Mannnn, this Barco saga is getting me down. I can't tell if Independiente management are just trying to squeeze every last dollar out of ATLUTD or if there actually is interest from Europe. Thought among supporters is that we will sign Asad if Barco does not come but ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Great get for the Timbers, Savarese will help provide a great vision for the team. I wonder if he'll have some growing pains adjusting to the salary cap though.

He's a really really good coach. He goes above and beyond for his players and they tend to do the same for him. When the Cosmos were going under he used every single one of his contacts to make sure the guys on his team would have a place to keep playing if that's what they wanted, he called in literally every favor he had to ensure it.

Plus he helped build the RBNY academy. If the Timbers are smart they'll not only be using his as an excellent head coach, but will be picking his brain in order to figure out how to improve their academy.

Basically, you guys got one of the good ones. That's just a great hiring.

Ugh, stupid Colorado. Zero weather advantage, we're just such a better team overall. Hope they don't pull the shame bullshit they did this season at BMO.

A Honduran club for RBNY. I'd be more confident if we weren't blowing the team up again. Well, let's see what trades Jesse has in mind and if he can get them all in some semblance of form before the start.

Tied 1-1? What bullshit are you referring to?

The Rapids don't look to be lighting things up with getting good players, so should be another bad season unless something changes or this new coach works a miracle.

It was a masterclass in time wasting and fake injuries. It was gross, Colorado didn't want to play.

I see that there are no NYFC fans around but I just wanted to congratulate them for signing Tinnerholm. What a player, will certainly make a difference for that team.

Nashville is one of the two expansion teams. Announcement is being made tomorrow, 4 p.m. local time at the Country Music Hall of Fame.

Cincinnati has to be the second team, because with Columbus moving to Austin, they can't turn the entire region into a black hole for the league. No presence in Detroit, Cleveland, Cincy, Columbus, Indy would be pretty bad.

You can unfortunately throw me into the suckers who continue to line Jay Sugarman's pockets with my Union season ticket money, what's another year of mediocrity at best when I've lived through the first 8.

Also Nashville getting in is a joke but that's what happens when rich guys see free money from state/local governments.

Just found out I get my normal season seats for the leg of Rapids vs. Toronto FC that will be hosted in Denver as part of my membership. Nice little gift!

I hope it's Sacramento strictly because I like the logo.

Added you to the list.

Also, I added a poll for the remaining expansion announcement

Will they play Tim McGraw after every goal like the Preds do?

I have feeling the second team might be Sacramento Republic more than anything. Who knows.

Weren't we always in the West? Minnesota being in the Midwest makes fine sense geographically and is in the Western conferences of the NBA and NHL.

I think as long as Columbus is moving, you're eventually going to see Minnesota shifted to the East to make up for it. Especially if they move and Cincinnati isn't announced in this round.

Miami is coming in eventually, to the East.
3/4 expansion candidates, Nashville, Cincy, Detroit, are East of Minnesota.

Even if Columbus turns into Austin and ends up in the West, Minnesota could still be in the West.

From two years ago when E/W was even:

West:
Minnesota
LAFC

East:
Atlanta
Miami
Nashville
Cincy

Columbus to Austin just evens it up at 13 teams per conference.

Miami will happen in like 2066 when David Beckham's brain has been transferred to a robot body and Sac Republic still aren't in MLS.

I won't lie though, looking forward to a Nashville-ATL rivalry.

As far as the actual teams go, I like Sacramento the best. However, I'm not a big fan of California getting so many teams. Four is alright, but I'd prefer them to be more spread out, with four being the max.

If it were up to me, LAFC wouldn't be a thing. The Galaxy would've moved downtown, and the league would've expanded to Sacramento and San Diego.

From what I'm seeing now, it appears to be Cincinnati's to lose. Seeing "second hand" reports coming out that Kevin Nagle somehow fucked it up for Sacramento while seeing more national reporters saying it's close but Cincinnati has the edge.

There is also the darkest timeline: It's Detroit and the reason for the delay is they're waiting to see if NASL's lawsuit falls through so they can force Detroit City FC out of existence.

Yes. MLS wants that because they want Detroit's massive media market (it's about 5-6 million people big ... YES THAT MANY PEOPLE LIVE IN THE AREA)

EDIT: So long story short:

  • Nobody knows what is going on anymore.
  • Everything is on fire.
  • Cincinnati maybe? Who knows.
  • Anthony Precourt still sucks
