People can talk about reviews, whether they agree or don't with them. What they don't need are defensive positions taken by others gamers, attacking them for their opinion.
This comparison makes no sense without also comparing the relative complexity of both games. I mean, MMOs can have thousands of people connected to one server, so now all MMOs are 10/10 games?

Honestly There have been a lot of attempts at "getting" battle royale right and I do believe this game does it. Even if the game suffers some form of performance problems the mechanics of the game itself i think has set the standard of how to do a battle royale game.
But to me i haven't played it only watched streams. Some of the gameplay scenarios bring up some of the most intense games I haven't seen before in a multiplayer game and to me brings something new to the table

Well, one is a multiplayer shooter and the other is a singler-player platformer. I think right off the bat it's hard to do an apples-to-apples comparison. For what it's worth I have played and enjoyed immensely Mario Odyssey and haven't so much as played a single match of PubG. I don't really play enough games to completion these days to have a Game of the Year that counts for anything, but if I did I'd probably go ahead and vote Mario my Game of the Year with Zelda a close second. They practically win by default just because I haven't actually finished anything else.
Having said that, I have read a PubG thread or two just to try to get an understanding of what the big deal is. My suspicion is that it's not really a game for me, but hearing people that do enjoy the hell out of it talk about it I can totally understand why some might think it's a better game than Mario Odyssey.
Like I said before, if this is the future of gaming and the best the world has to offer. In terms of "best MP" and quality...the bar must be pretty low.
Games as a serivce. Service games. They are inherently never finished by your standard because they are always advertising and release new content to continue to drive players back to the game. That means that any game that adds content which is advertised is not finished until every piece of advertised content is released. Which in the case of Overwatch which is always adding new heroes means the game will never be finished.
Well it's all about wherever that person has played those other games.
I can't say wherever PUBG is a better game than Persona 5 because I have not played it (Persona 5).
I can say that Mario Odyssey, Zelda BOTW and Horizon are better games than PUBG because I have played them all.
If Bernardo has played Mario, BOTW and Zelda and says PUBG is a better game than those I disagree, but it's his opinion. I respect that opinion even though I disagree with it.
What is weird is when someone says game X is better than game Y and Z and this person has not played game Y and Z.

Well, I think PUBG's handling of an H&KM416 at 200m is better than Mario Odyssey's.
Not sure a game with so many faults can get a 10 from anybody. Gives the impression somebody is pushing for this.
Not saying anything underhanded is happening but you have to question such a result, especially as other games with similar faults get hammered.

What makes Mario BOTW or Persona 5 better than PUBG? Nothing. Here's what you don't seem to realize: there are no such things as a game being objectively the best. That's not a thing, and it's never going to be a thing. I couldn't give a rat's ass what Brendan thinks what his game of the year is, that has zero bearing on mine.
Rain World is also better than any of the games you mentioned, btw.

Uh? SC isn't getting ten out of tens and it's not being ported to consoles either, since it's still in development. Also I barely talk about PUBG at all, especially not enough for it to be called constant...plus you didn't just hear? it's no longer "early access".
This thread is full of the video game equivalent of MAGA hats, yearning to return to a past they either don't remember properly, or who are too young to have lived through it, when every game was rated as an average of Graphics, Sound, Story, "Gameplay", and whatever else arbitrary category looked good with a neat graphic.

PUBG is without a doubt deserving of a 10/10, warts and all. The core gameplay elevates it so far above any other multiplayer game I have ever played. The performance was fantastic on the test server too, I'm getting ~100fps where I was getting 50-60 before. Add in the new map, replay mode, killcam, and quality of life enhancements and I can see myself playing this for years.
I've played them all. Both PUBG and Rain World are better games easily.

Man I should just play COD WWII. It has much more modes and maps so it has to be better!
The game is fun as shit, and that's what I look for most out of a game.

The games fun. Really fun. And a good, new experience for a lot of people. Honestly I feel like PUBG, a new game from a new developer in a (for most) brand new genre, should be getting MORE praise. It's fantastic.
I own PUBG, but I've only played it for a couple of hours since buying it months ago. I've never been much of a multiplayer gamer, but I think the entertainment the game offers is immediately obvious. Much like Overwatch, I am not sure a review can truly capture how enjoyable the game is. You need to play it for yourself.

Yeah, as someone that's not the biggest fan of PUBG, this is a pretty crummy stance to take. Content isn't king. Gameplay and fun are. And I can see someone having enough fun with this game to think it's a 10/10 for them.
How many platformers are there? How many Mario platformers? How many 3D Mario platformers? More than BR.
How many BR games that were created by PU exist? How many complete BR games are out there?
You're acting like BR games have been around for decades when this is the game to popularize the genre. It's like asking what makes the original iPhone so special we've had smartphones forever.
