  • Your gender? Your sexual identity? (Preferred pronouns?)
    • Fluid, although usually male, nonbinary, or femme identifying. It's complicated and something I'm still trying to work out about myself. I use he pronouns, though.
  • Your sexual orientation?
    • Gay
  • Where Are You From?
    • the Deep South of the United States

  • Favorite Type of Music?
    • Funk, rock, hip-hop, funk, soul, R&B, pop.
  • Profession or Career interest?
    • Still working on this one. There's a lot of things I could put here.
  • Favorite video game(s)?
    • I think Nier on the PS3 and Xbox 360 is heads and shoulders above everything else I've ever played. Few works in the medium reach the level of brilliant writing, character depth, and emotional engagement that you will find in great films or novels. But this one absolutely does. There's nothing else like it. It elevates games as an art form. Everyone should play it. I can't rave enough about how good it is.
  • What are your hobbies (other than gaming)?
    • Playing music, writing poetry, photography, I dabble in painting, visual design, watching great films and television (I think the new Twin Peaks is the best thing I've ever seen on TV), reading, studying international politics.

  • I discovered within the last two years that I really love Prince (especially his rap stuff)

Ayyy. I'm kinda an obsessive Prince fanatic. If you need some recommendations on his lesser-known or unreleased stuff to check out, I'd love to be of assistance. I can't profess the same love for his experiments with rap, even though it's a genre I usually love, but I'm absolutely passionate about his art. I think many of his best songs, and pretty much all of the songs I cite when people ask my favorites, are unreleased and available only on bootlegs.

btw, I'm updating that massive list of queer visual media of mine. Will be posting it soon-ish, if anyone knows of anything that either wasn't on it the last time or of less known films released since 2015 (i.e. not Carol, Moonlight, etc.) send me a PM.

WOAH, your list is amazing. Thank you very much.

Hey guys! Nice to meet all of you!

  • Your gender? Cis man
  • Your sexual orientation? Gay
  • Where are you from? Chile
  • Where do you live? Chile
  • How old are you? 24
  • Favorite type of music? I love 90's pop music; indie pop and jazz.
  • Profession or career interest? Sociologist, I've worked mostly in public health.
  • Favorite video game(s)? Favorite game of all time would be Mother 3, but I adore the entire Earthbound series. Animal Crossing series would be a close second (Wild World is probably my favorite one, I have great memories with that one). Vampire the Masquerade: Bloodlines is also in my top 5 games; I'm a huge horror fan and this scared the shit out of me when I first played it. I guess Persona 5 is also one of my - very recent - favorite games.
  • What are your hobbies (other than gaming)? I enjoy writing (occasionally) and I also enjoy reading a lot. I've recently started doing some photography but I'm a big noob. I love doing movie marathons (specially, horror films), watching a play, hanging out with my friends, trying different foods! Oh, and I do a lot of activisim (mostly LGBT or feminist centered).

Yay Shining Force. I was playing Shining Force 2 when my mum, with my permission, told my dad that I'm bi. I don't normally like SRPGs because I don't like the long battles but Shining Force is an exception (along with Mario + Rabbids and Front Mission 3...I want to get into FFT but never stick with it).

Funny you should mention that; I was lost after Shining Force I and II until I found FFT (and later Fire Emblem, Disgaea, etc.) SRPGs are a really sparse genre unfortunately!

I like the satirical stories in Disgaea games I've played but haven't found enough time for them. Maybe I'll give D5 a try, coming off of Mario + Rabbids.

I dunno what it is about it but it's so charming to me. It's got such an interesting feel and the island has so many interesting characters. Actually I think I remember hearing it was inspired some by Twin Peaks which I can definitely see a bit.

Hiya! This is my first post here. I am 29 years old and have been dealing with a bit of minor depression lately.

