Question friends:

Best way to farm Go Figure?

Also how do you farm armory weapons if you do not like the roll you got? Like I need the steps laid out, The Armory confuses, me and I have wasted time doing things.

The complaining over Luna and NF has gotten ridiculous. Not here, necessarily, just in general.

I only really play to the meta once I pass Fabled.

I go the Recluse running Blast Furnace (FF, KC), Mindbender's ambition, and Thunderlord.

If I decide to push for Legend in pursuit of Unbroken, yeah, Ill pull out the Not Forgotten for Mythic and Legend, but what percentage of the population is even playing comp at that level?

Outside of top tier comp, the idea you need NF or Luna to be competitive is silly imo.

Don't know about Go Figure being farmable from a specific place. My understanding is that it's in the general loot table so it can drop from anywhere; can someone correct me if that's incorrect? I have picked it up reliably from Banshee by turning in gunsmith materials, but given that it looks like Bungie is going to ditch Scrapper Bounties in the future and switch to bounties from Banshee, I'd hold onto mine.

For BA weapons, you can choose 2 out of the 3 powerful frames being offered each week. Once you forge it, you can keep going back to Ada and picking up Beta frames for those same weapons. Each time you forge it you'll get a randomized roll.

Most weapons cannot be farmed directly.

Black Armory weapons can be through their associated frames. Dustrock Blues can be through specific boss kills in Lost Sectors on Mars and Earth. Otherwise, that's really about it as far as farming something specific goes outside of spamming vendors for vendor-specific items through engrams from collected materials.

You can get any other non-vendor weapon drop from anywhere in the game world, more or less (Dreaming City weapons only come from Dreaming City and raid weapons only come from the raids).

agreed. Even at that level, there are still plenty perfectly viable of options to use.

If you want a good Go Figure roll, the best way to get it is to wait until Ada is selling Blast Furnace frames. BF is basically the same gun, so that's the most reliable way to farm for a decent aggressive burst pulse.

When she's selling Blast Furnace, you need a ballistics log to get one powerful BF. You can get it from doing one of the BA weekly bounties. After that, you spend 6 modulus reports to get another non-powerful frame of a type you've already had a powerful reward for that week.

To try to make that second bit clearer: She'll be selling 3 frames. You can pick one with a ballistics log. After that, you can only farm that one frame with modulus reports, unless you get a second ballistics log in which case you can choose another frame, and then farm both those two frames for that week.

Meaning they're spammed and it's zipping back & forth across the screen at light speed, so it's all but impossible to get the required number of hits in. Add in the fact that it gets wall hacks on top of that so it's never charging around a corner into fire, and you've got a one-way ticket to ridiculous town.

Spider bounties can drop it, but it doesn't have an associated Lost Sector like the red guns from the Tangled Shore. You can get the energy version, Right Side of Wrong, from a few different ones (e.g. Ma'adim Subterrane on Mars).

I went and tested in a private match and the slashes definitely take super energy.

worst things about spectral:

It lasts way too f-ing long.

It has some sort of super speed boost lung or something so that unlike arc blade, you cannot just outrun it.

You cant see or hear it! (yes I know you can but you know what I mean)

They said they were buffing shadowshot long term, I'm actually excited to see if that could become viable.

Earlier in thread someone mentioned farming Hammerhead with the initial quest on an alt. How is that done? I just did the first part on my Titan and got the Hammerhead... but I'm not seeing how to do it again.

TLW quest was really fun. I think a lot of people get turned off these exotic quests because of the Crucible portions, but I sometimes get the impression they're Bungie's own special way of trying to teach people how to play Crucible while providing a carrot on a stick as an incentive.

Had a pretty good Destiny evening. Took out 3 sentinel supers in the same crucible match (Erentil's still got it). Sniped 5 invaders in the same Gambit match - I know sniper rifles aren't meta unless you're an invader but dammit, they're so much fun. For my daily Getaway Artist dropped for me, and I hit legendary. Ran a crucible match on my hunter to finish the daily+weekly, & Ahamkara Grasps dropped.

