I found something amazing, forgotten.

80s guitar, slammin sax solo, disco strings, groovin slap bass, this song has everything i want

"From a cassette sent to radio stations, this is the pop instrumental version of the HBO Main Theme from 1983. Composed and performed by Ferdinand Jay Smith."

This song absolutely rules. I ordered the vinyl that comes out tomorrow. It's the newest release from numero that features songs like this and the vinyl looks like an old nintendo cartridge with the sleeve

Wow I love this thread! Maybe they've been posted already, but here are some of my favorite songs:

Futurecop - 1988 girls

Lifelike - Getting high (Pyramid mix)

FM84 - Delorean

So I know this isn't exactly a pure "synthwave" artist but

Gesaffelstein released his first album in six years the other weekend and... I kinda feel like he's been listening to a whole lot of Daft Punk, Power Glove and Kavinsky in his downtime. This stuff is a pretty far cry from his hyperaggressive industrial techno. It's synthwave as fuck.

There's even a track with Electric Youth on this thing.

Speaking of songs that aren't synthwave but secretly are, some Carly Rae Jepsen (yes, really) songs are definitely up there. If you listen to the instrumentals in this one for example, it's pure synthwave disguised as pop:

There are a few Pop acts that are really heavy on synths that have been mentioned before. Fickle Friends, Anna of the North, Now Now, ARIZONA, HUMAN, are just a few.

It's not bad at all, but not really my cup of tea. Kind of boring. :) What I listened most to yesterday of the new stuff was the track Enigma from PYLOT's new EP Solai. It's fantastic.

But the best release yesterday was...

Awesome short / video for Freak night.

Anyone got any good horror/slasher style synthwave album? I've listened to a couple of mixes on Youtube and am looking for some artists.

Cheers: Dance with the Dead is coming to Indianapolis!

Jeers: The show is on Mother's Day...and I'm not ditching the mother of my two boys to see this band. :(

Bring them to the show. If the kids are not too young to see live music, there isn't really anything about their sound or visuals that would be inappropriate for children (based on their last tour).

Well damn, thanks for the reminder on that Quixotic album, meant to check it after the original post. Listening now, that opening track rips!

The Quixotle album is pretty good. Hopefully it will find its way to Spotify. Not that hopeful though as his old stuff isn't there.

Other than that, this one dropped yesterday out of the blue (for me). While I have awaited his new album I never tried to keep track of a release date.

Anyone near Louisville? We have 2 tickets for The Midnight tomorrow and unfortunately can't make it. Willing to sell for $20 for both.

Violet Days are supporting The Midnight on tour and were mentioned in a recent interview with NRW. Decided to check them out, great stuff so far.
