Woo! Free 10+1 gave me Cloud, Ashe, Shinju and Pnk-2.

Which combo of Lighting, Ezla, Veritas of Dark, Cloud, Olive should I go with?

What about the other three 4*?

I got Wilhelm #2!

Oh man, another physical tank! I bet he's stronger than my sieghard!

Oh wait, even enhanced he's powercrept by sieghard. Well maybe his 60% atk/mag breaks because Sieghard has 60% def/spr breaks!

But wait, I just got Loren #2 from the KM 5X ticket.....so that discrepancy doesn't matter either...

Aren't new rainbows so exciting? I just can't wait to be disappointed again!

Finally reached the Bahamut fight and he obliterated me. Any tips on how to defeat him? Also getting destroyed on the first turn by the 3* espers.

You can bring a magic tank to take the megaflare. A healer who can reraise or other units with reraise (Rikku etc) are recommended in case your magic tank dies.
And then chain it down. If you have any summoners in your friend list you can cap the chain with an esper for a turn 1 kill. A popular method back in the day when we didn't have enough burst damage from chaining was to have a friend Garnet with Bahamut on to cap it.

Claic has a good video on the strat with no owned 5* bases during the fight, if you wanna check that out.

Espers in general have some tank checks that you need to pass and certain elemental resistances are required so it also depends on your gear.

I recommend reading up the fights on the wiki and let us know if we can share any unit that may help.

Thanks, the video helps a lot. Seems like I need a magic tank.

Have you posted your friend ID? Pretty sure we can just put up a unit that could 1 shot it if you just wanted the esper. Can always do it legit whenever.

Alright, can definitely just 1 shot it pretty easy with Reberta with Red Vengeance. Just post your ID and I can add you if you want.

Add me please, definitely need the help!

Went cold turkey for a couple of years and just got back into the game a couple of weeks ago.

Friend ID: 448-411-781

Btw, is your character strong enough to carry against 3* espers?

Nope. Probably best to worry about those later. Can help out when you start getting a more well rounded roster. I sent you a request. For Bahamut just use red vengeance and tap on her again the next turn since its a timed jump.

I'll need to clean my friend list soon, it's been like 6+ months since I did it last time.
Also sent you a request leehom!

Edit : removed anyone that had 30+ days of inactivity, still keep hippo though <3 (first account nearing 500 days since the first banwave)

I think everyone here have me already but I'll still post my ID : 464.761.570

I just finally removed Zera, feels bad :( I'm hoping to get some 7* bonus units to accept but don't think they'll bite since I don't have a bonus unit hehe It's going to be rough getting currency this time. Virtually no one has a 7* for the 200%. Not surprised though, not exactly coveted units. One is enough for the nice TMR.

So, we'll either get Cid this week or they'll do another RAID unless it's going to be a nothing week. They still have what? three raids to bring back for 7*? VP, JC3, and SoM. Just hurry up and get Cid out of the way so we can have our lock on target Akstar in April.

Downloaded this just over a week ago to casually check it out since I had cleared most stuff in my main mobile game (Opera Omnia). Wasn't sure I'd stick with it but now that I'm grasping it a little more I'm enjoying it. The music is good and the story seems interesting so far. Just made it past Grandshelt castle. I was working on the Ignacio story quest too and was really digging that but it expired before I could finish it. :(

Don't know if any of these units are good or not but I pulled an Aurora Freyvia and Leopold with my first summon so I've been using those two for everything. Also picked up a 5* Nameless Gunner Guy, 5* Livid Shantotto, 5* Emperor, and a 5* Circe with some tickets, along with a bunch of 4* and a ton of 3*. Haven't summoned any of my FF favs yet so will probably try to save for whenever they roll around.

It's weird adjusting to using NRG since Opera Omnia doesn't limit play outside of the world of illusions. I have a lot of refills for it from the daily ads but don't want to spend them on refilling like 50 NRG so I've been trying to time it with my rank ups instead. Haven't quite grasped the purpose of all the different cataurs and magic pots and moogles etc. but they seem like they're all used for leveling up so I'm holding off on using them until I reach a wall I can't get past at current level. Anyway, this game is fun so far. Feels weird being so far behind since I've played OO since launch but I think I'll stick with it.

