Default OP5T Oxygen OS doesn't even come with pre-installed Allo. There is pre-installed Duo though, I really should give it a whirl. Does it really have better video quality than other video calling apps?
Duo's actually really great. I was surprised at how good the quality was.
Allo ain't trash, it just didn't need to exist in the first place. I haven't used it since the first couple of months it came out, and that was mainly for the Google Assistant bot stuff.
Op5t is here. Camera is trash compare to my pixel 2 xl.
Vibration motor is trash.

I've used alot of phones. Nothing feels as good as OnePlus. They sprinkle some magic dust on them :P
The one underrated thing about the OP5T is that cool noise it makes when you plug it in for dash charging.
Never had the Pixel XL but the 5T camera is solid. Portrait mode is excellent, it's focus is fast and consistent, and pics are true to life. Indoor and low light though is still not up to par as the $800-1000 phones. The 2nd camera in the 5T is suppose to be tuned for low light but because the tech is new and different from the 5 so I wonder how tuned it really is. Perhaps a future update will improve it but it's still limited in low light due to the lack of OIS.
I thought the crushed black issue affected the 2 XL's rather than the 2's?
Pixel XL camera is overall better, but 5T isn't bad. Nothing is touching the pixel cameras right now. In good lighting there isn't much difference. In bad lighting Pixel jumps ahead.

Yeah I ran the grayscale video when mine arrived, had no issues.
I got 9 hours of screen time yesterday and still had 18% battery left.
I have 2hr45 right now and battery is at 80%.
I have the same SoT as you but at 44%. It's a useless metric because it depends on your apps and many other factors
Anyone else excited for the Honor 10? It could be a great alternative to the 5T but could be priced $100 cheaper. My Honor 8 was an extremely solid phone and gave me zero issues.

The point of Oneplus is a phone that costs half of what the $1,000 phones cost. If you want what's on the $1,000 phones, buy one of the $1,000 phones.
For what you pay, the value of the OP5T is unsurpassed. You give up things like best camera and waterproofing. But you do get to keep a headphone jack so it's not all bad. And from my experience I have never seen a phone charge as fast as this phone charges. None of the $1,000 phones can touch the charging speed or battery life of the OP5T and these are things that matter in day-to-day use.

the battery on my 6p died last week. if its not plugged in it dies. and it wont charge past 4% i replaced it myself in august so i contacted the ebay store i got it from. my replacement arrives today hopefully. but now im tempted to just buy the pixel 2.

its my favorite phone out of the few ive owned. and i really hope the battery issue doesn't happen on the pixel 2. wasn't an issues on the first pixel as far as im aware.
The first Pixel didn't have the Nexus 6 battery issue, but I will say that my non-XL Pixel 1 has shit battery life now. It doesn't last a day with regular use. That, combined with the USB-C port shitting the bed, is why I decided to bite the bullet and do the Essential Sprint deal.
I will say I was really happy with the Pixel otherwise, but I just can't deal with a phone that requires a midday charge anymore.

Been using my work pixel 2 as my main for a few days to switch things up but can someone please explain why I'm getting not only duplicate notifications like 2 notifications at once for the same thing, but also repeating notifications. Ever since work I've been getting notifications every 5-10 mins for emails I read hours and hours ago. Non stop.
I'm hoping this is an oreo issue that will be resolved in 8.1. Other than that, still the best android phone.

The new Hulu UI redesign is baller as fuck. Shits all over Netflix IMO in terms of look. Obviously functionally they are similar.
It looks really good, but I find it's way too much "form over function". Can't see nearly as much on screen as you could before. Plus it's slow to start (relatively).
I haven't gotten old notifications pop back up but I definitely had multiple instances of the same notification come up at the same time during my first day with the 2 xl. Hasn't happened since though

It's haunted. Better get a new one. Sometimes a background app can cause this so just make sure everything is closed properly.
My pixel XL 2 for some reason never went inactive last night and screen remained on.
i remember seeing similar effects on my 6p but not to this extent. checked for smudges?
It's switching the display off right now. I think my pillow cover kept brushing it so it stayed on, since I put the phone on my bed.

yeah I googled the double notification sounds and seems lots of people got it and apparently it's being fixed in 8.1, we'll see. But not a lot of people mentioning the second issue though some are flagging it. Guess we'll see since 8.1 comes out today doesn't it.
