When you bring it up that way it sounds like we won't even get four campaigns.
There you go. Knowing the amount of production value and main quality standards that modern Capcom puts in RE titles (especially after Resi 5), it would be insane seeing them expanding the two original campaigns while working on two different paths. People don't tend to realize, but games aren't cheap. And we are talking about modern AAA titles.
Although, i'm glad to see the positive reactions here. I agree, it's better to focus on building a cohesive and more robust campaign, selecting the best parts of each scenarion and crafting the "definitive" version of the canon inside RE2. I was very surprised on the beginning of the year while playing the original Resident Evil 2, there's a huge chunk of content/material inside the A and B paths. I adore Claire A + Leon B, going back on the other side directly on the police station, seeing the chpper being shot down and facing Mr. X, it's just incredible. I can't say enough good things about seeing Claire's progress while facing new things and encountering new characters as well.
Thinking about it in retrospect, it blows my mind to know how much care and atention they put into the classic Resi 2. It's a amazing title even for today's standards, simply one of the best.