Ha, just saw they updated the game with what's coming, Cid story event it is! Akstar on track for next month! Don't care about Cid but the two 4* unit TMRs are pretty nice. Free daily summons finally coming back for a stretch too along with an all lapis reward wheel which you can potentially land on 200 lapis.

Well first, welcome! I played Omnia at launch but it ultimately didn't hold my interest. I've played this one since virtually the launch and have stuck with it, hopefully you'll enjoy this as a compliment to Omnia, there's enough differences for them to feel like two fresh experiences. The story is one of the highlights for me and if you like it already, you'll really enjoy it later as more cast members join. The second season has a lot more drama going on and had some rather interesting cliff hangers that you won't have to wait a month to see what happens like we did hehe

Aurora Frye is good and Livid will be a solid mage for you. Honestly virtually any 5* base unit will easily handle the story and a number of other content. You really just need a strong team for the later trials and 3* esper fights (Bahamut 1* and Leviathan 2* are special exceptions). Some of those 4* can be valuable units for you for now. Do you have WoL? He'll be a very solid physical tank until you get a 5* base one. Hopefully you have a healer but you'll be able to make do with Fina for the earlier portion of the story once she joins the team. It's not a bad idea to save for units whether it be a favorite or for particularly good ones. We're expecting a meta shifting monster of a damage dealer called Akstar to come out next month so you could save for him (it's an FFBE original character from Season 2).

It was the other way around for me, it was a surprise yet refreshing when I started up Omnia and saw you didn't need energy for the story. Every gacha should incorporate that. One thing I liked about that game. Cactuars are for leveling your units, the pots are for boosting stats depending on what type of pot they are. As you increase a unit's star rank, you'll be able to further increase their stats with pots as well even if maxed at the previous star level so no need to save them for when you reach a higher star rank. I'd save them for the worthwhile party members though. Each unit has a trust mastery reward (TMR) which you'll see on the unit's "Stats" screen at the bottom. These consist of most of the best equipment and materia in the game (mostly on 5* units but there are quite a few good ones on 4* units too). You have a chance to increase that unit's TMR progress by .1 percent for most things you do in the game. Trust moogles boost your TMR progress instantly. There are 1%, 5% and 10% trust moogles. We've twice? received a 50% moogle for something special and you'll get a 100% trust moogle when you complete the whole first season of the story. You can use cactuars, moogles, and pots by fusing them to a unit via "enhancing" them. You also get 5% TMR experience by fusing a duplicate unit with itself OR the amount of TMR progress the dupe already has if greater than 5%. Also regarding dupes, you need a dupe of a 5* unit to get them to the highest star rank, 7* and only 5* base units can get to 7* at all. You don't need to worry about reaching 7* anytime remotely soon so don't sweat not getting dupes for now unless there's a step up banner for a unit you really want.

Thanks!! Appreciate all the info. I've been referencing the BE wiki trying to get a grasp on all the enhancement materials and when and what I should use etc. but have mostly come out more confused than before so this helps.

Aurora Fryevia seems to be my best unit at the moment. She's level ~25 but I haven't put any materials into her yet. It's all just been experience from battles. I was thinking of giving her my pots and moogles once I awakened her to 6* but it sounds like it doesn't matter if I do it now while she's at 5* right? It'll all even out in the end, kind of thing? I went through all my units and I don't have a WoL and not sure if I have a tank but I do have a Rosa so I'm thinking I can use her for healing at least (and I'm actually just assuming that's her role since she's a WM in IV but my lazy butt didn't actually look into her abilities yet lol). I also just pulled an Onion Knight Refia off a rare summon ticket so might work on her as well once I look into her kit.

