Android user of 5 years here. Not getting an iPhone X, but I'm getting either a free iPhone 7 or 7 plus through work probably this coming week.
Why the switch? Incoming rant... I've had 5 Android phones in 5 years, all of which had incredible features up front, but all 5 of them had a major issue that required a replacement. Most recently, my Nexus 6P got caught in a widespread issue with the battery. There's been tons of reports on the internet that after a year or more of owning the phone, the battery would start to die early during usage - for example my phone plummets to 0% and dies at over 20% battery, some people reporting it's as bad as at 50%. Needless to say this is a major issue, so much so that there's an ongoing class action lawsuit. Some people got free replacements out of warranty, so I called Google, but they are only replacing phones if they are bought through Google directly. I bought mine through Best Buy, so they require I go through Huawei (the manufacturer) who isn't replacing any phones for free, period.
That's some bullshittery if you ask me. Any time I've had an Apple product where there's a widespread manufacturing defect, I'd get the problem fixed at an Apple store, no charge, no questions asked. As for the Nexus, I'd replace the battery myself but apparently it's almost impossible to replace it yourself due to the way the phone is constructed. Just not something I should have to deal with or want to anymore. I'm done with Android. I know people have their technical problems with iPhones, but 5 phones in a row with a major dealbreaker is nonsense. At this point I'd rather invest in a product that I feel like has better reliability and better customer service.
Thought I'd just share my story
