there are rudimentary patches for Zero and Ao with good versions on the wayFinally getting back into SC. How is the community going to go about playing the games in English after CS2? Apparently you need to know Zero/Ao for CS3 and now CS4 has been announced too.

I hope this doesn't come off as rude or offensive, but how can you know how much of the Crossbell arc CS3 spoils if you haven't played Zero/Ao? I think I've seen people saying that CS3 spoils pretty much every twist in Ao.A dissenting opinion I know, but I haven't played Zero/Ao myself and I enjoyed CS3 just fine. They bring you up to speed on everything you need to know, you just lack the sense of attachment. They dance around outright spoiling anything; from what I know about Zero/Ao's story there's very little CS3 gives away. It was the same sort of feeling I had playing CS1/2 before Sky trilogy, I knew there was more behind the story, but it wasn't effecting my enjoyment of the game. I feel like CS3 more heavily leans on the Sky trilogy than Crossbell, but even then I think they did a good job showing the weight of the necessary references in-game assuming you hadn't played any of them at all (except for of course CS1/2, which I just don't see how you can avoid playing first).

Which doesn't include Zero/Ao so SOL there. To be frank, I know many gave up on ever seeing Zero/Ao a long time ago and just read the wikis to keep up with the series. That's why I urge everyone to catch up on all the games out now, preferably in order.

I think that Astrael is trying to say is that yes, some of the pivotal things will be glanced over. But in the end you still do not know the details, how it happens, whatever. And i agree. Being a purist is just not going to be able with this series, and while it sucks there is nothing that can be done about it except waiting for a decent fan translation which is in the works. CS1 also reveals that olivier was in Liberl so if you go play that afterwards it spoils his identity. Cold Steel also spoils that there is a big magical tree on crossbell, a huge spoiler of the direction the games come in but you still do not get the details of what that tree was. Or the Trade Conference which is gone over largely in CS too.I hope this doesn't come off as rude or offensive, but how can you know how much of the Crossbell arc CS3 spoils if you haven't played Zero/Ao? Alright, I see what you mean. Though in this topic, I see people suggesting we play Sky and Crossbell first to maximize our enjoyment of CS3, not that we'd feel terribly lost without having played them first. And ultimately that's what it is, a suggestion. If you know you don't care much about being spoiled, there's nothing wrong with ignoring it. Whatever works for you.I just looked everything up afterwards and compared it to what I learned in CS3, there is a ton I had no clue about. I was more addressing that the enjoyment of the game was not contingent on me having played the prior games, not that it avoided all spoilers. The spoilers that I learned about were the broadest of strokes with little to no context, and they felt similar to how they handled the Sky trilogy spoilers in CS3 (or even CS1/2).
I have no intention to mislead anyone, I apologize for the confusing post. I'm no authority on the subject, just a random player playing everything out of order lol.
Trails 3rd is eligible to vote in the ResetERA GotY posts, y'all. Just saying... :)

That's the problem.I don't think anybody in the press plays these games.
Got a link?
Wrong thread friend :PSome of these late game collectables are bringing back nightmares from the first game. "Oh god, I remember the pain of collecting these..."
AndThe world tree is like Mechonis all over again, almost. And that transformed Torna ship was a full on Mechon reference. Has some clear similarities to them and Metal Face in particular.
Lol. This game. At least the developers realize how shitty the positions they are putting monsters in are and at least have some work arounds.
UM on an area surrounded by ledges, because that's apparently what Monolith Soft went for with late game enemies to make things difficult. Nia gets pushed off, but there is a floor so she didn't die, but she can't run to get back to the location. Rex ends up getting KO'd. Since Nia is the designated "reviver" by the AI, and she can't reach Rex, the game eventually straight up ends the battle despite having a full party gauge to recover. The tank made no effort to reach Rex despite being like 5 feet away from him.
They better keep that subtitle when it comes to the west. LolSo like this might be the only non-spoiler thing that can be shown I hear. Screenshots and site are spoilery of CS3.
Fall 2018
Wow...
those screenshots, the key visual...
HYPE
Want to double check this:
Since some things feel different when you see it converted from 2D to these 3D models, just want to check.
Is purple haired girl Renne? She was my first thought.
I definitely agree on the visuals and screenshots
Regarding the spoiler
I believe that is Renne but the biggest question is...... Estelle and Joshua coming maybe...?

I need to play 3 ASAP. Has the Asian Chinese version of 3 been announced yet or are there any plans for it?
Is it safe to look at the artwork, or is even that full of spoilers? >_<
That's the weird thing, haven't seen anything on that front. I wouldn't be too concerned tho. Just means the kiseki games are getting larger.
