Really enjoyed the atmosphere of season 1, hopefully the cast can deliver a better story in season 2 while maintaining production values.

Hyped. First season was great even though the ending was lame. Looking forward to it. Casting looks good

I'm so glad that Joel Kinnamon isn't back for this. He is such a terrible actor that he makes anything that he is apart of worse.

The acting in S1 was spotty at best. This already looks like an improvement.

I hope the do better with the writing on Season 2. It was kind of a tonal mess in the 1st season.

So it's a different story completely or what?

Season 1 took a while to enjoy but I thought it was overall good. The ending kind of went off the rails but it was a lot of fun at that point since it went campy

If they are doing Broken Angels, yes, it's a totally different story. Altered Carbon is a neo-noir detective story, Broken Angels is a military thriller.

Be interesting to see if Mackie is going to do a kinneman impression or just do his own thing.

I also wonder if the sister is going to pop up. I think the s1 stuff is going to carry over a lot.

I enjoyed Season 1 mostly for the worldbuilding. I don't think I've ever seen hard sci-fi put on screen in such an uncompromising fashion. You had to pay attention to keep up. I appreciate that it was far from flawless, but this point alone made the series worthwhile for me. I'm hoping Season 2 confidentally picks up the reins.

I been meaning watch the first season since learning about the book through listening to Gunship. Somehow I completely missed it when it was first released on Netflix.

Here the song with a voice cameo from the writer of the book series

Happy to see Poe is back! S1 had issues but I still really enjoyed it. Excited to see Anthony Mackie as Kovacs.

Man, I love the books and didn't mind the TV show but I REALLY don't like the combining the Quellists with the Envoys. That's one of the weakest parts of the adaptation to me.

Look forward to seeing how they manage some of the insane setpieces at the end of Woken Furies for the show.

why didn't they also recast quellcrist falconer while they are at it, seems kinda weird that she is the only one with the same old sleeve. her original actress was also terrible (but so was mostly everyone else tbh)

Awesome, glad they got someone who can act for the new sleeve. (not a shot at Joel, love the show but if they are replacing him I'm glad its an actor who has some work I've enjoyed)

Hyped for Anthony Mackie and Simone Missick. S1 surprised me in a good way so my hopes are high now.

First season had flaws, especially in it's later half. But goddamn if I ain't just the biggest sucker for dystopian futuristic settings. Cannot wait

Good to see Falcon and Misty in this. Never read the source material so I'm going into this as new as can be. 1 trailer and I'm out.

Is season 2 a continuation of season 1? Or is this a completely a new story?

I liked it, really liked the concept of the world, even though I agree there was a lot of problems. Looking forward to it.

I've been slowly working through the show, mostly using it as filler or background, but one thing that leapt out at me was just how horny the show was. I'll scope out season 2 if I'm still on the Netflix bandwagon at that point.

I think S2 will be an easier watch for me since I don't really hold much reverence for the books past the first AC so I won't care as much about what the show decides to change around now.

Season 1 really made some questionable decisions, mainly by practically combining two characters into one and altering the motivation of another, thereby changing Tak's arc. It's not enough for me to say that the show is "Altered Carbon in name only", but I felt that because so much of the aesthetic and world-building was transferred so closely from page to screen, the plot/character/story changes had that much more of a detrimental effect. Still enjoyed it overall.
