What do you mean the game is tI o fast? Is it characters movement speed? Is the time-to-kill to short?
If all reviews penalized games for having very familiar mechanics, Mario Kart 8 and Smash Bros Ultimate - both MC 90+ games - would have been on 70% MC at best.
I've said it before. Shooters seem to get dinged way too much.

Movement speed is a lot faster than prior entries and the time to kill is super quick. Also the amount of times i have been killed and killed people by spawning behind the other team seems a lot more prevalent than before.
Haven't tried Horde yet, but the new mode 'Escape' seems pretty good and the addition of the ability to make maps for this mode is pretty sweet. I can see myself having some fun with this just maybe not so much in pvp as in ALL prior entries in the series.

I noticed from videos that move speed seemed to be a bit faster than I'm used to. And the lancer seemed to have a faster TTK (due to headshots maybe?)
It's definitely higher damage than 4 currently.
We're gonna see some balance changes in the near future I think. Core PvP community will always be loud when rifles are too powerful.
I've been keeping my eye on Metacritic, doesn't look like it's adding these new reviews in.
Where do you see the 8 btw? I can't find the score on the page.
I think they update it from time to time im not sure. Im pretty sure it counting towards MC (not yet) because the review is from app trigger. They have an account at MC and they reviewed the new monster hunter dlc and that's is already listed on that page. I think it will be added today.

IMO, other games and genres get too much leeway for staying the same.
I really like what I've played of G5 so far, but, it does feel like more of the same. Maybe MK8 and Ultimate should have received lower scores if it they were incremental updates like this one.
Wow really? I believe he gave Gears 4 and 7.0? Did he give this one a score also?
No score, he loved everything, from SP to MP, he hates microtransactions as always :D

I'm hearing that the headshot damage boost is only in Arcade and campaign... That should keep core happy right?
I don't really disagree that the review system is hyper-inflated, but for me to give a game 8+ it needs to be great. I'm not really seeing anything Gears 5 is doing great. A fun game (7.5 is "very good" in my book), but not something that "sticks to the ribs", as they say.

Love the game, but I'm getting really annoyed that I get kicked every time I play horde mode.
Back on the board that shall not be mentioned, I use to ask people that made posts likes to join my party.
I don't waste my time anymore, but 9 times out of 10 they wouldn't/couldn't show up. LOL
I think you're actually playing the game though, so it's not a shot saying you aren't.

I'm at the end of Act 1, and the new gimmick is point with x and tell your robot to get stuff? That shit might have gone down better in 2008 or something. It's 2019 and I'm looking for a little more. Hopefully, things get better.
Im mostly curious about the three player co op. If it works or feels more of an afterthought. Uncertain if should play on PC or the X.

Three player co-op is definitely a thing in campaign. When you start a lobby, there are two slots open, but one player will be playing (Jack) Dave.
Did he confuse lightning with lighting? Probably tired. Or his accent.

Which is especially baffling because there aren't many linear, somewhat tightly paced shooters left.
2x 80 reviews were added. Which is of course lower dan 86. Still some big reviews are still coming like al the ign's.
People who are tracking the meta scores desperately.

I know. I don't really put much stock in other awards at this point. If you really trust one publication, that's cool. But TGA is a panel of judges across the industry. I don't go by sheer number of awards. Since any tiny blog gets counted now-a-days. In that sense, I'm sure almost every game wins a GOTY awards from someone.
