Justin Hunt makes terrible videos imo.
I don't think rap is comparable to those genres. Jazz and rock required a certain skill level and equipment (instruments). Those entry points became more expensive and restrictive in later years as music programs faded, young people strayed from the black church (where music programs once churned out major talent), and instrument prices increased. Hip hop has none of those restrictions: all you need is an iMac and free SoundCloud. Or an iPhone.
Also demographics are different. White populations aren't increasing like they were in the 50s and 60s. If anyone is going to take over music it's Hispanics.
A better argument is that black people move on to new sounds they invent, leaving white people to "take over" previous waves. Jazz was the biggest wave in the 30s and 40s. Then rock n roll came, and young blacks gravitated to it. Then they gravitated to r&b, then funk, then disco, then returned to r&b. Then of course hip hop came. I'm sure black people will create something else in the next 20 years.
But right now hip hop is the dominant genre in the country and much of the world. Yea some white artists are doing well...yet none are nearly as big as Drake, Kendrick or Cole. Post Malone is touring small/medium venues right now while the biggest rappers do arenas. The big "new" rappers today are black too. Uzi, Kodak, Yachty, etc. Future has the streets on lock, Cardi is blowing up, etc. What white rapper is doing it on that level?
Dudes in this thread really worried about artists that nobody will give a fuck about in 2018-early 2019
Easy Top 5.Y'all didn't talk about Sweeter Dreams enough when it dropped
shit is fuego
best beats of 2017 go
must come from an officially released song, no just-a-beat soundcloud stuff
Wow Nas over Japanese production. This sounds fresh. I fucks with this.
The one's I can remember off the top or just because I've recently listened to it.
Big K.R.I.T. - Confetti
J.I.D. - Never
Rapsody - Oohwee
David Banner - Who Want it
Wu-Tang Clan - My One And Only
Jay-Z - 4.44
MC Eiht - Heard Cold
Camron - D.I.A.
Joey Bada$$ - Temptation
DJ Shadow's Entire 4 track EP - The Mountain Has Fallen - Corridors sounds like it can be out of a Final Fantasy boss battle.
Gaddamit I wish this track came out this year though... Would have been perfect for the summer. Swizz using it to win against Just Blaze was some unfair stealth shit. Always next year. Escobar season returns...

post is a homeless guy that crashed into a tattoo shopIf you're on a diet just keep a picture of post malone on hand and you'll be skinny in no time
dude is so gross looking he'll makes you lose your appetite
R&B singer that looks like a rapper?Had no clue what he looked like; I'd probably listened to Stoney 100 times before I saw a picture of him. Was pretty hilarious when I first saw him.
Not sure why Post Malone gets lumped in with White Rappers though; he's an R&B singer.
I suppose he's a hip-hop / pop singer more than R&B (although often R&B is still used to describe that kind of music); still not a "white rapper."Frank Ocean and miguel are r&B singers. Post malone makes hip hop, whether he wants to admit it or not.

Thats twice the vulturing in half the time
the part he took the generic rapper accesoriesI suppose he's a hip-hop / pop singer more than R&B (although often R&B is still used to describe that kind of music); still not a "white rapper."

He doesn't have the rights to those beats.
Guess that settles it, we've consulted the most respected authority on hip hop... a google search
