They do not usually know they are wrong, Greg doubles down on things he's wrong about all the time until he gets corrected by listeners. Which is normal human behavior and I'm not begrudging him for that, they have the correction segment for a reason. My point is you are holding Andrea to a higher standard than any other member of the show or guest, and you shouldn't.
Idk, guess we'll just agree to disagree. I've watched every episode and Greg is always more understanding when he's wrong. I can't say the same thing with Andrea. It's just how I see it, I don't hold her at a higher standard, it just gets annoying when she goes all in for something that's usually obvious.

Besides the recent one which was thrown together because they had to record at the Let's play Reunion they all have been decent guests, seemed pretty tamed when they are on Kinda Funny.

Honestly, their Star Wars reacts was horrendous. They came across as a bunch of people who were mad their elaborate fan theories didn't come true. Kevin saying The Last Jedi is on the level of the prequels is fucking absurd. Even if everything was as bad as they said it was (which it really isn't), the fact that this is easily the most beautifully shot Star Wars film ever puts it well above the prequels. Their movie critique, in general, isn't great, so they're lucky that's not their main gig.

Not to mention the acting performances alone are much better in this movie, which prevent them from being as bad as the prequels.

Not to be totally against the critism of their critism necassarily, but I think the comments gets weirdly toxic when they express their opinion on these certain nerdy movies. People get riled up way too much about it.

I hope they chill on the guests in general. I used to not complain about the guests at all when it was every now and then. I would enjoy them. Now they have to have one on like every week. It's not the same vibe to me.

It's not surprising given their demographic.

I think the comments get so toxic when they talk about movies in general (not just nerd movies) because, quite frankly, they don't have much of a clue when it comes to critiquing movies. Notice how when Greg pans a video game you don't get the same level of toxicity? That's because he really knows his stuff and is able to put forth valid and understandable reasons for why he doesn't think a particular game is good. Do I always agree with his opinions? No. But 99% of the time they are well thought out and reasoned. The same goes when Andrea and Gary are on Games Daily. Compare the toxicity of the comments in videos where Andrea discusses her thoughts on Zelda and Mario and it's not even close to being as bad. And heck, even Tim and Andy don't cop that much flak when critiquing games. When it comes to critiquing movies the group just isn't good. Yes, that even extends to Nick. There's absolutely no rhyme or reason to why they like or dislike a movie. They somehow dislike The Last Jedi but worship The Fast & Furious franchise. And it's not like a tongue-in-cheek guilty pleasure thing; they legitimately think those movies are good. Greg praises Batman v Superman and Justice League (movies which I happen to love btw), yet somehow The Last Jedi isn't at the very least as good as those? Not to mention almost half of the Marvel movies are plain and very cookie-cutter and they still treat them as the greatest thing on Earth.

All of their "reviews" are actually just their gut feeling about the movie. This wouldn't be so bad, except they label them a review. In a review, I would expect at least some level of discussion over the more objective qualities of a movie, but these are either never touched on or brushed over and inconsequential to them. Is it really that weird for the comments to be full of anger when their "review" boils down to "I'm mad because my fan theory didn't pan out" and "Why didn't they just remake Empire even though there were hella complaints about not being original with The Force Awakens?", and then they even compare it to the prequels. They also just straight up do not understand many basic plot points to do with Star Wars. Tim, Nick and Kevin in particular act like huge fans but get so many simple things wrong regularly. To throw it back to a year ago, I lost count of how many times in the lead up to Rogue One they referenced Bothans dying to steal the Death Star plans and they thought that was what the movie was going to be about.

Apologies for the long rant., but it's something that has bugged me about their movie reviews since they started the channel.

The thing I find funny is they (by they, I mean the internet in general) were angry that we didn't get answers to characters' origins, but when we got answers in the prequels, everyone was saying they wish things were kept a mystery. Did we need to see Boba Fett's childhood. Did we even need to see young, young Anakin? Personally, I think Anakin would've worked better if he was already a teenager when we met him (making him the same age of Padme and not 5-6 years younger than her). Sometimes they mystery is the best part. I'm reminded of a thing I heard on Tested.com's This Is Only A Test Podcast. One of the co-hosts, Jeremy, was at SDCC last year with his son. At the convention, they were selling mystery boxes for $10. You are not told what's inside, but are guaranteed to get $10 worth of stuff. Jeremy told his son that, if he bought it (with his allowance money), it would probably be best not to open it, as he would almost surely be disappointed at what was inside. The feeling of wonder and mystery prior to opening the box would be ruined. Sure enough, he opened it up and was, as expected, terribly disappointed that he spent the money on mostly cheap junk. Long story short, sometimes the mystery is more valuable than the payoff.

Hit the nail on the head here.
People are mad we didn't get every single part of Snoke's life explained to us. Except, when they did that with Palpatine in the prequels people didn't like it?
I really think Star Wars fans are split in two at this point. You're either onboard with new ideas and approaches to Star Wars, or alternatively, you just want them to rehash the original trilogy. I'm pretty sure Kinda Funny is the latter at this point considering they fawn over The Force Awakens and Rogue One.

