If you ever went camping in Europe, you will know that its super organized. Large campsites with communal camping, open spaces with little to no privacy outdoors, and lots of social interaction with your tent neighbors. Hell even some of the reservation spots are large enough to accommodate several parties.
Anyway, we set up our tents in a spot right next to some other girls who got there the same day. After several hours while we were sitting outside our tents and enjoying our booze in the afternoon sun, some of the girls came back from the showers. And this is where my issue lies. One of the girls decided that instead of entering their spacious tent they just started getting dressed under their towel, and unsuccessfully. I admit that some of us looked, but what else can you exactly do if they decided to flash everyone while changing outzide of their tent?

Why not just bring it up to them that hey, you can see them getting dressed, and want them to know and hate to be weird about it?

Might as well just bring it to their attention. If they keep doing it that's their choice.

They were extremely obnoxious to everyone from the first bour and the first thing they did was call security on another group who told them to keep quiet during common rest hours, which is upheld by the law. If we approached them for something like that god knows what they could have started doing.

They have less hangups with nudity (there's a thread on the front page about this right now).

Just don't be a creep and make them feel uncomfortable, and you've done nothing wrong.

You did nothing wrong OP. They decided to get dressed in public. It's human nature to look. Just don't be a creep about it and you're fine

Hum, i'm comfortable with nudity so i wouldn't mind her doing it, unless she didn't know that there were people around.

Oh about looking? Uh just don't try to exploit the situation i guess. I try not to look just to make it clear that i'm not trying to take advantage of a moment of fragility.

Not much of a dilemma in my opinion. I assume anyone changing like that is fine with people seeing. If she was that worried about it you'd figure she would have went into her tent. Long as yall weren't out there staring these ladies down your good imo.

Nothing wrong with looking, just don't, you know. Stare. Don't make it weird.
Like I recently said in another thread, I'm used to nude beaches and saunas, and just looking at nude people who are willingly nude is never wrong.
But if you stare like it's for your entertainment, it becomes an issue.

This comes off more as a stealth "I saw a naked woman!" thread.

What's the ethical dilemma? Haven't you ever visited a beach before?

I mean obviously you don't stare, but it did feel a bit uncomfortable after the 2nd time when I saw enough of her body. And its not like she didn't notice us seeing anything, we were like 2 metres away and all facing in that direction. The worse was when her friends shot angry glances at us as if we were at fault for noticing her, like how do you even think that no one is gonna look when its out in the open?

I don't see the point of this thread? Some girl changed in front of you and you feel... bad? I don't get it.

This ain't no "ethical dilemma", this is a straight up problem. Get them thrown out.

The ethical dilema according to OP is this - does he tell her she is changkng, as he put it, unsuccessfully. But I dont think it is one. That would be HER ethical dilema if anything; 'should I be changing in full view or enter my tent?'

Don't get the problem. Even if you stared at them, I don't get the problem. They chose to get naked in public

That's a moral dilemma. No laws or rules would be broken by looking.

How could you tell that her friend shot angry glances at you if you weren't staring?

If you see people changing and don't want to stare you look away... is this a hard concept for some people? If you look away and then start looking again it's absolutely ok for her friend to be mad at you.

Is there something interesting in that direction or why would you look over to their side all the time? Talk to your group, do your own stuff... Who looks in the direction of other people for more than a glance? You're not in a zoo.

I guess moral would be more correct, yes. I do feel bad about it in the end.

They weren't getting naked in public, which is the issue. They were putting on their bra and underwear underneath the towel and each time they pulled the towel a bit too high or had the tower slip before their bra fully covered them.

Our tents were positioned in a way where our table and chairs faced their direction. I don't feel like getting up and rearranging our setup each time to face the tents just because they came back from the shower and decided to try and change in public.

Other people minding their own business making you uncomfortable is some serious bullshit. Maybe some introspection is in order, OP?

Definitely don't do this.

Just look down at the ground, this isn't hard

Wait, wait, wait... so they were successfully changing then? Like, you didn't see anything but their bras? I'm even more confused now

Nope, its exactly as I said, unsuccessful because the towel came off before the bra even covered them and likewise with the underwear.

My apologies then, I missunderstood.

Still don't see the issue, they did this willingly. Now, if they complained to you that would've been another thing altogether.

Eh I couldn't be bothered if I saw what I saw, it just felt weird that she changed in public with no issue, cause I do feel like she didn't notice her mistakes were so apparent.
If she didn't care, why should you? If she did, she obviously would have done it in a tent or whatever.

Don't expect everyone else, especially in different countries to have the same attitudes as you and you'll do much better.

If this were flipped and you were undressing and dressing in public, everyone would be staring at you.

Just unusual behaviour so attracts attention.

I fail to see the problem. As long as you and your party acted appropriately, seems like nothing wrong was done

It is not unusual for women (and men) to get dried up and then dressed in public bathing areas near rivers, lakes or the sea where I live (southwestern Europe). People just don't look or if they absolutely must, they do it discretely.

There are some times I go with a group or plan to go to an 'event', but man, otherwise that sound like exactly what I am not looking for in a camping trip

This is more of a moral dilemma than an ethical one, but semantics aside the line is whether you stared or not. You can't really help your initial reaction to look, but you don't have to sit there and stare after that moment.
