Even though there is a lot footage online of him doesn't mean he very well known.To most wrestling fan they don't who he is. He has one good gimmick . That works if you don't see it all the time. If you it let say every week on tv it will die.
And to the comedy part. I don't really they need more comedy wrestlers , so far it hasn't been good and has panned by every one. It not what this promotion needs
Crazy to think you know how to run a promotion that has a major tv deal. Almost like maybe sit back and let them do their thing and if you don't like it don't watch it?

Maybe he isn't well known amongst casual fans but he's been pretty popular with internet fans for a while now. I don't even know what you mean when you say he has one good gimmick, like any wrestler, he has a gimmick that he uses in a variety of different, creative ways in different matches. He isn't one note at all. And AGAIN, almost anything that's featured on TV every single week will die, so no shit that'd happen if OC was.
Don't need more comedy wrestlers? What good comedy wrestlers do they even have? Michael Nakazawa and Best Friends, I guess? There's the Librarians too but they're not good comedy. If a far more serious and sports focused promotion like NJPW can have guys like Yano, Taguchi, Colt Cabana, Best Friends, etc. on their shows at various different points then AEW will be perfectly fine with a few comedy wrestlers.
I've seen enough orange Cassidy to know that yeah he's pretty much one note. Me he has a cool gimmick and then when he has to work a match like a normal wrestler he just isn't good. He is very boring like that's that's the issue with him.
If he was soooooo boring, you sure as shit would not get this type of positive reaction from, yes, Twitter and the internet. We've had wrestleERA old hands come in and describe how good/big signing OC is. Hell, I've seen 3-4 YouTube matches of him after DoN and what he does, and how he does it, brings a smile each time. In said matches he has shown a surprising range if wrestling ability and showmanship.
We get it, you think he's shit. Still doesn't negate what a good/big singing this is for AEW. Whilst it remains to be seen if it will be overused, AEW will likely cycle talent for on and off periods to give the performers, and the gimmicks, a rest and opportunities to switch things up.
Its run by a guy who had a team in the English premier league. A league known to cycle dozens of players on a team week in and out. Wont be surprised to see the same setup be applied to AEW.

I agree that the comedy stuff AEW is doing is bad and uninteresting, but OC is legit a great comedy wrestler and a good wrestler (see his work as Fire Ant in Chikara, he is great in tag / tiros action).

This is a super weird complaint to have about a wrestler who is a regular fixture for multiple companies and has been put higher and higher on the card as those companies became more successful.

Reaction on the internet for Cassidy is mostly positive. Definitely more positive than negative.
He's not going to be for fans who don't like comedy gimmicks. He was never going to be their thing and that's fine. Nothing wrong with disliking his character, even if others like myself find it incredibly endearing.

It's just the poster to advertise the top of the roster. There's no teams there, they've shown the Bucks in similar positions on promotional material before rather than have one behind the other.

Orange Cassidy is a huge upgrade over the librarian stuff for comedy spots. Dude always gets his gimmick over, and I think it'll be the same in AEW. Still, it would be best if they play it smart and not overexpose him. That goes for a lot of people on the roster when it comes to weekly tv though.
It's their first shows on TV, they pretty much are big deals and I'm glad they're treating it as such before asking people to buy tickets for them

Was never the same after Ryan but it was Ben that totally turned me off.
I kind of thought we'd get this match on the first TV show, but they're pushing it off a couple weeks- guess it makes sense from an attraction standpoint, the first week sells itself.
I'm interested to see what approach they take. My expectation is that the winner of Omega/Moxley is the first #1 contender. Would they have Jericho drop the belt to either of them that quickly, or does the match end in some sort of shenanigans that sets up a chase that culminates at the year end PPV?