That's too bad about needing a dupe to get to 7* though. Is there any other way to awaken a character that far? Like in OO you can use power stones to level up a weapon or buy dupes from the weapon exchange. Had thought of trying to awaken AuroraF to 7* but I only got one copy of her so she's probs stuck at 6*.

I did get two copies of Doga though earlier and I fused the second copy into the first. I didn't really know what I was doing lol. I know he can't be awakened to 7*, but if he could, for example, would that fusion copy count towards the awakening? I'm just wondering if I should be saving all my dupes for awakenings down the road or if it's cool to fuse now. Helps to keep inventory down so I've been doing it willy nilly lol.

Correct, you can pot her and use moogles on her right away. You'll hit a cap earlier at lower star ranks but the cap will increase when you bring them up to the next level so you'll be able to continue to use more on them and won't have wasted anything. You should look at a tmr before using any trust moogles though. Hers is solid but there are better out there so I'd just fuse the moogles together for now and wait to see who you have by the time it gets to 100%. You can also fuse cactuars together and pots of the same type together as well. Here's a review of her by a guy on Reddit that's well respected by the community for his analysis and input on units in this game: https://www.reddit.com/r/FFBraveExv..._overview_aurora_fryevia_final_fantasy_brave/

When you get a chance, list your 5* and 4* units and we can provide recommendations. I'm going to bed here shortly so I might not see it unit tomorrow, however.

Yeah it kind of sucks and is the only way to get a unit to 7* but there's something called "Select Ticket" that we call unit of choice (UoC) tickets and when you get 10 of them, you can choose any 5* unit in the game you want except the limited time ones. This is meant to help get your unit to 7* as you can pull one and then use the UoC for the other or even to get both if you save enough of them. We usually get around two of those a month. You get one from completing the first stage of story events (you should have gotten one from the Ignacio event) and you'll be able to get one from the new Cid event coming this Friday. You can also buy them from the Mog King via the currency earned from a mog king event. The FFIII event going right now is a mog king event. It's a pretty expensive item but once your team is strong enough to handle the legendary difficulty, it'll be easy enough especially if you bring units from the banner that offer bonus currency. Speaking of which, your new Refia will provide bonus currency for you so congrats!

Correct, Doga can't become 7* so you didn't waste the dupe. You'll have increased the first Doga's TMR progress by 5%. If he was a 5* base unit, you'd have messed up bad. When you get a dupe 5* unit, you go to the awakening unit screen and there's a button in the top right saying something along the lines of prism or converting which once swapped over to, you can convert a 5* base unit into that unit's prism. You then can fuse the prism into the other one but you first have to get them to max 6* level before you can fuse a prism into them. Note that if you haven't learned a tmr for the unit turned into a prism, it'll create a moogle tmr prism for that TMR which will allow you to use trust moogles on it to learn the TMR but you can't bring it in battle or send it on expeditions. So if you don't want to waste a moogle on it, might want to wait until you farm the TMR first. That said, if you don't plan on using an emulator with scripts to TMR farm, you might as well use trust moogles on them.

It's good to check what the TMR is before fusing because if it's good enough and you can equip more than one to a unit or maybe have a couple units that would benefit from it, you're better off keeping a coupe of that unit so you can get multiple of that TMR ultimately. Also, check out "Expeditions" as there's a recently added moogle expedition where you can send out a team of units you want to learn the TMR of. It's 100% success no matter what and you can run it three times a day before the daily reset. Just note that if you send a unit on an expedition, you can't use them for anything else until they are done and the moogle one doesn't let you use items to speed it up like the other expeditions do. So I don't recommend putting your main units in there except when going to bed or if you don't plan on playing for a few hours (moogle expeditions take 3 hrs).

If 5* base, save dupe until you get one of them to max 6* level. If 4* unit or lower, check and see if you'd want multiple copies of that TMR and if not, go ahead and fuse them.

