Not really sure why people in general make such a big deal out of notches.

It's either a notch, or a full on bezel of that same size, same difference outside of the notch-devices having some extra screen space to put whatever.
Yep exactly. No other phone has the iPhone X's bezel free design all around. They just don't. Apple could have added a forehead but instead took sections of that forehead and made it a screen. Frankly, their approach seems more Android than Apple. It's a good approach, though less elegant.

If apple really cared about delivering a proper iPhone befit of the X moniker they would have waited until they could get behind the screen sensors.

This right here is the truth. Steve would have said make it work without the fucking notch or don't release it.

The notch is trash and doesn't actually give you more screen to work with. And the X has a lower screen to body ratio than some other phones despite its design.

Facts.

I got my OP5T today and it makes my Nexus 6P look as the slowest phone in the world. The fingerprint reader is more than twice as fast and everything seems to be done in a instant on the 5T. Face unlock works so fast it makes it feel like it is not even on. Pixel density, which was one of my biggest concerns, is not a problem at all, as I can't tell the difference from normal viewing angles, and the screen is so much brighter still.

Haven't tested the camera yet, but it doesn't seem like a downgrade from the 6P, which is fine by me, since I enjoy the camera from the 6P a lot already. But more on that later.

I still would much rather have a stock Android phone and get monthly updates, though. That is my biggest let down so far. Going back to Nougat feels like a massive step back.

Urgh, can't decide which to keep op5t or pixel 2 xl. I think I like just about everything more about the op5t than the pixel besides the stereo speakers. but the camera is hot garbage, and no im not gonna lug a DSLR around.

Decisions.

I feel like my ultimate phone is almost here.

Gimme a pixel with not garbage charging speeds and memory management and curvy shit screen.

Or give me a oneplus without garbage camera.

Feel like we almost at singularity.

A iPhone x that's plus sized and ios that's not buggy or laggy would be dope too!

Probably gonna buy a phone next by spring. Somewhere around 250-300 Euros. Not anything too out there, just decent. I am going to stick with Huawei again, as my Honor 7 Lite that I have for 1 and a half years now is going pretty damn well, and if it gets Oreo, then it can easily last another year. No lag, great cameras for its price, overall a solid package. But I do want more RAM and those new 18:9 screens are excellent. Question is though, do I wait it out for the Honor 7X to get cheap enough, or do I wait even later for 2018 Huaweis to launch? I mean the 670 is coming sooner or later, but the 659 as a chipset is already ludicrous at 4 2.4 cores and 4 1.7 cores, and I cannot see how the 670 could even top it, unless they decide to go with all 8 cores at that clock speed, or somehow manage to bring 10nm chips to the midrange.

If the camera is that important to you, your choices are very limited.

Ultimately you are paying a $500 premium, or the cost of a second 5T, plus giving up a decent screen, incredible fast charging, going from 8 GB to 4 GB of RAM, losing the incredible face unlock and headphone jack, and getting stereo speakers but a worse form factor. All this trade-off for a camera.

The choice is yours. Good luck.

Friend who got the Razer phone is pretty happy with his purchase.

Mind you, he is upgrading from a Note 3 lol.

I have a medium I use, whom Jobs speaks through.

So not literal guesses.
Can you ask him if he can order Cook to make a new iPad Mini with that sweet Pro screen, please?

What phone do you use Aiii?

Just got my lovely iPhone X yesterday actually. That's my main driver. 7 Plus before that. Ever since the Nexus 6P battery issues and that underwhelming Pixel announcement as well as Android Wear just not even remotely being in the same league as the Apple Watch I have stepped away from Android phones for a while.

Almost tried the Huawai Mate 10 Pro. Maybe I will get one when it drops in price a bit for fun.

My main Android usage atm comes from my Galaxy Tab S2 and I use an Xperia Z3 with Oreo for that awesomely sweet LDAC streaming as well during my commute, so that sort of counts.

Yeah Wear is on life support. How hard is it to just refocus it for fitness like Apple did? Or kill it. One or the other.

Google has no focus. I'm looking forward to their new messaging app. Allo clearly failed when even no one in this thread uses it.

So I signed up for Project Fi and order a Pixel XL 2 on Friday and it said it would be here Monday. Does that sound right, do packages usually move during the weekend?

Dunno if this is the right place but I'm sad...my s8+ slipped off the bed onto the hardwood floor and the corner of the screen got a chip. The screen protector popped right off. It really caught me off guard how such a short fall did that even with a protector and case. I guess it landed at just the angle to cause maximum damage.

Was quoted $299 for repair....rip

Just got an essential phone since it's $0 on Telus. It's so nice to have a modern fast phone. Ended up having the 360 cam on promo for $40 so I bit on it.

Surprised how nice it feels. Don't get the hate for it at all. Thank god I'm done with my previous snapdragon 808 phone. That chipset made my phone get so hot on simple tasks.

Still think your better off getting either a fitness band or else get one of the two Samsung Smartwatches. Samsung still seems to give a shit in this area and that includes the idea that Google is gonna update Wear to Oreo.

I don't think smartwatches are anywhere near where they should be at the moment. I don't have experience with the Apple Watch, but I've since ditched Android watches for fitness bands and it's much more useful to me. Has all the basics like notifications, caller ID, plus GPS, heartrate tracker, pedometer, time, workout and wakeup alarms, and the battery lasts for 6 days, waterproof, and can be charged in maybe 30 minutes (Garmin VivoSmart HR+).

After the Moto 360, I was intent on avoiding them until they matured. Then my partner got me a Gear S2 and the fact that it ran Tizen and had only a limited number of apps I could use really further cemented my distaste for them. Plus, it was buggy as hell.

Picked up a Razer Phone today after my Oneplus 5t arrived and it had a faulty power key. Happy with my purchase. The 120hz makes the 5t look slow. I can't go back to normal phones now. I hope this becomes the standard.

This is what I like about the Apple Watch -and what I initially expected Android Wear to move on to, but so far hasn't done- it has all those fitness features, but with added full control of your phone and the ability (and decent support) to install 3rd party applications. Having things like Authy on my wrist is a nice QoL update because I never take my phone with me at home, it's always out of reach for simple tasks like that. Battery life is pretty good too now, I charge mine like every other day for an hour in the morning and I'm good to go.

I really don't understand why Google didn't just copy/paste that general idea for Android Wear. They have some gorgeous watches, I loved the design of my Huawei Watch (and I dug the LG G Watch R I had before that, too), but the software just fails it.

Does anyone know of a good time + weather widget?

The feature I really want is the ability to show time for two timezones.

E.g. Time and weather for current location and then something saying that it's 18:00 in Malaysia.

Scrolled through some results on the play store. And they feel a bit dubious, like these apps will upload my phone's data to some S3 bucket haha.

more like "DRM fuckshit blocking HD streaming on OP5T until hoops are jumped thru"
android have always been a bitch with netflix.

think only like LG and samsung and google and sony have the drm level to support HD. HDR... like 3 phones? Anything support 4k downscale?

I'm paying for the more expensive netflix package, what does that get me lol
