As a former illini and chicsgoann; I urge you all to try window city pies to understand what good pizza means. And what it can be.

Real Chicago-style is usually pretty loaded up, isn't it? The one time I had Windy City, it had a regular amount of pizza toppings but about five pounds of crust. It was like paying $35 for a pizza-adjacent loaf of bread.

Are there any other takers for meeting at Stumbling Monk this Saturday, at say 7?

I'm doubly excited; it's been a while since patronage there

Can't make it this Saturday (going to the PNB), but hopefully we can do another meet up at some point.

Bok a Bok Korean fried chicken opens in the former Paseo spot next to Neumos today! Funny how Paseo's star has fallen over the last few years: that location only lasted about six months.

I still miss the Belgian frite place in that spot... what... holy shit... over a decade ago now... ate there after the Arcade Fire show at Neumos in 2004.

I'm old.

The fish and chips place that took over just wasn't the same.

Last time I was in the fish and chips place (I had walked there from Swedish, where my wife and new baby were, to pick us up some food), I saw a mouse run out of the kitchen. One of the cooks had kind of chased it out. We made eye contact. I stayed in line, ordered the food and ate it anyway :) I told the wife about it after we finished eating, and she was fine with it, hehe

I had friends that worked there or knew people who did: pretty sure the fish was just a front for drug deals, hah.

I'll be happy to come next time. I always meant to go to a meetup on the last forum after I moved to Seattle for good last year.

I'll be visiting family out on the east coast for the holidays, but I'll be back after Jan 4, so I'll make time if there's a meetup after then.

Well I fucked up... I got the job. So now I have to make the very hard decision about moving to Seattle or not.

Regardless of that, I enjoyed my time in the city. Thanks for some of the suggestions. Nice place, nice downtown area. Kind of wish I saw it when it was raining though lol. The sunny weather was almost like false advertising.

Walked my daughter over to Candy Cane Lane tonight and saw a sad pathetic lack of Christmas lights on houses. Cmon people. I know we're not a religious bunch here but Christmas lights are pretty.

I think my house is the only one on my block with lights on it.

Real Seattle here aka Capitol Hill.

I desperately want to move out of Cap Hill.
Capital Hill has become techhipster hill and has been for a while. Though I got priced out when I bought a house to shoreline which is infinitely worse. I have no room to talk.

Is South Seattle any better?

My neighbor. It's also blasting Christmas music 24/7.