Cid got a new step up I see, 12k lapis with 2 laps max and guaranted 5* on the last step, I'd say it's a better value than the previous 11k ones (first 2 ones I did I got 0 rainbows)

Thanks again, for the info and the link analysis, this is all really good to know. I don't think the game tells you, unless I missed it, that you need that dupe for 7* awakening so I'm really, really glad to know that. I haven't been lucky enough to pull a dupe of any of my 5* yet but I'd be super bummed if I had and had wasted it lol.

For 5*, repeating a few I mentioned earlier but I'm making a spreadsheet, I have:
Aurora Fryevia
Circe
Onion Knight Refia
Livid Shantotto
Nameless Gunner Jake
Emperor
Aloha Lasswell
Katy Perry (lol)

My 4*: Chizuru, Garnet, Hope, Rosa, Luka, Soleil, King, Setzer, Ilais, Rikku, Ashe (I also have the free 5* Ashe), Rasler, Helena, Werei, Meliadoul, Veritas of the Earth, Aria, Aura, Silvia, Chloe, Kaede, Ohga, Verun, Drace, Yang, Killian, Lexa, Ryumynui, Pecciotta, Shinju, Macmedi, Leopold, Deuce, Sazume, Xon, Artisan Lid, Swordsman Lasswell, Cagnazzo, Cheerleader Fina, Rubicante, Doga

When I first started, I couldn't tell the difference between the blue shading on the 3* and 5* bases, so I thought 4* was the highest lol. Then I noticed the star count and started using the 5* units. I honestly haven't even looked at my 4* units since so I'm not sure if there's good stuff in my unit pool. Setzer and Leopold were the two I was using in the beginning. Setzer's trust meter is over 10% because I had two units I fused into him but I can't tell if his TMR is any good.

I've been spending lapis and tickets to get some decent units but I've been doing well with what I have so far so I've switched over to saving stuff now. I have about 10k lapis and I'm working on picking up the tickets from the FFIII dungeon event. Is this Cid guy coming up any good? Would he be worth pulling for or might it be better to save for this Akstar person? I see the thread has some hype for him lol.

I recommend using https://ffbeequip.com/, it's a very useful tool to keep track of your units and items and you can also use it to simulate builds. Much easier than keeping a spreadsheet.

Cid step up is so much better than before, if only Folka had one.

Calliope
Definitely level up and enhance Xon and put him in your story party for every missions, he can AoE steal and give you more gil and better item drops. Ashe and Rikku are both great units for new players, Rikku has and amazing limit burst. Rosa should be your healer.

Just take your time and enjoy the story, there are a lot of content. You don't need to do the side quests since they are mostly fetch quests, but do the vault keys quest, the rewards are really nice. You can totally ignore all the trials and just focus on your team building, you will eventually get some great units. I wouldn't recommend Cid, he can do insane damage, but dragoons are not new players friendly. Save your lapis for guaranteed banners like the future Akstar one (if it's the same as Japan), or you can even skip Akstar and try to get a Xenogears character if you like the game or just pull for the units you like. You don't need the best of the best to clear end game content.

Cid got a new step up I see, 12k lapis with 2 laps max and guaranted 5* on the last step, I'd say it's a better value than the previous 11k ones (first 2 ones I did I got 0 rainbows)

It'll be interesting to see if they do that with Axter's banner whenever the hell they decide to give it to us. If they ever do. :/

Thank you, that site is exactly what I was thinking of with my spreadsheet and so much more

Great advice, thanks!! I didn't even know where to start with my 4*s so this gives some focus. I think I'll skip Cid then and save for this Akstar guy. And yeah, the story is really fun and enjoyable so far, I'm surprised at some of the writing and humor, it definitely has it's charms.

lol, I went ALL in. I spent literally everything I earned from the first ~week, plus there were a few free 10+1s that I lucked out on. I wasn't sure I was going to stick with it so figured why not. Now that I am, I'm conserving funds. I'm not a hoarder by nature but I think this game will be different because the loot pool seems huge and there are so many original characters and I'm mostly interested in my fav FF peeps. I did see that you got Cloud though so I'm jelly; he's my forever boi.

