From the site in the OP:
NpBCMw6.png

Under this image they refer to the Switch ports of Resident Evil, Dragons Dogma, Devil May Cry, and whatever the otome-looking game is as said examples of adult games. So stuff like that.
But seriously they aren't meaning "adult" as in "mature".
They are banking on three "adult" parameters based on the images:
  • Lack of play time of adults → play anywhere in tabletop mode
The image is a busy adult in his hotel room with an impromptu play session (doesn't even have a TV set up).
  • Having played the games when young → nostalgia
The image shows the adult on the right reminiscing playing the game as a teen next to (?) his girlfriend. He is the shaved head boy who's enthralled by the game in the flashback.
  • Adults that might be new to gaming in general → the Switch is trendy for everyone
The image shows someone who see gaming ads but doesn't look like a typical gamer. The pensive woman on the right is the same as the woman looking at the ad in the center of the image. It has nothing to do with "otome games", it is simply juxtaposed with a "regular" corridor ad to show how "mainstream" gaming is becoming.

The images are a bit hard to read due to their use of juxtaposition of different angles without clear separation.

I didn't pull the games I listed out of thin-air just by looking at the images. If you go to the site, right under these images they have a list of games that they classify as these "adult masterpieces." One of them is an otome game, Toraware no Palm.

Oh, you are right, I misinterpreted your post. I thought you had started listing the games based on the bubbles in the first drawing.

Oh no, when they say "adult lineup" do they mean actual real world "adult" , such as mature themes? Or do they mean gaming culture "adult", which is actually the maturity level of a 15 year old boy looking tits and ass all day in his bedroom?
I'd like to think it's the former, but this industry doesn't have a good track record for such things.

See, that's the thing: the Switch doesn't fit Capcom's current strategy. Their current batch of "prestige" classic IPs as high-end "AAA" just... can't run on Switch in their current incarnations and/or would take too much to port that they probably do not find it worth it. They also obviously had no plans for the Switch to begin with and have since realised they can still make money of that platform while "just" porting ports of old games. Div 1 is doing their own thing with the RE engine (RE3make, whatever Itsuno has up next, Onimusha if that ever gets off the ground, the multiplayer RE game) and Div 2 is all hands on deck on the Monster Hunter projects and the Mega Man project, and whatever Ace Attorney was and sure, those are coming to the Switch, (and will probably sell best there, ngl) but those are not their "big focus" and are ways off and the fighter teams are otherwise preoccupied in trying not to implode before they manage to put out the rest of SFV and SFVI and the Vs. game they've got kicking around, and I doubt any of those fighters will make it to Switch.

As it stands the only things Capcom has in development that could go on the Switch already do. That they do so in underwhelming and dissapointing (and reprehensible? looking at you RE4) ways notwithstanding, they just... don't have the output to do much more. You'll get your Mega Man and your overpriced ports and whatever MonHun Switch ends up being. But unless there's a radical shift in scope, Capcom will keep selling ports and collections that sell best on Switch and not much else.
I feel like Capcom is doubling down on next-gen at this point (Mega Man & Ace Attorney aside).

No they literally mean hard working adults who don't have time for games and go out on business trips drinking wine

Not expecting anything meaningful. Actually, I'm curious if Capcom found new ways to insult the Switch-audience :D

My Capcom-attempt: switch-ports of the Wii-on rails shooter. :/
I would freaking love this, the RE Wii railshooters were basically RE fanboys porn and imagine @1080p /60fps 🤤

but i dont think Capcom is gonna do it, Switch has no pointer :'^(

Darkside Chronicles is contender for best soundtrack in the entire series

I hope it's MH on Switch, even when it's obviously not it, because that's the only Capcom thing I can get excited for.

Maybe Capcom forgot they've already ported Resident Evil 4 for the Switch and will announce they're porting it again.

Can't wait for Dead Boner Rising to release... What an odd name for a collection of ports.

See, that's a good point and another thing to consider as well: Capcom's "AAA" focus is very much going to see them develop for "next gen" platforms in a big way. Switch support will, sadly, probably be equally as limited going forward.

It sucks, but I don't see this changing any time soon.

they don't have the manpower to do many lower budgeted games. and since they cut a lot of their external development connections, it'll be some time before they do that again

Capcom is porting so much old stuff to Switch that they are giving the ports a brand name.

Given this and Capcom's apparent focus on AAA for PS/PC/XBOX, I think a new MH for Switch is highly unlikely despite the rumors (maybe a port mistaken-ed for new). Probably the best we can expect is for occasional new mid-tier games and better pricing on the ports (not).

Definitely didn't run that one past the English-speaking Capcom branches hahahahaha

Capcom really isn't porting these games to Switch for the western audience. Their Switch support is for Japan, with the side effect of the games also releasing in the west. Switch's massive success outside of Japan has little to no bearing on Capcom's support. If the system were tanking domestically, we wouldn't see any support, despite its success in the west.

The title sounds sexual.

There is literally nothing more to my post than that

Capcom's Switch ports are selling close to nothing in Japan and they are on a clear downwards trend with sales of their ports.

Capcom is on target to sell less software this year than they did last year on in 2017.
