Don't know if this was posted. The first AEW champ will be Omega or Jericho vs. the winner of the battle royale

Lol, when I saw that news, I had a vague memory of you saying he is a geek so I'm glad my memory is correct. This is especially funny because Evolve didn't sign Ace Perry, who has a killer match with Stallion and Stallion openly advocated for Evolve to sign. Well, Gabe needed to revert to form after making the good decision to sign Stallion. And at least Wolf had a good match with Anthony Greene during the last shows.

Uhhhh, Kevin Nash fucking rules???

I don't want to say he was the only, because my memory about that time is...willingly selective considering the sheer volume of awful shit visible that whole week/weekend and I could be missing out on some folk, but he was definitely one of The Only wrestlers not just to tweet during the Charlottesville mess, but to tweet in condemnation of it and in support of the Black Lives Matter activists in general

7 years before Darren Young came out to TMZ and brought new life to the entire conversation of openly-out wrestlers in major wrestling promotions, in general and in America, Kevin Nash went to Outsports (at a time when interviewers always had to come to the subjects and ask for time for questions, he went to them. an openly LGBTQ+ sports site) and talked about his support of LGBTQ+ rights and how he wanted to make sure wrestlers felt comfortable being themselves in a locker room he was in, and that he didn't like that people had to feel afraid of that
Fun fact: 6 years after that, a contributor to Outsports ran marathons to raise money for a Chicago charity with the ultimate goal of ending the AIDS epidemic. He found out about it and made a donation to the campaign

He told ESPN 3 years ago that he'd made the decision 6-7 years before that that he agreed to donate his brain and spinal cord to the CTE Center at Boston University and the Concussion Legacy Foundation that Christopher Nowinski started. Nash was one of the first people supportive of what Nowinski was pursuing, by Nowinski's own admission, and has worked with him off and on in the study since their first real talks about it

I completely get why people are surprised (the first time they hear about it, or constantly when thinking about it). It is a wrestler we're talking about, after all. But he's def put in the work

Was that the guy who was randomly inserted into some Evolve main events and was sloppy as all hell?
It's quite a tale.

June 24, 2018, Evolve 107: 4th from the top (if you count the dark main event): Saieve Al Sabah vs. Bad Bones vs. Jaka vs. Jon Davis
August 4, 2018, Evolve 108: opener: Saieve Al Sabah vs. Anthony Henry
August 5, 2018, Evolve 109: 2nd match: Saieve Al Sabah vs. AR Fox
August 11, 2018, Evolve 110: semi-main event: Austin Theory & Shane Strickland w/Priscilla Kelly vs. Joey Janela & Saieve Al Sabah w/Penelope Ford
August 12, 2018, Evolve 111: opener: Saieve Al Sabah vs. Jaka

Asks for his release and goes back to working small indies in the American Southeast.

In hindsight, Austin Theory & Strickland vs. Janela and Saieve Al Sabah has to be one of the most random matches in recent memory.

the best stuff worth watching:

Night 4: Narita/Eagles, Romero/Ospreay (one of the best matches so far)
Night 5: Sho/Taka, Lee/Gresham, Shingo/Kanemaru (kinda)
Night 6: Ospreay/Yoh, maybe ELP/Eagles

not the strongest nights. Night 7 was good top to bottom. I recommend the whole thing

Thanks!

Saieve/Jaka is one of the worst matches I have ever seen. I think Saieve botched almost every move in the match and still won.

ohhh yeah I forgot about that guy, didn't think of him as "the vest guy"

GCW randomly booked him once after he left EVOLVE and then never again

Yeah that tag was supposed to be Janela/Fox until they announced like day of that "AR Fox refuses to team with Janela after their match at the last EVOLVE show" or some shit

I'd rather watch Saieve over Trey Miguel, Stephen Wolf, or Ace Austin

mattsdl don't know if you saw, the pre Queendom EVE show is in Brighton, at the Riptide venue

Venue is v close to the station so assuming it keeps to time, might be doable going back to London?

https://wrestlingnews.co/wwe-news/w...ssault-claims-made-in-2016-by-ashley-massaro/

WWE said:
WWE is saddened by the death of Ashley Massaro, and we reiterate our condolences to her family. However, we regret that her attorney Konstantine Kyros, who filed multiple cases against WWE, lost all of them, and was sanctioned multiple times by the Court for repeated misconduct and false allegations, is using Ashley's death to further his malicious campaign against WWE by releasing an affidavit that she submitted to the Court and later apologized to WWE for being involved with, so we wish to make certain things crystal clear.

At no time was Vince McMahon or the management of WWE ever informed by Ashley Massaro or anybody else that she had been sexually assaulted, drugged, raped or sodomized by a military doctor with a nurse standing guard while on a goodwill tour in 2007 to U.S. military bases in Kuwait. In fact, if she ever articulated such a claim to WWE, we would have reported it immediately to the Base Commander.

At no time was there ever a meeting with Vince McMahon, Kevin Dunn, John Laurinaitis or other company executives in which she told them of such a claim and was instructed to keep it quiet.

It's really something to see. So much disgusting shit WWE's doing, all at once, one after the other in rapid succession. Usually it's more spread out over the year/years. Now? They just don't care
