Late to this but catching up on all the E3 podcast talks and oh my god they need to scrutinise chat more. "Chat told me The Witcher barely runs on PS4" is fucking madness. I can't believe that slide by unquestioned.

The past few months I never understood the negativity towards the podcast in this thread here, but after watching Liam and Matt's recent output (sonic 06 and their E3 streams), I fully understand.

It's so nice to watch the two of them enjoy what they're doing and being fair and favourable towards even a game as bad as 06. It's really hilighted how much of Pat and Woolies recent stuff is just constant negativity and whining.

The 3rd birthday playthrough is genuinely funny but you can actually hear Minn get annoyed as it gets further on. Pat meanwhile has descended past parody.

Most WoolieVS LPs tend to be pretty positive, especially the ones with Reggie. The Third Birthday is bringing him down because it's a character assassination of a character he liked.

Yeah, that broke down for me when I realized neither of them have 1 litre plastic milk jugs available near them.

I literally can't remember when the last time I got a carton of milk. I've been getting jugs since childhood.

The Milk Bag discussion was the Canadian Focused Content I want.

Can you press your face against a carton of milk and feel it surround your face?

Check mate Americans.

I actually love the podcast now. Moments like Pat going "Randy dont go to Japan" or watching Woolie completely turn on Game of Thrones have been honestly amazing, with my only problem being the parts where they spend half an hour on something I dont care about at all.

I like Matt and Liam going through 06 too but its a different style.

Oh no it seems Woolie got to the ending of 3rd Birthday, unless something before that has broken him. It's like tailor-made to kill a franchise it is honestly amazing just how bad it is.

I just started Judgement, this game is slick as hell

looking through the menus, it has all your classic Yakuza "eat everything at every restaurant" things as well

there even appears to be some sort of side mission where you have to 'back' projects on a website called 'Quickstarter' and become a gold tier backer

I can already tell there's gonna be some wacky fuckin side quests in this game

Speaking of sidequest, I didn't expect Sonic to have a sidequest where an old man pretending to be a ghost gives you challenges, and then a lady asks you to go destroy a car

The character introduction cards are so slick that i wonder if they'll return for the main games or if we will keep our dumb Yakuza font going that you see everywhere now.

I think the intention here is that Judgement becomes as popular or more popular than Yakuza in the West, and they continue the series alongside the new Yakuza stuff

i wouldn't be shocked if they were already planning a Judgement 2

They plan really far ahead, they already have the story for the sequel for Shin Yakuza planned out or at least started a bit ago.

I just wish Judgement wasn't set in Kamurocho. I'm pretty burnt out on Yakuza in general but them reusing the setting again was a deal breaker for me. At least for now.

i dont think i could ever get sick of Kamurocho

it's familiarity feels like part of the point, that so much crazy shit keeps happening in this dense place

I can take it since they mix it up with the shops and activities. It's a playing field with personality. As far as annual franchises are concerned i take this over yearly sports games and a lot of people can enjoy that too.
It's what you do in it that decides how exciting things are and now that combat acknowledges the existence of walls outside heat actions it gets pretty slick and it can go places with that. Don't worry i know that there is money being saved here by doing that, but getting a good story and the huge amount of funsies you get in side-missions is well worth it for me since i have to cut down to 2-3 games a year.

I love how the setting evolves over time but with Yakuza 6 I was hoping they'd let things rest for a time. When they announced a new IP I was hoping for something new and out there instead of basically a Yakuza spin off.

Part of it is I've played a crap load of Yakuza over the years so I'm finally feeling the burnout. Gimme a Binary Domain 2.

I'd take a break if i had to play through all of Y5,that's a lot of video game for one game, so i understand that. The crazy catch-up people did for 6 was some shit i couldn't do in that time.

It's crazy how good they are getting the out of cutscene face animations

going back even a few years and the difference between the in and out of cutscene animations were far apart
