Yeeeeees, it's finally up! Thank you so much to ody and TheOddOne for their amazing contribution. I can't wait to discuss the show more. I'm currently behind with two episodes unfortunately but I'm looking to catch up this week. I loved Episode 4 and believe I already posted my impression and some images in the general DCTV thread. I'm enjoying this season more than last season so far, and there's so many characters and arc on this show, and I'm such a sucker for character focused shows.

This thread needs the fighting stance.

This season has been outstanding. Easily my favorite of all the comic book shows currently airing.

Just so consistently entertaining every week. Zsasz and Penguin have been great too and I liked how creepy some of the Pyg stuff got. That grenade trigger being tied to the mask was good

Gotham is a great show, but much like the other DC TV shows on other networks... they sometimes feel they are rushing through their plot to get to the "good stuff"

Just watched the last episode today. Pyg was handled very well and always love seeing Victor. This show actually started to fall out of favor with me last season, but it's been a lot better so far in season 4 IMO.

I love Gotham so much because

1. they aren't afraid to just be ridiculous(tone is perfect)
2. Other than the current arcs you really have no clue where this show will go next.
3. It isn't a light or condensed version of some other material, I don't think this would work outside of this specific series at all.
4. production design and quality is incredible

Gotham has added actresses Peyton List in the recurring guest role as Ivy Pepper / Poison Ivy.

"In the continuing evolution of Poison Ivy's origin story, Ivy Pepper has been transformed once again taking another step toward becoming the Ivy we know from the comics. Dangerous. A live wire of crazy energy. She'll set her sights on Gotham, intent on making the city her own green paradise."

RE: Ivy, was honestly pretty weird how they "aged" her up, just to be able to make her more "sexy". I mean, she's still a kid. But the show really hasn't been handling the female characters very well imo, most are very much femme fatale types, even the kids, which again, I find sort of disturbing (for a lack of a better word). some of the ways they shoot scenes with Seline, is like how they would've shot an older more mature Catwoman. Probably my biggest problem with the show.

Not happy about recasting Ivy. Can't see the new one having the same chemistry with Penguin/Selina.

Digging Solomon Grundy though. Who knew they could make the character work work just some white face and body paint. Only on Gotham, this shit wouldn't fly anywhere else.

So torn... Peyton was hawt as Golden Glider, but I also liked Maggie's version of Ivy once she stopped acting like a little kid

New episode today:
Season 4: episode 7 "A Day in the Narrows"

With Professor Pyg striking fear throughout Gotham, Gordon and Bullock head into the Narrows to look for clues. Bruce Wayne meets a former friend, Grace, who convinces him to come along for a night out with some old classmates. Meanwhile, Sofia's relationships with Penguin and Gordon continue to evolve.

RE: Ivy, was honestly pretty weird how they "aged" her up, just to be able to make her more "sexy". I mean, she's still a kid.
I think, it's the point of her character. In the first story-lines with adult Ivy, she mentions, that men just give her things for being around and looking good. Her use of sexuality has a childish undertune, where she doesn't get the reason, but she likes having control over people. At the start of this session she notice, that she was losing control again and now starts to seeking more and new ways to get back this feeling.
Gotham's Ivy is supposed to be a control freak with doesn't understand the magnitude of her actions, since her evolution as person stopped on a child-level. Even here love for plants will be underlining the point, where she just selfishly loves them, because she can control them and they give her power. Gotham didn't made this clear yet, but this session still has a lot of time left.

I'm catching up before the new episode tonight. That Solomon Grundy episode was something. So we done with Rha's al Ghul. Guess there wasn't really more to him, I liked his actor. Wonder what power Barbara got. And I don't like Solomon Grundy and this wrestling fight scene was disappointing in the start of episode 6. The cinematography in episode 5 really made the wrestling cage feel much more street and rough, while the filming in episode 6 made it feel like a studio set. The lighting was very off which is rare on this show.

Lee Tompkins is back, meh, I'm not feeling her. But this Pygma dude is some crazy shit, I'm all in. You got my attention.

And strange they are recasting Ivy again. There didn't seem to be any problems with the actress and she were connecting really well with the rest of the cast. Peyton List is even more beautiful although I hope she got acting chops. Wonder where they'll take her, I hope they start figuring out what to do with her.

By the way, I absolutely love Sofia Falcone. Best actress on the show now, and she's just so damn cool in her planning and scheming, but it's her vulnerability and softness that really gets me. Great performance!

Also, Camren posted a photo of her in her new Catwoman suit today. It looks great honestly. Even the mask looks good. *cough* take a hint Bruce *cough*

I dunno man... although I too enjoy the actor (Dr. Bashir represent) his story was wasted, and although his acting was good, his physical stature was hard to take seriously as a threat
