tryna decide if it'd be worth it to pick up a 2ds xl on black friday
so far I want:
Dragon Quest 7
Dragon Quest 8
Zelda ALBW
Mario 3D Land
Pokemans XY & SunMoon
Bravely Default
Ace Attorney 5 & 6
I would put Kingdom Hearts DDD on there but I want to get a PS4 someday and I'd rather get the remake.
is 9 games enough to warrant the purchase of a system

The Fire Emblem games are mostly good if you don't mind the marriages all being straight and typical JRPG fanservice garbage. Echoes is the most free from that sort of stuff imo! The Fates games in general have a lot of it, but I really like the strategy and variety in Conquest.
Also I got a lot of enjoyment out of Tomodachi Life if you're into Sims-like games. But yet again, only straight romance options ):
Animal Crossing is really nice too. It's not an rpg or story-driven like the other games on your list, though.
If you end up liking Bravely Default the sequels also nice.
3DS Professor Layton games are weaker than their DS counterparts but the stories and puzzles are cute and interesting.
Never played it but I heard the 3DS Metroid is also good.
Dragon Quest VII is cute but it never fucking ends. Took me 110 hours to finish it and I didn't even bother with post game. DQVIII is the tea in every way tho. RatskyWatsky

Since you seem to be into RPGs there's also the Shin Megami Tensei games on the system (SMTIV, SMTIV Apocalypse, and Soul Hackers) to consider.
Theatrhythm Final Fantasy: Curtain Call is a really fun rhythm game.
The Style Boutique/Savvy games are genuinely good store management games with a cute dressup component.
The Picross series on the eShop are incredibly chill puzzle games.

The FE games are fantasic, Echoes is a personal favourite of the 3DS games but the others are fun too, despite some of their problems regarding writing, Conquest in particular has very great mechanics. Awakening/Birthright are good starts to the series because they are easier. Echoes has the best writing and best characters and designs of the 3 imo, however it's a remake of an older game, so some elements aren't as refined as the other games. It is a better RPG due to its narrative and exploration with villages and dungeons but a weaker Strategy RPG due to map design imo.
ALBW, SM3DL and Pokemon X/Y are must buys imo. And I def think 9 games is enough, they are all quite meaty.
Atlus has several really good RPGs for the platform too such as SMT4!

A lot of people would be coming at this as fans of Kevin Spacey, but I'm coming at it more as a fan of Anthony Rapp. I've been familiar with Anthony Rapp since my first real steps into learning about my sexuality, and looking for the visibility and role models and all that. To me, he's been one of the symbols of that time and recently seeing him in The Good Fight and then Star Trek made me excited for him.
But Kevin Spacey was just that guy who acted well in a show I liked.

All in all I'd say this is a great system. There' such a variety of games available that you can't go wrong with it.

I think it matters in how he is essentially tying the two things together in his PR statement; it essentially throws the gay community under the bus in using it as a way to deflect and distract from the serious misconduct, and reaffirms that perpetual religious right gay men as predators talking point/slippery slope argument for conservatives.
Completely agree with the analysis. I imagine that a lot of the Right might ve looking for a way to turn this situation, and Spacey might have offered them that path by conflating unrelated issues in his statement.
