, and I can only assume they will use him as a Parallel to Ketch, with Him on the good side and Ketch on the Asmodeus Hype Train, two British assholes who both want to watch the world burn for their own reasons.

Can't wait for Michael to show up in the main universe to kick off SPN's version of the Goku Black arc.

This episode was actually pretty great. Tied into the main plot with that MOTW feel. Dean and the hand thing was truly hilarious.

Not enough Cas though, and damn it they need to figure out they are updating the damned demon who has him and not him, they aren't that stupid.

She is going to be torn apart by the disgusting fanbase. Like, the whole reason pretty female guest stars get offed from this show is so the fans can fantasize about having a chance with Jared and Jensen (and Misha now). Imagine how their minds will be torn apart when Jensen's actual wife appears.

How bad was it when Jared married new-Ruby?

Kevin's back, but he's a sadsack from an alternate universe. Lucifer had a son, he's a goddamned beast but is a good dude so far, Lucifer is back and weaked, and alternate universe Michael, who is stronger than this universe's, wants to conquer both worlds.

Oh, also, Crowley's dead.

Yea, the door opened last season. Actually, the last couple of seasons have been very good. Last season was decent, but the one before was one of the best. Had a really great main plot.

I'll have to disagree with this. I think the wives are generally treated with respect. Seeing lots of love on Twitter after this (pretty damn adorable) announcement.