Calliope Feel free to drop your friend ID (unless I missed it) so people can add you. Get some OP friends to help out with clearing events.

Good idea! My ID is 460,660,202. I don't have much to offer back but I did make my Onion Knight Refia leader in case anyone wants to carry her through the Cave of Shadows dungeon for bonus Fangs.
Added.

@Xevren thank you very much again!!. Finally beat up that booly Bahamut. Took over an hour due to farming more rat tails and finding your hero. Had to go through 8 out of the 9 maps to finally get a tail to drop. Then had to restart the app a million times before your hero would appear in friends.

Realm of the Dragon King gives me extreme anxiety and stresses me out sooo much. Even with two charm bangles on, was still running into enemies at a high rate and was scared of being completely wiped out from a random battle again.

Yea that area is pretty brutal with the encounter rate, charm bangles don't even feel like they help much there. Grats on the esper!

Used those free 10+1's, around 20 ex tickets and got Myra (so good she saved my pitiful cast of heroes) and Veritas of the Dark from them.

Was stoked to get Cloud and he's a hair better than my other 5*, but disappointed he isn't better. I think the Cloud to go for is the Cloud (KH) edition which is ranked much higher.

Going to dump everything saved up for Akstar and pray to the Gumi gods some luck comes my way.

incidentally, who's the unit who did that for hyoh? it certainly wasn't aloha lasswell. dracu lasswell outdamaged hyoh but was on a limited triple rainbow banner with no step-up. not exactly the same situation as orlandeau/fryevia.

I definitely agree with you on this. Aloha Lasswell was supposed to be the GLEX TDW alternative to Hyoh that no one was expecting.

But then, Gumi was Gumi, got greedy, and shot themselves in more than just their feet with that. That's their own fault for that. Gumi should have learned a lesson from that, but who knows id they actually did or not. Community won't take it well this time, that's for sure.

In the "pics or it didn't happen" category...

Claimed and used the Fan Festa 10+1 and got a double rainbow. That is exemplary on its own, but...

9EFPY0o.jpg

The first rainbow was a DK Luneth, an on-banner unit pulled straight out of the horrible EX rates.
The second rainbow was a statistical anomaly for me. Yes, that actually says "NEW" next to Marie.

After 986 days, Marie FINALLY loves me. She was hands down, the oldest rainbow that still evaded me. Crazy.

Grats on your pulls! And your first Rainbow Robe!

I still don't have even one Delita, he's the oldest of the units I don't own. Can't believe I dodged him for so long.

Calliope I'll add you as well once maintenance is over!

Also 3 Anzelm is pretty hilarious. I'm still missing Dark Fina and Dark Knight Cecil, not that I want either of them.

I'm still Marie-less, but I'm sure I'll get those oldass rainbows on my pulling streak for Golbez, since that's where I'll use all my 5* EXs and 5+1/10+1

Welp, back to one wave per battle on the SQ map. Couldn't have left us with a decent drop rate I guess.

I'm gonna just hoard them until they implement it back.

I stopped looking at bundles when Gumi stopped making lapis ones, since several months they're all cash bundles.

Thanks all for the adds!! If there's anything I can do to help at this level, let me know.

I used a few of your friend units to clear the ELT level of the Cave of Shadows a couple times. And honestly it was really badass watching your maxed units one shot everything lol. I appreciate it. The furthest I've been able to get with my team is PRO and that's even with a 6* friend unit so that was all pretty cool.

Nice!
The DK Luneth I share can solo LGD too. Just do Hit All for the first wave and any bonus units, Double Dark Blade - Kyuumei Youtou + Ma no meigeki for the rest and double Ma no meigeki for the final boss.

Ok, this was pretty cool lol; thanks for sharing this strategy. This is way further than I'd be able to get otherwise. It's neat to see how things play at a higher level too.

I made one lap, I might do another later if I get 12k Lapis.
Got 3 rainbows in step 5, everyone of them were new :(.
Cid which is cool, Balthier (got my free Balthier now sadly), Machina (don't need).
