I didn't even know there was a PAX in Australia. Is it open to the public? Never been to a gaming convention. Might go as it's in Melbourne.
I went to PAX in melbourne a couple of years ago. It was ridiculously large compared to supanova, at least based on my experience.

Honestly if you can stomach the crowds it might be worth it for computer parts alone, I remember when I had gone they were selling graphics cards for way cheaper than places like umart (I think the biggest difference I saw was like a full 400$ cheaper at the time or something along those lines.

On a separate note, if I'm ever going to get games day one, I might start buying from Amazon.com.au exclusively, days gone currently going for $52 as a pre-order which kind of blows my mind.

I had a $5 month deal in Jan and then a normal $25 month in Feb. I'm about a week away from my next $25 payment for March, so I may well cancel that account and sign up with another email.

Australia
I'll ask here since there are so many IT types in these parts. I have an interview this week and they're sending me a Skype for Business link. What do I need for that? I just have standard free Skype and don't have an office 365 sub or anything. Do I need to download something for my computer?

I have 100mbit FTTP so it would be interesting to see how it would go.

Also Gigabit going in at work soon, so that would probably be sufficient :P

You can stream with Steam's solution on cellular networks now - I tried it this morning with Assassin's Creed Odyssey on a Google Pixel using the Steam Link app over a 4G network. The biggest challenge was the onscreen controller, not latency.

In time any streaming latency will hopefully be sorted out. Microsoft are working on some interesting approaches.

Pre-ordered Sekiro off Amazon au, first time getting something from them pre release. What time does their carrier information usually update cause it says it's supposed to ship today but I haven't heard anything yet.

Says they've got servers in 7,500 'data centre nodes'. Presumably there'll be at least a dozen around Australia if and when the service launches locally.

I hope they push the Stadia server deployments to all those, that would be ideal but highly unlikely. Best we can hope for is they at least push to VIC & NSW. I'd love to be wrong. However I feel they'll just compute the workload at the central DCs, which means only Sydney is doing the leg work and the nodes are just faster pipes for your traffic to and fro.

Probably a bit late, but just follow the link. My understanding it is will download a temporary client and should join the session itself.

I tried using the Kayo Sports code, but it's a code for Telstra customers only.

It checks your email against your Telstra ID so it just failed at checkout for me.

I'm still playing through the World of Light in Smash. It's my first Smash game. Some of these challenges are nigh-on impossible or rely on a combination of sheer luck and the right spirits to get through. There was one I only beat recently for the spirit Jeff, where you fought five male inklings wearing glasses and long-sleeve inkling print shirts on a Mother stage.

Those dapper motherfuckers juggle you between them and launch missiles at you at the same time as you try to dodge oncoming traffic. It's an insane mess and it took me a good two hours to finally smash my way through them.

i forget what the rating system is in WoL but the hardest difficulty ones are mostly just guarding fighters or are challenges for their own sake, you can largely skip around them and come back to them later. Unfortunately this is kind of a drag because there's no map or whatever to indicate what you've left behind, but at least you don't have to do patently unfair matches without some equally patently unfair bullshit of your own

But my OCD won't let me walk away when there's bullshit deaths to be avenged.

Also, I like the feel of Captain Falcon. He's very kinetic, which is satisfying, though I have trouble comboing opponents because of his long animations. Any others like him?

ganon used to be an even slower falcon clone, but his moveset has moved away at this point.

Anyone here (particularly Melbourne/Geelong) interested in the Analogue Mega Sg? Having serious FOMO now and shipping is almost reasonable if splitting the shipping between two.

EDIT: No gun found.

Is there a PS4 Kayo app? And do they have any of the cricket World Cup?

Even on easy those legend fights are hard. It's best to come back later when you have more power/abilities. I was banging my head against M Bison for ages but came back to him last night after hours going other stuff and nailed him in two tries.

It's only now that it's been pointed out to me that the different fights have ratings on them just like the underlying spirits. This will change how I approach the maps now.

M. Bison didn't give me much trouble, by the way, but The Boss and Gunslinger gave me nightmares.
