I don't want to sound mean but when I hear somebody talk constantly about The Office and Friends I picture someone who doesn't have very broad entertainment interests or have many hobbies and just spends their free time lounging on the couch browsing the internet on their phone while binging the same sitcoms over and over on Netflix as "background noise." Which is totally fine. But it's not the kind of person I'd want to be with.

The average person has many of the same likes. They will be similar, it's just that without access to mass amounts of people most don't realise this

That's true. It's just a shame that so many of those shared interests have to be so generic.

I see this way too often on Bumble and... that's not how Bumble works!

Lol yeah that's like the exact opposite of how Bumble works.

I hate it when I try out some funny jokes like 'Have you heard about the Titanic?'and they're like it's 'Long and Full of Semen' or Have you heard the thing about butter and they're like 'I want you to freeze a butter stick and use it to beat my ass like a Bongo Drum'.

When they only have group photos and you still can't figure out which one of them they are. Bonus points if they only have blurry night photos.

Some of the standard interests do make people feel interchangeable after a while.

- I love the Office
- Gryffindor!
- I'm a wine and whiskey gal!
- A picture in front of some street art with angel wings.
- A yoga picture.
- A dog pic.
- Filters for dayyyyyys

Oh God, how could I forget

"Must love adventures"
"Tell me about an adventure you went on"
"Adventures are must"

Lol, and when they say adventure they mean going to a new place to eat or some coffee shop, or something that isn't an adventure. But don't forget you're gonna have to pay for everything.

Painfully low-effort women's profiles.

A selfie, a vacation/happy hour pic, and maybe a blurb about wine.

I've literally stopped writing first to any match with no bio whatsoever and like three pics with nothing that interesting to hook on to. I could give you a "hey" because that's the level of effort you seem to match, but why bother...

You'd think this is a joke but I remember actually seeing people with this quote on their bios.

Also some version of "if you like pina coladas and getting caught in the rain."

It must work for them, because I see it all the time. I guess I'd do it too if it got the DMs flowing.

I get it tho, the hotter you are the less you have to try.

Whereas I'm overweight and actually have a convey a personality and varying interests.

The thing that I'm most proud of though is, I took my full body picture next to a dog so its like "yeah, I'm fat, but here's a cute dog". And it worked.

How could I forget the Snapchat dog filter.
Oh god, I forgot about this too. Granted it's been a year and a half but those dog filters were definitely a pet peeve. No pun intended.

No one bothers with the dog anymore, it's just straight up "beauty" filters now. And it's not at all uncommon for all 6+ pics to be filtered.
I remember those too. The ones that "soften" your features. People use it because it obscures blemishes, makes your skin look lighter and smoother, makes your eyes bigger, your nose smaller and your face thinner. People think it eliminates their "flaws." I wouldn't go out with a glowing big eyed Snapchat person haha.

People who won't shut the fuck up about dogs.

Must love dogs. Only here to pet your dog. Will like your dog more than you.

Or the always classic "Will never love you as much as my dog". Like, is that supposed to be endearing?

In my age group it's all coffee loving adventure seekers who are well traveled and love their fur baby!

This hurts.
