The whole thing about watching a show called House of Cards though is that you eventually want to see the house of cards come tumbling down - but how is it even remotely satisfying if the main guy who orchestrated everything is dead? Having his deeds exposed and sending him to jail to rot, in disgrace, would be much better.
This is why the show should have ended years ago, but here we are.

The Good Place's Jianyu is guest starring in this episode of The Good Doctor -because of course he is- and he's playing the exact same character (except this one isn't a DJ, but a pro gamer), so I'm now officially making these two shows exist in the same universe.
Haha shit, now I gotta watch this one episode even though I have no knowledge of The Good Doctor.

Is it the 10th episode of the season?

Technically yes, but they go around saying "we want to make a Riverdale show" basically in concept stage to the major networks.
CW says "we like this, here is the money to go make us a pilot", if CW likes the pilot they put in an order of episodes.

There is 'technically yes' about it, it's a yes. Warners Bros funds the show and the CW (or whatever) pays a licence to air it. When they "go around saying" that they have a show they are selling they either put it on the open market for everyone to look at or take it to a specific network, either way the network, the CW, pays a fee to acquire the project and develop it. From there they order more episodes or don't pick it up.

The studio finances the show, say $5 million an episode, the network licences it, say $2m (all numbers are the hypothetical) for 'X' number of screenings, leaving the studio to sell the show around to the world to whoever to make up the amount they spent making the series.

fansubs.

But like it's very K-drama-y (to no one's surprise), other than that it seemed to be on par with the American version (I've seen about 10-15 minutes of both, neither captivated me so I skimmed through the opening episodes of both). Not worth checking out unless you really like K-dramas.

I honestly don't know where to look for Kdrama, but I assume the same shady sites that people go to for anime before Crunchyroll took over. lol

I'm more curious to see what a depiction of autism is like in a Korean context. I assume all the trappings are Koreaney with the pretty people in love quadrangles.

Not sure if The Good Doctor in particular is on there, but if you ever are looking for Kdrama's, there are some legal viewing options like Dramafever & Viki. Netflix also has quite a few.

Man With a Plan is doing pretty well, likely because of Matt Leblanc. I watch it because I'm a big Friends fan, and it's alright. Last night's episode was one of the better ones.

CBS Evening News feels kind of lifeless, Jeff Glor is kind of...dull???

Perhaps he'll grow into the role over time. Or they'll make it a rotating cast of anchors to find one who works.

Look, end of the day, they don't need an exciting anchor, they just need a competent one who hasn't behaved like a shitbag. The bar is low, here, and yet quixotically very high at the same time.

Casting calls are going out in San Francisco for Wong Kar-Wai's Tong Wars for Amazon. They say they're starting shooting next Summer and running through the end of the year. The first season is slated for 10 episodes.

I;m catching up on Better Call Saul, shaking my head with wonder why I waited so long to watch it. Just finished S2 and Jesus Hell. I don't think I've ever hated (in a good way) fictional character as much as Chuck.

Is the Shutter Island series HBO had planned back in 2014 still being developed?

We also haven't heard anything about Julia Louis-Drefus' mini-seriers Soldier Girls for more than a year.
I haven't heard anything about either of those since they were announced. I'd guess that the former is dead and the latter is shelved for a while. HBO (and everyone else) put a lot of projects into development that never progress too far.

It's really hard to keep up with series that are in development or on the way. I also have stuff like FOX's latino "Romeo and Juliet", Hulu's Bodies (based on a comic book property), Tomorrow Studios' "Snowpiercer", VH1's "Satan Sisters" and WGN's "Scalped" which I haven't heard anything from in a while too. Everything is probably shelved and dead.

Snowpiercer is in production. They've at least shot the pilot, and likely they've done a bit more. I don't know anything about the other ones, but you can typically google shows in production and see if there are casting announcements. That's always a good sign that it's moving forward.

Yeah, I'm currently going through my list of shows, and googling for casting announcements and when the latest news of a show hit the internet. I guess if there haven't been any news for a good year a show's probably dead.

Scalped is dead, or at least dead at WGN America.
Oh, good to know, thanks berzeli!

Tuesday night's ratings. Will & Grace and Superstore did about as well as they usually do on Thursdays. Everything else was pretty steady.

CBS All Access officially order the Twilight Zone reboot:

'The Twilight Zone': Jordan Peele, Simon Kinberg & Marco Ramirez Board Reboot On CBS All Access
When CBS boss Leslie Moonves said during the company's earnings call last month that a reboot of the iconic TV series The Twilight Zone was set for SVOD/live streaming platform CBS All Access, he did not disclose details as deals with creative auspices were still in negotiations.

Those deals have now closed and the new The Twilight Zone is being officially announced. It hails from CBS Television Studios in association with Jordan Peele's Monkeypaw Productions and Simon Kinberg's Genre Films. Jordan Peele, Simon Kinberg and Marco Ramirez (Sons of Anarchy, Daredevil, The Defenders) will serve as executive producers for the series and collaborate on the premiere episode. Win Rosenfeld and Audrey Chon will also serve as executive producers.

"Too many times this year it's felt we were living in a twilight zone, and I can't think of a better moment to reintroduce it to modern audiences," said Peele, coming off the success of his movie Get Out.

Added Kinberg, "The Twilight Zone was a touchstone in my life. The opportunity to continue its lineage is a dream come true, and I'm so thrilled to be doing it with Jordan, Marco and the team at CBS All Access."

The Twilight Zone aired for five years on CBS, from 1959-1964. "The original The Twilight Zone bridged science-fiction, horror and fantasy together to explore human nature and provide social commentary in a way that audiences had never seen before," said Julie McNamara, EVP, Original Content, CBS All Access. "Under the auspices of Jordan Peele, Simon Kinberg and Marco Ramirez, and with the creative freedom that the CBS All Access platform affords, this is an incredible opportunity to bring today's audiences a modern reimagining of this iconic series."

Glad to see The Middle did well last night. That was a really good episode. It's too bad the show is ending this year. It's very underrated.

CBS All Access does some weird things, why is a random old clip locked behind the paywall?

I wanted to rewatch the 2 minute clip of one of the 60 minutes anchors complaining about Christmas.

Tragic that this is exclusive to a subscription service I refuse to pay for. It's RIGHT up my alley, but I have zero interest in giving CBS any money.

Wishing Peele and the crew the best.

Agreed on all counts; I was really looking forward to watching this, but I too refuse to pay for yet another service right now just for one program.

Only thing I actively watch on CBS anymore is Survivor.

Wishing them the best of luck though; hope it does well for all parties involved, and maybe down the road the show will be available elsewhere.

It's been a favorite comedy of mine for the last couple of years, I actually first started watching it through reruns before finally getting caught up to watch the newest season. It was around 2013 when I really started watching it. I'm hoping for a solid and great series finale.