Yeah, the only thing I miss since Colin left is having the GoG show just be KF people. I loved them shooting the shit, now most of the topics revolve around a guest and I would much rather have far fewer guests and have Andy be the 4th person. Or even Cool Greg.

Ehhhh, I'm with them on that one.
I mean, I didn't need his full backstory, but c'mon now, we got NOTHING at all. Was he around when Palpatine was in charge? Did he just slide in and take control or was he always apart of the Empire? I mean there are some basic ass fuck questions that should've been answered before offing a major villain in a movie. It's just basic story telling 101. Maybe JJ will give us more in Episode 9? If he does, then it retroactively makes it ok in my book with how they handled it. But if he doesn't, then I stand by the fact it was poor character building and story telling.

You realise they gave us about us much backstory with Palpatine in the original trilogy as they have with Snoke, right? Nobody ever complained about that before the prequels, so why are people calling this poor storytelling? If this is poor then that inherently makes the original trilogy poor in that aspect too. The fact is, the story is about KYLO REN and Snoke ultimately doesn't matter. If you're desperate for backstory there will be ten million things about it in the Expanded Universe stuff and heck, I almost guarantee we will learn more about Snoke when we inevitably see the Knights of Ren in 9.

What awkward timing with the holding back of this weeks Podcast and the whole Max thing.

Aint the latest GoG *Xmen Finally in the MCU* Nothing major just mentioned they did the episode before the 200 Max Landis special and mentioning him a few times in the podcast.

Ohhh that's my bad. I thought you meant the latest Patreon episode that went up today. I actually haven't listened to either! Finally getting around to catching up and was just about to listen to the "Xmen Finally in the MCU" episode in a moment.

But yeah, you've got a point that is pretty awkward. I expected them to come out and say something about it but I don't think they ever did. Maybe they will when they come back next week?

After listening, I don't actually think what they said was awkward at all. They probably didn't even remember saying it honestly, plus it was just a single statement about recording 200 with Max. Definitely nothing that needs to be addressed specifically.

And that Anna Akana tweet... Reminds me that she used to be a couple with one of his best friends and I remember them having some friction.

Also hype for KF day.

Hope it's not a new project like the animated shorts though. Seemed like a money and time pit that never really paid off.

Here are some of the notable announcements so far:

A PlayStation VR themed show that will start next month
A show reviewing every Marvel movie up to the release of Avengers Infinity War
KF "Prom" in place of KF Live 4, a more intimate, differently themed event

Same. It's kinda an idea I've had before, just do that style of event for adults. Hope it goes well
I've got a feeling they had to scale it down a bit for budget reasons. KFL3 must've cost a bomb to put on and topping that would just be prohibitively expensive every year. This seems like a really smart way to scale down.

I don't think Greg has any idea about the stuff going on with Boogie. This is the only place I even see him get mentioned with that "both sides" gif. They talked briefly about Max during the stream today, but just said all they know is what we know and they found it odd that it's been radio silent from all parties since the news broke a few weeks ago. Seems they're just going to move on with their own stuff and will address it when there's more information to talk about. It's a little eye opening to see how news that makes the rounds on this board doesn't populate among the masses as much as we think it does. When they brought up Max, almost the whole Twitch chat didn't even know something had happened. We live in our own little bubbles.

Well i am looking to fly out from the UK for the 3rd year in a row, would have preferred a live event with vip the next day but this will basically be the vip event from last year with a dance added on top and all there mates in attendance. Should be dope, love that one of my Mates is taking Mia Kalifa and she is already arranging to meet up when she is in london next month. Lets see who can impress Barb the most with their videos etc. To be honest if it was just the live podcasts or something really crap would still want to go as the week around it is well worth the money just to hang out with the best friends and run round SF and got to IGN etc. If anyone is going do a cocktail evening each year, kfl2 went to Hardwater with 10 best friends, last year went to nopa with 10 best friends including Gia, this year its filling up quick, and willl add additional tables/times if there is the demand, hit me up on twitter "theindieboy1" if intrested is always fun but expect to spend 50-100 bucks

Not taking anything away from Colin, but I agree I think their content has improved dramatically in the last year. Not because of the absence of Colin, just that their content has been really solid recently and they've made a lot of improvements. They've definitely been listening to fans but beyond that they've just honed their skills a bunch. Those times with Colin will forever be classic though!!

Kinda Funny Games Daily is as good as Podcast Beyond was, Party Mode is freaking hilarious and I'd absolutely recommend you check out some of the more recent episodes of that, and I've been enjoying what they've done with GoG over the last few months. I only named like half their content here lol, but I was just wanted to give some perspective.

Hi Kinda Funny crew and best friends. Just want to say I really enjoyed the content this week. Even though it was a slow news week for games, the conversations were really good. Very tantalizing how you broke out Gamescast predictions into multiple episodes too, Tim.

Yeah, I mean I'm not going to pull support or stop watching if they do collaborate, but it's hard not to be disappointed or anything. If it's that they really haven't heard about all the negative shit he's said and done, I'll be amazed. It's not exactly easy to avoid in a community like this especially with the current social and political atmosphere.
