The editor is probably old enough to remember when other conservatives were not walking cartoons. I'm a right-of-center person myself. Growing up, I could look to people like William F. Buckley, Milton Friedman, or Reagan as possible role models. Young conservatives today are stuck with this Milo person, Ann Coulter, and Trump. It's a pretty ugly state of affairs.

Damn, that editor is incredibly professional throughout this whole thing. He actually took the time to articulate why each section is bad instead of just sending it back and going "this whole thing is complete fucking garbage", when all of his comments suggest that's exactly what he thought of it.

Who knew that deciding to publish a bigoted asshole with no discernible talents or critical thinking skills would yield such poor results? S&S deserve every single bit of criticism heading their way. This was an idiotic idea in the first place. This fucker deserves ZERO air time...in any medium. Crawl back into your fucking hole, Milo.

I wonder if Milo is going to accuse the editor of being a 'Liberal SJW Cuck'. I really looked into Milo. Points of view, perspective, etc. He confuses the shit out of me. He is literally what he as a far right conservative is usually against. A flamboyantly gay man who is not only trans-exclusionary, but is full on trans-phobic. And you know what, in all of his material I've watched, he's made a good point here and there. But it's completely drowned out and made weightless by how utterly insufferable and shitty a person he is. He is his own counter-weight to any legitimacy he thinks he has, and boils himself down to a spectator sport for dumb-fucks who just like watching shitty people operate and "triggering the ESSJAYDUHBLEYOOS".

Goes to show how even an editor working for the far right thinks alt right provocateurs like Milo are idiots. Seeing this only makes Simon & Schuster look worse, hopefully this lawsuit goes on for a long time so they both lose as much money as possible.

If Milo's book and national tour was actually about what he claimed it to be about (free speech), he might have something worth saying. Here, he had an opportunity to back up most of his outlandish claims with data, kind of like Aziz Ansari did in his dating book. Unfortunately, what Milo is actually advocating for is "freedom to have all of my hot takes taken seriously without judgement". S&S didn't realize they would be trying to edit a blog post into a manuscript.

If I was ever invited to debate this person, my only rule would be...no crowds, no cameras. We debate in a silent classroom with moderators, audio only. Let him use his words to argue. Demagogues feed off of crowd heat, whether positive or negative.