  • Your gender? Your sexual identity? Male
  • Your sexual orientation? Gay
  • Where Are You From? India
  • Where Do You Live? Oman

  • Profession or Career interest? Construction Planning

I started watching the Australian TV Show "Please like me". For those that have not watched it here is a brief synopsis.
The show is about a guy name Josh in late 20's who falls in love with another guy Arnold who suffers from Anxiety attacks. Also the protagonists mother had attempted suicide in the pilot and Josh moves in with her. In the final season the couple break up over a threesome and Josh's mother commits suicide.Josh's friend tries to call Arnold to tell about suicide but Arnold is shown having sex with the threesome guy. The show is finished.

The last 2 episodes have kinda brought my moral down. I have been really bummed about it. I know its a TV show but I was quite invested in the characters and they way they ended it felt quite cruel. I watched is 2 days ago and am still thinking about it. Maybe me being depressed has got to do something with it. I just wanted to gather all my thoughts and felt I could do here. Thanks.

I'm Indo-Canadian, both of my parents immigrated from India! Nice to meet another gay Indian here :)

Is it true that Mario can wear a wedding dress costume in Odyssey? I saw pictures of it on twitter but was unsure if they were legit

Came out as bisexual to my parents a few days ago, so I'm still feeling pretty excited from how well that went. I'd been really nervous cause my mom has had some questionable views on sexuality in the past, but she was actually really great about the whole thing. I am super glad to be here and excited to get to know you all.

Thanks so much! <3 It's like an entire weight has been lifted. I don't think I've ever felt so happy in my life!
I almost don't even remember what it was like to be in the closet anymore. I was so sure everyone would hate me and disavow me, so I swore I would never tell anybody. That shit sucks. I wish nobody was assumed straight, so coming out wasn't a thing.

(the happy ending is almost nobody changed around me after I eventually came out)

That was an amazing recommendation list. I have seen many of them already. But this list will keep me busy. Thanks.

There is one movie that can be added to the list. Its called "How to win at checkers every single time". Its a very touching movie about two brothers.

I will go through my watch list to see if I can add more to the list.

Oh believe me, you are in for a treat! I just finished it again for the first time in years two weeks ago and the magic was the same (even though I knew exactly what to do and kinda went through the motions). It's the first game I remember finishing in my life. I must have been about 7 years old or something like that.

Can you give me your thoughts about the ending once you reach it? I'd like to hear it.

Asia's biggest gay pride parade brings tens of thousands to Taipei

taipride213j3i.jpg

A sea of rainbow flags and glitzy costumes filled downtown Taipei as tens of thousands marched in Asia's largest gay pride parade, the first since Taiwan's top court ruled in favour of gay marriage.

The island looks set to become the first place in Asia to legalise gay marriage after the constitutional court said in May that laws preventing same-sex unions violated the guarantee of freedom of marriage. It gave the government two years to implement the decision.
But behind the celebrations, some are frustrated at the lack of progress in changing the marriage laws since the court ruling.

"A lot of people cannot afford to wait two years," said Joseph Wu, 46, dressed in a matching kilt and rainbow turban with his partner of six years. "We just want the same things heterosexual couples have. We also do our military service, we pay the same taxes, so why can't we have the same thing?"

Hino Chen, 29, said: "We are the same. We also want to start our own families."

I'm so fucking annoyed lmao I went to a straight halloween party last night and it was cute but immediately after my friends wanted to go to a gay bar to get the heterosexual stink off of us. I was wearing this carebear onesie and apparently I didn't get the memo but that was THE official gay boy costume of the night. Every third gay was wearing this costume I was so annoyed at my lack of originality!

Also, BFI is releasing a box set of Jarman films next year which is pretty damn neat.

To be fair, it's a comprehensive list. But you can never get everything.

Jarman collection will be ace. I hope it includes the music videos he did for The Smiths and PSB as well.

I don't necessarily think there are specific examples but moreso the general vibe and setting of the game with it being like, a small town with interesting and quirky characters.

You can read a lil bit about it here.

Also I just wanna say I absolutely love that this forum has notifications for quotes and replies now so that I can actually carry on a conversation. Bless.

This weekend has been so busy that I can't even. Yesterday was a fun halloween party, that ended up in a karaoke bar. I don't usually do karaoke (can't sing well), but I guess the booze got me encouraged enough.
