That looks so much like alttp...

Not only visual style. It has the same sword animations, chests, items, and even mechanics (block switches).

Beyond homage imo...

I was really disappointed by ittle dew 2, but this looks way more like what I want out of a 2d zelda style game. I'll give it a shot.

Zelda-like is probably underselling the similarities. That looks exactly like a 2D Zelda.

Yeah....it actually kind of turns me off how much this feels like Zelda...that overworld music is WAY too similar. For those of you who've played it, does this game carve out it's own identity?

Will wait for some reviews or even some actual impressions. Some people have played it, but none have really said anything about it yet. Looks great though by looking at the video.

Thanks, didn't even think about Steam as I very rarely use it. Seems like an ok Zelda clone with some things on its own, not a very long game and the puzzles and design is somewhat repeatative. Might check it out on Switch at some point, just got the system, so I have to choose my games carefully (simply too many games to choose from).

I got my switch only 2 days ago and really want a Zelda style game, I checked out the trailer but the music is awful. Hope the rest of the music is better.

I really, really enjoyed Ittle Dew 2. The puzzles were fun and rewarding. I just didn't like the extra puzzles for the trading cards. The dungeons weren't too hard and neither were the bosses and had just the right amount of challenge. I'd recommend it completely and I paid for the physical version too.

I got through the first 3 dungeons of lttle Dew 2 before other amazing Switch games started piling up and distracted me, lol. Fun stuff though.

Been considering Blossom Tales but still waiting for more impressions/reviews :)

Just played through until what I assume is most of the first big dungeon and i like it so far. More of a Link's Awakening vibe (especially inside the dungeon and how items are mapped to buttons) but I see a lot of alttp on the overworld too.

A couple of different collectibles already , two of which are analogous to those from Zelda.

Will keep playing and likely see it through.

this reminds me of 3D Dot Heroes, which I played thru maybe the first 3 dungeons and just gave up. I didn't like it

Loving the game, I've wanted a 2D Zelda on Switch and this is scratching the itch nicely.

I would like 1 thing however, a scanline option - I feel it would make the game look a lot nicer.

Some of you bought Blossom Tales yesterday and I wanted to say big thanks! Because of your support and love, the game sold twice the amount of units on Day 1 Switch vs. lifetime sales of Steam. Nintendo community is the best! Happy Holidays!! <3

Guess that whole issue of only Nintendo games can generate numbers on Nintendo systems is bullshit. Congrats in the great sales. It really looks like an awesome piece of work!

Hell, I bought it off of the trailer alone.

I just looked at Steamspy and that's still very low amount. :(

I just wish I had time to play all these Switch games...

Thanks so much everyone!
It's a possibility! Our partner is usually Limitedrungames - let's see if we can team up next year. Fingers crossed!

Looking forward to what you can work out, any publisher is fine for me! Strictly Limited Games doesn't have the nasty age rating logo though ;)

Keeping my eye on this if impressions continue to be positive I'll add it to my rapidly growing switch backlog... help

The age rating logo unfortunately became mandatory for all publishers. It's a new requirement coming from ESRB and manufacturers.

Because Strictly Limited is operating from Germany, they don't need to print the USK rating on the box as the games aren't sold in stores or to minors. Shipping fees for non-Americans are also much more palatable. But let's focus on the game again, sorry for shifting the discussion. If a physical release doesn't pan out, I'll be getting the digital version next year.

Blossom Tales is fantastic. If you're curious, here is my review: https://4colorrebellion.com/post/168793148572/4cr-plays-blossom-tales-the-sleeping-king
I absolutely recommend it if you're looking for a good take on 2D Zelda. It's charming, beautifully paced, and very snappy. It's one of the best surprises I've had in awhile.

No problem, thanks for the input about USK!

Decided to bite the bullet on this. Will be playing it on my vacation!
Thank you very much, please enjoy! :)

Not sure why but decided to buy it, I love Zelda but could nerver get into the 2D games when I was younger. Just got done with the first Temple. Really fun game and the first Temple was very well made. Loved the music in it.

The game is very much a 2D Zelda and maybe now when Im much older I can appreciate these games more. Because I am having a lot of fun with this one.

Just finished the first dungeon and I cannot get over how well this game is designed and plays.

Playing this and Tiny Metal back to back days before Christmas is bringing me back to my GBA days. It feels weird. Amazing but weird. Lol.
