Are the old Sakura Wars games available on PC or Switch? Watching the old Segata Sanshiro commercials honestly have me interested. If not, what's the best platform to play them on?

Did not know that Sakura Wars was a mech game. Will keep an eye on this game, the gameplay looks good so far.

The only entry with an official English localization is Sakura Wars: So Long, My Love, available on the PS2 and Wii.

Sakura Wars 1 is available on PC but I can't for the life of me get it to run on Windows 10. It's also unlocalized but a fantranslation is in progress

Looks pretty good. It's interesting that Sakura Wars has become an action game while Yakuza has become a turn-based game.

OP, can you update the OP/title with the new story content please?

On topic, this all looks SO GOOD:

The Kohei Tanaka soundtrack.
The varied action combat and platforming.
The great transition from the art style to the graphics.
The Yakuza-inspired choreography in the cutscenes (they actual confirmed staff from the RGG studio are helping in this aspect).

You can tell a lot of heart is going into making this game, I'm so excited.

All I can say is, and this isn't the first time saying it: Why, WHY, was this level of effort not given to the Valkyria revival?

Is the combat basically Kingdom Hearts? That's the vibe I'm getting... not sure how I feel about that...

Also: there are mechs? Had no idea

Looking great so far. Combat looks much more varied than I expected. The SRPG elements in SW were always just kinda there except in later games when it got slightly better, but I like the look of this so far.

I've been heading a translation project for the first game for the Saturn since last year with the help of a dozen translators. Cj_iwakura has been working on editing the translated script. It's nearly done. Should be out shortly. You'll be able to run it on an emulator or a Saturn.

I'm digging the action battle system here.

well to be fair and in no offense to Valkyria (because I bought that launch edition of 4 at launch), Sakura Wars did win that most requested poll, so maybe that interest is what gave them a push in the budget.

Valkyria Chronicles 4 was mostly Media.Vision anyway, so this is a different team.

Also it was rad.

I still think everything about this outside of the combat looks essentially perfect.

I literally had no idea this was a mech game. This went from a "meh" to a "you have my attention go on as my hand slips into my wallet."

Games still on my radar even though the switch to action RPG kinda bummed me out, which is funny because Yakuza's switch to turn based RPG also bummed me out.

Never played this series but i thought they were SRPGs, not that i'm complaining. Will happily play this if the gameplay can convince me.

VC4 was a product of us, loud minority.

This game is day 1 for me, I initial dislike it as another musuo clone but it should be deeper than that and it has rpg mechanics

All the things they showed were really awesome
and Anastasia speaks greek when she's doing her super move!!!
She says Απόλυτο Μηδέν which means absolute zero in greek :P.
There was one thing that completely sucked surprisingly and that was Azami's battle outfit which is trash.