You're right, I don't play a ton of hunter in crucible and the amount it uses is low enough I didn't notice.

You can try, but more often than not, you'll get bodied in one shot, whilst the Izanagi, you have to scavenge for precious special ammo and use them all at once for a one shot

I can handle Jotuuns. Can't deal with a body shot sniper that takes zero skill to kill with.

I mean, by default a sniper rifle requires skill. It doesn't aim itself. lol. Though IB is definitely easier to convert with unless you fluff your shots, in which case you would have been better off with a regular SR and 3 or 4 attempts at a headshot or 2x body shots.

Speaking of Jotunn, my most hilarious and fun Crucible game last night was a game of Rumble with Smuggler's Word and Jotunn. I've slept on Sidearms all this time because I didn't think I could be successful with them but I ended up getting a Smuggler's Word this past week with Opening Shot and Full Auto. I guess that was the ticket for me because I had several games in a row where I was just shredding with it - all hip fire, no ADS. Really makes me want to get an Anonymous Autumn from Shaxx but he has yet to bless me with one.

Jotunn is powerful but I dodge it and other people dodge mine pretty frequently. I use it because it's fun as all heck to shoot fireballs at people.

Unfortunately, the worst players are the loudest. They will complain about anything that kills them until we're left with fusion grenades and sidearms.

People fail to realize that when one thing is nerfed another takes its place. Bungie really fucked up with the Nova Warp nerf because now Spectrals are the king of the crucible. If they are smart, they will SLIGHTLY adjust Spectral and buff NW. There need to be multiple options. That said, the crucible is in a great place right now; I can easily get 30+ kills with all kinds of loadouts.

The thing with Izanagi is that it's not actually that great as a regular sniper. Things like Alone as a God, Borealis, Twilight Oath etc. seem to have better aim assist, hit boxes, zoom etc. I rarely see it in crucible.

It's a pretty regular occurrence to see someone jumping around corners blind firing Jotunn all match getting 25 kills even if they miss a third of the time.

Smugglers Word is a cheeky little bastard in crucible. I've got one with Outlaw, Zen Moment and a range masterwork. I don't use it so much now that i've got Service Revolver and TLW, but it holds a special place in my heart.

~~Bladedancer~~ Spectral blades is really good, but it's the same thing with anything that's strong imo - If you can't beat them, join them. Hunters overall are actually in a pretty sweet spot, GG is still good and Arcstaff still works fine.

Yeah stuff like Warlock rifts and Hunter tethers make me a little jelly at times in the pinnacle activities but for everyday stuff Titans are more than fine. I basically soloed the first round of a Gofannon forge ignition earlier until the game finally found two other players after I'd already gotten 14/20 batteries and still had a minute on the clock with no deaths. Several of the Titan sub-classes have amazing survivability (I was using bottom tree Sunbreaker for Sunspots and heal on ability kill) so using the proper tools means you can do some cool things sometimes.

Ran the Thorn strike last night with 2 Hunters and actually used the bubble a time or two to get us through a tight spot. I must have been last guardian standing a dozen times and we ended up winning which also felt pretty good. So yeah, I got nothing but love for my little Titan.

I knew I was in trouble for my first Comp game of the week when it loaded me into a map of 4 vs 2 and I was on the 2. And we never got another player for the rest of the match. We still almost won but it felt like the fox and the hare for the entire match. Sort of set the tone for the rest of my games this weekend. Statistically I am slightly better than average at Destiny PVP (1.28 K/D in Comp according to Destinytracker.com ) but nowhere near good enough to carry a game if my team mates are potatoes. And this weekend was a whole lot of potatoes!

For sure. Actually the 4 vs 2 was really fun only because we were fairly evenly matched. Pulling a "W" out of that would have been pretty epic but once they saw they weren't going to roll over us they just ran as a pack.
