I think they're already filming the second half of the season so based on when the announcement was I would guess she is part of the second half storyline.

Well it certainly feels like I'm watching a whole new series with beloved characters.

I wasn't sure how I was going to feel about this plot development and setting, but it has the right amount of tension keeping me very engaged.
... Also Coulson still has the best one-liners.

What if when they get back to earth they have to reel in some renegade heroes, and one of them is Dove as I don't know, maybe turbo or spitfire

Finally saw the premier and gotta say: AoS is the ultimate comic show.

You can put these characters into basically any situation now and it's awesome. The dynamics work, the writing is very strong, and the mysteries unfold quickly.

I just love it.

Special shout-out to Mack and his fantastic entrance.

Just finished S4. The Ghost Rider stuff was awesome, but the LMD and Framework arcs took it to another level. I have no problem calling this the best comic book show on TV now. Hell, it might just be the best Marvel property put on screen period.

And fuck, the Mack stuff got me good. Pretty much had full on tears by the end of the last episode.

Dove Cameron won't be coming till later in the season.

Deke appears to be full-time, at least for the first half.

I have a hunch they're gonna pull a reverse "4,722 Hours" and have an episode focused entirely on Fitz's attempts on solving this problem. It'll be an acting showcase for Iain de Caestecker and an emotional gutpunch a la Futurama's "Jurassic Bark" and "Luck or the Fryrish", or LOST's "The Constant" with the timey-wimey related stuff.

Or that's what I'd want to happen.

Episode 5 on Dec 22 is called "Rewind". From the title I'd speculate that the episode is gonna go back in time to show what happened after Fitz was left behind in the present.

Remember when people thought Ghost Rider was a bad idea for this show

Remember when this show was bad

yes, I do. And I'm really fucking astonished at how much better and confident it's now

also remember when Mack was the de-facto "look impressive but get beaten by a random mook every episode" guy? aka "The Worf"

That annoyed the shit out of me. Post shotgun-axe Mack is best Mack.

And I still maintain that there was low-key something there between him and Fitz.

I got some real Dead Space vibes from the opening hour of the premiere. Music was on point, as always. McCreary still killing it.

Superior Star-Lord and the mechanic girl are great new additions to the cast.

I can't remember the last time I got excited to watch network TV on a Friday...

Finally saw this (thought it was starting at 9pm on Friday, not at 8pm... whoops!), and I'm mixed but mostly positive.

All told I think the twist was cool, but I can't help but be disappointed because... while "prison colony Earth" is pretty cool, a true modern cosmic story still feels cooler to me. So it was sort of swapping one idea that I was super into for one that I'm kinda into. Thusfar I really can't see where they're going with this, or how they'll stretch it to ~10 episodes, but if the SHIELD staff is good at one thing, it's delivering a fun ride. So I'm definitely on board for wherever this is going.

New cast is fine, the evil Kree dude and his magic ball lady are both fine. A bit cliche but the visual identity of the ruling class is cool enough to make up for it. Deke is a bit boring, the same "surly, self-interested white dude" that we've seen from this show a lot, so he'll have to put in work to keep my attention. Tess is alright, she's sort of in the same space as him - jury's out until I see more (but the actress is gorgeous which, uhh, gives her a leg up).

More than anything though, as always, goddamn at their "ship" effects. They always looks SO much better than a network TV show has any right to. That scene with May piloting the trawler was super impressive, even by their already high standards.

So, end of episode 2 speculation..
whatever happens to earth will be shortly after they are kidnapped. Fitz rebuilds the framework and programs instructions on how to get back into the weather report, along with Aida as the backup bartender. I also like the idea of LMD fitz showing up.

It's looking like we won't see Fitz until the fifth episode on 12/22, based on the synopsis.

With the surprising help of Lance Hunter, nothing will stop Fitz from finding the lost team as his incredible journey is revealed, on "Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.," FRIDAY, DEC. 22 (9:01-10:01 p.m. EST), on The ABC Television Network, streaming and on demand.

"Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D." stars Clark Gregg as Agent Phil Coulson, Ming-Na Wen as Agent Melinda May, Chloe Bennet as Daisy Johnson, Iain De Caestecker as Agent Leo Fitz, Elizabeth Henstridge as Agent Jemma Simmons, Henry Simmons as Agent Alphonso "Mack" MacKenzie and Natalia Cordova-Buckley as Elena "Yo-Yo" Rodriguez.

Guest starring are Nick Blood as Lance Hunter, Joel Stoffer as Enoch, Catherine Dent as General Hale, Lola Glaudini as Polly Hinton, Lexy Kolker as Robin Hinton, Zibby Allen as Lt. Evans, Joy Layton as Lt. Lucas, Delpaneaux Wills as forensic officer, Anthony Bless as MP guard and Asante Jones as security guard.

Not a single actor from the recurring/guest cast in space so this might be completely based around Fitz.

I'm not familiar with how this works but are they going to add the new episodes regularly to Hulu? I'd assume so since they put the premiere but I don't know for sure. This is my first time watching the show fully caught up.

looks like my speculation was right. Yay! I hope it's as good as it can be - because, honestly, I think Iain's the best actor the show currently has. Jed and Maurissa shouldn't waste the chance to have that man have the spotlight for an entire episode.

Re-watched the final 7-8 episodes of season 2 and I am so glad that Bobbi and Hunter are no more. I can't stand their characters.

I also never liked Bobbi and Hunter. They're just sort of... generic. Mack felt like he added a new perspective to the cast, while they just took up space. Hunter got better in S3 when they went full comic relief with him, but Mockingbird never really brought anything to the table beyond some cool action scenes.

I think the current lineup (Coulson, Daisy, May, Fitz, Simmons, Mack, and Yo-Yo) is the best the show's ever had. No dead weight.

Add Hunter and Bobbi and replace May with Deke or even Tess and I would be thrilled.

100% agree the cast is perfect and they all have great chemistry with each other.
