No doubt it was integral to the story. But it did drag at times, it was made worse due to coming in the middle of the beast titan arc.
Yo, Levy fucking up the beast titan is my most anticipated scene of the next season.
Levi hype will guarantee a brilliant reception for the anime. My father and brother missed him greatly in the last season.

This manga is something else, I must have predicted 10 different versions of this chapter but I wasn't expecting this.
Haven't felt this hyped for a narrative since the Breaking Bad days.
Alright time for a quick rundown of which Titans are ready for the war:
1. Founding Titan: Comfortably inside of Eren
2. Attack Titan: Just used by Eren to assassinate Willy
3. Colossal Titan: Inside of Armin, MIA as of now, possibly in Marley.
4. Armored Titan: Inside of Reiner, currently MIA, possibly saved Falco.
5. Female Titan: Inside of Annie? Honestly is anyone's guess as of now, she could still be in the crystal, she could be in Marley helping the Survey or one of the Survey Corps ate her.
6. Beast Titan: Inside of Zeke, most likely to be first responder.
7. Jaw Titan: Inside of Porco, currently inside a deep hole with Pieck.
8. Cart Titan: Inside of Pieck, currently inside a deep hole with Porco (and somehow with food and drinks).
9. Warhammer Titan: Up in the air as of now. It is assumed that Willy has the power. But I wouldn't put it pass Isayama to pull over a fast one on us. Eren with 3 powers would make him seriously OP.
So we'll most likely get Attack vs Beast for now with Colossal having a mental breakdown after Eren's mindfuckery in 100.

The uprising arc is much better when read a second time around without the monthly waiting. I feel like the anime will do it justice if they pace it accordingly.

What's interesting about having two shifters stuck in a hole is that the Walldians basically have two shifter snacks stored away, if someone gets mortally wounded in the upcoming chapters(and they somehow have more titan serum which wouldn't be surprising at this point since they understand the methodology) they can bring them to the hole and titanize them to consume either Porco or Pieck.
I'm honestly curious at what the end goal is right now, Eren clearly understands that the world is not black and white, so what exactly is pushing him to go this far?
Excellent scene with Reiner, his entire arc has been beautiful so far.
I don't quite think either he or Falco are dead, I'm wondering if it's possible that Eren has captured both of them inside his own titan body.
I'd be surprised if Willy died this easily, surely he knew that his death would be a major blow as it would signify the lost of the warhammer titan.
It's possible that he doesn't actually has the titan power as BrickArts295 suggested, he could be a figure head of the family while someone else has it.
He could also still be alive, after Reiner survived getting his head chopped off I won't be so quick to call someone dead.

Only thing you're missing is that the Zeke and Eren have possibly met up with each other and are working together. One panel you see Zeke and Porco playing catch with baseball mits, few panels later you see Eren randomly has a baseball mit sitting next to him for no reason. Zeke has been listening in on Marley. And when Falco goes to get Reiner so they can secretly meet up with Eren, Zeke is the only one that approves of Reiner going. The biggest clue of all of those is the baseball thing. There was no reason for a baseball mit to randomly be next to Eren just panels after seeing Zeke with one.
There always find the plotting of this series somewhat incoherent, but the latter part of this chapter was brutal and powerful. God damn

Well... I imagine we haven't seen the last of her, but that particular story is from a 2014 novel.
He didn't write it and I imagine he merely approved it, same as for the other spin-offs.
It' an OVA that is bundled with the 24th volume of the manga, which comes out on December 8th in Japan (actually it's already out). It should be online in a matter of hours. It's adapting the first half of the "Lost Girls" spin-off story about Annie. Another OVA will be bundled with volume 25 (coming out on April 9th 2018) and will adapt the remaining half of Annie's story. Then a third OVA will be bundled with volume 26 (coming out on August 9th 2018) and will adapt Mikasa's story (also from "Lost Girls").
As you can see in the trailer this episode is number 16.5, which means that it's taking place between episode 16 and episode 17.
Damn son, that Marco scene is breaking me.
I'm guessing they'll show the bare minimum in this and show the whole thing when we reach that part in the anime.
I forgot about that. Damn if this is true, this is a foolproof plan. Specially if Willy ends up being Warhammer. Reiner will be the only one left to defend Marley, but honestly I don't think he will, unless he become soldier Reiner all of the sudden.

I think Eren believes people are redeemable, but I don't think he believes this Tybur guy's faction is redeemable. I think the goal is to deal with that group and then probably negotiate a peace with Marley that includes the unconditional release of all Eldians to the island to be left alone (likely with all titan powers). Zeke and Eren have a nice moment over the end of the war.

It has been shown that there's some degree of memory sharing via contact if willed, it could be the whole (grown?) Tybur family share those memories so we have one with all the Titan memories acting as a believable decoy while the one who actually has them stays in the shadows.
Or we'll be surprised and he really straight up dies and we have a random Titan show up somewhere.

When eren killed Zeke's mom with the founding titan's power he sent her mind though the paths and she ended up possessing Zeke.
Could be a ruse on his part as well. He kind of seems like the wildcard here on a battle where we don't exactly what each side's specific plans are as of yet.

Quick question: the "subjects of ymir" are the descendant/family of ymir or all the people that shared the same ethnicity? In particular, the first one that she's able to turn into titans.

I can't believe how good it is. Eren wrecking shit and killing commanders. The death of Zofia and (probably) Ugo. The warhammer titan. The scouting legion. Mikasa. Honestly one of the best chapters of the manga. The build up from the past 10 chapters was completely worth it.
Those belly flops are a bit mess up Eren, but I'm guessing we has trying to kill the real Warhammer user in case it wasn't Willy.
Anyways, this is truly the anniversary chapter, so many character deaths, all titans have revealed themselves and best girl has joined the party after being MIA. That last panel is definitely raising flashback flags for the next chapter.

Zeke/Reiner are the keys to not creating another generation repeating their mistakes. We'll see how successful they are at handling this.
