NGL I'm happy to see the World of Darkness alive and well. I wasn't thrilled with the direction they took the books after the Apocalypse/Gehenna.

I was kinda worried that because of the crummy reveal game they were gonna have a really powerful selection of unrevealed games that made me somehow regret pausing. No, just underwhelming all the way down luckily. Paratopic is the big one though.

I did a pretty exhaustive write-up on every game included in the SNK 40th Anniversary Collection.

Also, there's an issue with dual-analog controllers present in the PS4 version.

the review said:
Unfortunately, not everything about the SNK 40th Anniversary Collection is great. Due to the nature of the rotary games, a workaround had to be devised. Therefore, the player can use the PS4's analogue sticks to move and aim, just like in a common twin-stick shooter. It's a good feature, but the problem is, it's subject to severe input issues. At least once every five minutes, there's either going to be a moment where the player-character moves on their own, or their aim will be locked to the wrong direction. Whenever this issue crops up, it'll take a second for the person holding the controller to realize what's going on. That's time enough for one of the Ikari Warriors to run headfirst into a bullet, or for Che Guevara to accidentally hit a POW.

Needless to say, when playing games where the slightest mistake is severely punished, errors that are out of the player's hands are unforgivable. On the bright side, there are alternatives. By mapping the rotary functions to the face-buttons instead of the right stick, it's possible to aim and shoot without any potential problems. Also the d-pad can be used for movement, which keeps the heroes from occasionally charging into certain death, but it's brutal on the thumbs. These aren't ideal solutions, but they're the only way to avoid the possibility of losing control at the worst possible moment.

I don't know if the PC version rectifies this or what.

Moonlighter got a major free update last month, so it might be worth it to reassess the statement Gevin. Otherwise yeah, base Moonlighter seems like it was a dissapointment.

Hellblade, while mechanically there isn't much going on, is still a must play IMO, with great visuals and some of the best sound design I've experienced in a game.

I mean, what kind of games do you like?

Dont Starve is a quite nice survival game with tons of free updates. The problem I would say is that the game is meant for you to die a lot (you unlock more stuff and sometimes just shit happens), and once you have played several times, the start always feels samey.

I like survival games. Too much going by how much EA stuff I have

A weird happening on Steam that probably no one here cares about. There was a puzzle game called "Abrix the robot" that was something along the lines of Chip's Challenge and Sokoban with color-matching. As a puzzle-game fiend I tried it and wasn't a fan. Controls were too awkward for the time limit and occasional action elements, the isometric perspective made it slightly harder to read spatial relationships, and the puzzle design itself was terribly uneven. That didn't stop the developers from cranking out 2 more Abrix games, one with easy levels for kids and one with larger levels for experts.

Today I noticed on Steam's "recently updated" feed that there's another Abrix game, and I already own it? Turns out the developers decided that the best response to the tepid response the game got was to remake it from scratch. The new game, "Abrix 2" is top-down (good), no time limit (good), slightly uglier (eh), free-to-play (um), and completely replaced all the former versions (what?). Previous owners were given a set of boosters and premium currency to compensate for the fact that the old versions no longer exist.

The free-to-play model they chose is pretty much just Candy Crush. Boosters to give you an advantage, and 5 lives that regenerate at a rate of 1 every 15 minutes. Restarting a puzzle because you got stuck costs a life. A block-pushing puzzle game gives you just 5 attempts every hour and a quarter. I'd take isometric awkwardness over that, for sure.

It's not some grand injustice or anything, considering I wasn't going to go back and play Abrix anyway. It's just weird to see a developer pull a game from owners' libraries and replace it with something this much worse.

Canada, eh?
Just checked out the Epic launcher and noticed that Ubisofts games are back on there and they are on Sale.

The Divison 2 is 30.19 with the 10 dollar discount, Anno 1800 is 37.99 with the discount.

the trick of Humble Monthlies: take advantage of the B/S/T thread and you can get the games you actually want for a net pittance. there are only two games I wanted this month, but i'll actually make a few bucks profit off of selling the rest when all is said and done

(it helps that I sold BOIIII Battle Edition right away and wound up with an extra copy to sell when they added the Standard Edition)

Not for everyone. Since PayPal introduced fixed fee some need to pay up to 5$ on top of the price seller wants.

The Baldur's Gate 3 forums on Steam are amazing.
There is almost zero info about the game and people are already screaming about :
-The game being turn based
-The game not being turn based
-Evil SJWs
